Rule Of Law Deterioration Has 2nd Amendment Supporters Worried

“The Second Amendment (Amendment II) to the United States Constitution is the part of the United States Bill of Rights that protects the right of the people to keep and bear arms. It was adopted on December 15, 1791, along with the rest of the Bill of Rights.” –

Wikipedia

“In 2008 and 2010, the Supreme Court issued two Second Amendment decisions. In District of Columbia v. Heller, 554 U.S. 570 (2008), the Court ruled that the Second Amendment protects an individual’s right to possess a firearm, unconnected to service in a militia and to use that arm for traditionally lawful purposes, such as self-defense within the home. In dicta, the Court listed many longstanding prohibitions and restrictions on firearms possession as being consistent with the Second Amendment. In McDonald v. Chicago, 561 U.S. 3025 (2010), the Court ruled that the Second Amendment limits state and local governments to the same extent that it limits the federal government.”

“The right to keep and bear arms (often referred as the right to bear arms, or to have arms) is the enumerated right that people have a personal right to firearms for individual use, and a collective right to bear arms in a militia. The term militia (or irregular army, is commonly used today to refer to a military force composed of ordinary citizens to provide defense, emergency law enforcement, or paramilitary service, in times of emergency without being paid a regular salary, or committed to a fixed term of service. It is an expression with multiple distinct but related meanings. Legal and historical meanings of militia include:

  • Defense activity, or service, to protect a community, its territory, property, and laws.
  • The entire able-bodied population of a community, town, county, or state, available to be called to arms.
  • A subset of these who may be legally penalized for failing to respond to a call-up.
  • A subset of these who actually respond to a call-up, regardless of legal obligation.
  • A private, non-government force, not necessarily directly supported, or sanctioned by its government.
  • An official reserve army, composed of citizen soldiers. Called by various names in different countries such as; the Army Reserve, National Guard, or state defense forces.”

Second Amendment Continued

Our personal rules are to follow the United States Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and the Ten Commandments. In our opinion, the rest is just nonsense promulgated by crooked politicians, lobbyists, or others with an agenda.

Recent escalation of violence in the United States has more to do with economic, and social pressures rather than guns. A gun is just a tool. If there were no guns in the USA right now, the public’s drastically messed-up mental instability and bureaucratic rules’ nonsense would still promote and foment violence on a grander scale. The problem is not with guns, but with politically correct crap, crooked bankers and politicians with an agenda, and an innocent herd of Sheeple shoved along within this non-standard environment.

Presuming a total absence of guns in the United States, we would expect a worse crime rate and a widespread use of other kinds of weapons, including but not limited to knives, baseball bats, setting fires, use of altered garage tools, bows of all kinds, other kinds of edged weapons and probably explosions using homemade nasties produced in high school chemistry classes. These suggestions are just simple alternatives used by criminals already having guns. Some deranged criminals have used cars and trucks as well as farm equipment to smash and crash private and public and property. Others have used weapons coming out of science labs we would rather not discuss whatsoever.

What’s the point? The point is that in states, or cities-town having reasonable gun laws permitting citizen protection, the criminals tend to stay away. The bad guys are afraid someone they might rob, or pick-on will be packing heat and just blow them away during the commission of a crime. I don’t care what any watery-eyed, whining, simpering, drooling liberal says; guns prevent crimes and it’s a proven fact.

Proponents of gun control are using an agenda of gradually imposing new controls as opposed to trying to ban all guns in one fell swoop using a wide-ranging bill, or new law.  The latest idea is to ban weapons like assault rifles having the ability to fire rapidly, using high capacity magazines. Further, it is said by gun control people, those kinds of guns can be illegally altered to perform on full-fire automatic. While this is true, that kind of behavior is illegal. Illegal behavior should be stopped using rules and laws already on the books.

America has a very long history of frontier-mentality where freedom and emphasis on related liberties were literally the foundation of this nation. Growth of too many new rules and laws instigated by congress people and their ilk at lower levels of government are trapping and squeezing the citizenry into an ever-tightening psychological vise. This vise is creating hard resentment and an increase
to the mental the boiling point as the Sheeple either push back, or are ready to, with a lot more force than most expect.

Those with patriot thinking, who for the most part hold ideas and old fashioned conservative virtues are under pressure from all fronts including freedom of speech and religion. Considering the number of guns out there and many of them not on the bureaurat’s radar, we would strongly suggest gun control advocates tread lightly and obey the exiting rules and laws of the United States. Messing with gunners could be a very big mistake.

We do not think proponents of gun control will win this protracted battle. Rather, if those thinking the opposite continue to push and squeeze, all of those guns might end-up being pointed at gun control people. We certainly hope events do not go there, but recent street action and mayhem suggests that is where it goes next.

