Hey, anybody doing this for ANY length of time MUST by now realize that this is a long term road and must be in a committed frame of mind. I love this blog and participating on a daily basis – but, if I get caught up in everyday gyrations – I will be in the psychiatrist office more times than I would like to admit :).
Thanks to everyone and all the best during this CHRISTmass time!

      Hey Marc,

I completely agree with you regarding the impact of day-to-day gyrations on a person’s attitude. It is not healthy, in my opinion, to be caught up in this short term stuff because that is certainly not what investing is all about.

      I appreciate your continued input.

      Best,

Finally, please remind yourselves – that printing money ad nauseum only brings about future pain in the long run…it is analogous to when the Roman Empire started, unbeknownst to its citizens, substituting lead and zinc in their coins/currency and slowly dissolving its gold and silver content. However, and this is big, we all know that the printing press is doing the EXACT same thing as the Romans did to their coins. BUT, the government is so audacious and/or looney they don’t try to hide it. Hey, this will all come down to who has HONEST money in their possession!!

Big money has obviously been compelled to action by the bargains out there. Did anyone else notice the huge volume to the upside in many miners on Friday? Here’s just a few: AXU up 12% on 8x the 3 month average volume; THO.TO up 12% on 13.6x volume; SPM.TO up 12% on 11.7x volume; SBB.TO up 5.6% on 11x volume. And there are many more. Further downside in the metals may not present significantly better prices as those who might sell in size seem to have been thoroughly cleaned out. Upside potential, right now, dwarfs any coming downside in my opinion. Disclosure: Long AXU. I have been too bullish for weeks now! DYODD (Do Your Own Due Diligence).

      Hi Matthew,

Many thanks for your continued input.

I must say that I was a little surprised to see ITH down under $4.00 recently. I must say that, for me, this really represents a buying opportunity.

Listen to my Daily Editorial on my holdings later today. And, please give me your feedback.

    Hello Big Al from Spain,
I am investing in several mining companies but looking at other investments as allocated gold ETF. Could you give me your opinion about CENTRAL GOLDTRUST (GTU-UN.TO)?
Thank you for all your insights.
    Best,
    Iker

    Good afternoon Iker,

I don’t know anything about Central Goldtrust but here is where you can get more information: Questions: info@gold-trust.com

You might also want to take a look at goldmoney.com. James Turk is a good friend of mine.

you can also consider CEF of Canada. We know the founding director….a really good guy and good analyst. Plus Canada has some overtones of a very safe place to own shares backed 100% by gold and silver for nearly 30 years. Audited, insured, counted, etc., etc. – Traderrog