Trying to control guns and ammunition in America would in our view have a legendary bad ending. Correcting anti-social behavior is a better idea. Broken families, social disasters, and financial mayhem inflicted by bureaurats to combat economic and familial ills of America won’t be remedied by gun control. Reserrection of conservative values and rules will do this. Families need to stick together in a cohesive manner instilling old fashioned ideas and values. Kids need to see good parents lead them by example. The correct answer will take years of positive adjustments. Let’s start today.

    TR:

    An excellent writing.

One caveat that I have: Should one decide to carry a concealed weapon where legal, I cannot emphsize enough the importance of proper training and practice and a thorough knowledge of the gun laws in each state.

My favorite reference is an inexpensive resource booklet written by an attorney which I purchase annually to make sure all of the annual changes to the gun laws in each state are updated. Gun ownership and evenconcealed carry has benefits but even more responsibility and the old maxim that ignorance of the law is no defense is even more applicable in the case of gun laws.

Not that I am for or against, just a wondering, does the n.d.a.a. and the f.b.i. terrorist list “trump” the right to own weapons?

Felony convictions trump the 2nd Amendment. (Unless you live in NJ or IL where they ignore the Amendment.)

wow: i grew up with guns and hunting etc. but these present day guns are unlike the three shot deer rifles , or double barrel shotguns that were around in the 50s. the automatics handguns , and assult rifes [that can be made into fully auto machineguns] . the enormous amount of bullets that can be sprayed out makes this a bigger problem. the assult rifles are really too much. and limits on clip capacity for handguns would be a help. too much firepower in the hands of strange people. love S

If you really grew up with guns, you would know the the semi-automotic assault rifles sold in the US civilian market are specifically made so that they cannot be converted to automatic weapons. If you really grew up with guns, you would know that making machine guns is illegal. When you really grow up, you will value your rights and not relinquish them for imaginary benefit.

        Good Afternoon Tex!

First of all, I admit that I do not have much knowledge when it comes to guns. When you said that “making machine guns is illegal” and “assault rifles sold in the U.S. civilian market are specifically made so that they cannot be converted to automatic weapons” brings up one question: Can you explain the following video please.

        http://www.tcguns.com/calendar.html

Please understand here, I’m not trying to be a smartalic, but when you posted those words above, it made me remember this video. It is from a local gun store near where I live and I am curious because it appears to me to be a machine gun of types. Thanks for your input and I appreciate your knowledge and your courage to stand up for what the law is about!

        stay frosty

        Hello Tex,

It takes a vet like you to put a bit of sensibility on this very interesting subject.

      Evening Scott,

I am a firm believer in the right to bear arms. I am also a firm believer in common sense.

What I am saying is that at this moment in time I completely agree with you.

Hi Tex, just stopped back to see if anyone knew what law was “trump” and read your post.
I dont know about semi automatics not being convertable, but I really cant see anyone that would make a machine gun caring about a law saying not to,
your point about “growing up” and not relinquishing rights for imaginary benifits, as the american people have just about givin up every “right” they had for imaginary security, I would say that most americans need to “grow up”
Try George Carlin about rights, he says ask the japanese and they will tell you the right you have is “right this way” and its off to the camps.

    Aug 13, 2012 13:44 PM

I wish people would expend their view of the “Bill of Rights”. In effect, these amendments simply order the government to stay out of areas of control, period. Yet, Americans have tolerated these on the 2nd amendment for a generation.

Startling evidence suggests that the Gun Control Act of 1968 was lifted, almost in its entirety, from Nazi legislation.

    http://jpfo.org/filegen-a-m/GCA_68.htm

And of course, under the UN umbrella, the goal is total disarmement of the individuals. England even attempted to demonize knifes with the idea to band them as well.

During the Great UN Gun Debate at King’s College in July of 2001, a UN spokesperson made this statement:

“Civilian ownership of firearms in the US threatens the legitimate powers monopoly of the state”

Now that it appears President Obama is preparing to sign a gun treaty with the UN, what does it mean for Americans and their right to bear arms?

      Aug 13, 2012 13:40 PM

The bigger question MissiveDuTexas is “what does President Obama mean for Americans?

      Big Al

Hi Missive. I believe I have mentioned before that the americans took the “propiganda” guys from the nazi’s along with von braun (the nuclear guy).
Whats happening in the states and has been happening is a step by step plan that
was created by the nazi’s in the 30’s. This is what facism looks like at this stage.
Very interesting post in the other thread about not owning your own monies,
    step by step we go.
No diffeance between Mr. “death squad” romney and Mr. “drone” obama other than their method. Nobody is going to, or can do anything, other than NOT vote for Ron Paul and liberty, maybe Carlin is correct, Just get a front row seat and watch the implosion.
