I am really concerned after hearing Al and Peter’s discussion on the possibilities of an Iran-Israel conflict in the very near future.

      Aug 25, 2012 25:46 AM

      Donald,
Israel is an island of democracy in an ocean of dictatorships. It is also the geopolitical focus of the world and mentioned well over 2000 times in the Bible. Will there be a conflict? You can count on it!!

        Aug 25, 2012 25:11 AM

To avoid the conflics Isreal only needs to stop commiting genocide.
As long as they continue, conflict is pretty much gauranteed.

          Aug 25, 2012 25:26 AM

          benb,
Your a little confused to say the least!!! its Iran that wants to wipe Israel off the face of the earth.

            Aug 25, 2012 25:12 PM

Karen. I think you need info.
Maybe start with a map of isreal 1946 and compare it to a 2012 map.
That with no words should explain exactly what Isreal is.
Or maybe look at the un reselutions regarding Isreal. etc.

I do understand people still believe what their governments tell them, but just so you know, an Iranian army has not left Iran since the time of Xerxes, and as the Isrealis are armed with the most advanced military in the region and about 250 nuclear weapons, I for one dont see Iran attacking Isreal any time soon.

            Aug 25, 2012 25:36 PM

            Afternoon benb,

That situation over there is really amazing to me.

I have friends who are Jews and I have friends who are Iranians.

I can tell anyone who wants to listen that the folks who I know want nothing to do with war.

            Best,

            Big Al

            Aug 25, 2012 25:20 PM

I said Iran, I should have said Persia.

            Aug 25, 2012 25:44 PM

THAT Al is exactly the point. It is NOT the people that want war, its the banks and governments. Just thinking about what Einstien said about insanity, doing the same thing over and over and expecting differant results.
Do we expect something differant from this election? Are we insane?

            Aug 25, 2012 25:44 PM

            That is soooo true, benb!

            Big Al

            Aug 25, 2012 25:51 PM

            benb,
The history of Israel goes back 3000 years. You need to go back a lot more than 1946 to have a full understanding of the situation.

            Aug 25, 2012 25:38 PM

Karen, look at the history of Iran for the last thousand years. They have no ambition for expantion, and unless you know Persian, don`t take our media`s word for what they say. In most cases, they spin to fit an agenda.

            Languages of Iran
            http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Languages_of_Iran

            Aug 25, 2012 25:42 PM

MISS DU…..I was checking the site you posted….it says there are 22 million “Western Persians”….what is the difference between a western and an eastern persian?

            Aug 25, 2012 25:21 PM

Some are from the west, some from the east…

Unless you`re communicating in Persian. In that case, I apologize, I thought it was english.

            Aug 27, 2012 27:38 AM

Hi Karen, benb, have you guys read `The Wolf and the Lamb` – Casey Research http:www.caseyresearch.com/cdd/wolf-and-lamb it sounds alot like Israel/Iran and our own type conflict here in America esp. those that are feeling bad about those who are losing their freedoms for being a veteran of former wars of yesterdays conflicts and being detained without warrant or stuck in jail for being in horror of past wrongs by persons or gov`t higher-ups of alleged conflicts perhaps in mind only. How much alleged spying going on by NSA when in fact its just going after those perceived to be a threat to national security because of is fitted a profile on the a past threat assessment of a Timothy McVeigh and he was a veteran of the 1st Gulf War. Iran was and is a thug on a world-wide stage. Look at Jimmy Carter in 1979 having to step down as President because it was the only way to grant release of hostages taken by the newly formed government by religious nuts….. Looking at both sides of what makes a conflict or its takes two to tango. Revenge isn`t nice but this is what`s been happening again and again throughout history. Though Israel wasn`t a nation again on paper, it still has existed throughout time same place but perhaps in the minds of individuals on and off for centuries but still a place where people lived without it being called a nation. Its only lines in the sands of time – where are the property lines be they what we call Arabs or the sons of Ishmael or for the sons of Israel….

        Aug 25, 2012 25:35 PM

“Israel is an island of democracy in an ocean of dictatorships.”

Ho boy, where do I start…

All these dictatorship where put in, financed and supported by the US since there inceptions. That includes the foreign invaders recently seen in Libya and Syria commonly knows as Al-Qaeda, a CIA controlled organization.

Try to think further than the first degree, which for some is simply accepting the mainstream media propaganda as truth.

Deep calleth unto deep at the noise of thy waterspouts: all thy waves and thy billows are gone over me. – Psalm 42:7

Of course I don’t listen to main stream media nor do I watch it.
The fact is Israel is surrounded :Zechariah 14

            Aug 26, 2012 26:51 AM

            Hi Karen.
Dont know if you will read this but maybe check RT today. Some Isreali vets have come out and informed the world as to what they are doing to palistinian children. You might find it interesting.
Yes Isreal is surrounded, it was created in the middle of arab nations.
I understand a discission as to whether the Isreali genocide (3000 ago)was “ordered by god” or perpitrated by a psychopath prone to halucinations that heard voices is ongoing, but lets leave that to theologians.
Just take the time to look at a map of modern isreals creation in 1946 and compare it to the 2012 map. Without too much thought it becomes obvious exactly what the isrealis are.
Which might actually be an unfair statment, there are many isrealis that do not support the genocide. Groups of jewish leaders have gone to iran, explained whats going on and expressed their desire for peace.
It might be more apprpriate to call it a zionist genocide.
The story of the creation of the zionist, and their activities during the 18-19 hundreds
might be one you find interesting as well.

            Aug 26, 2012 26:52 PM

Yes, Karen, Israel is surrounded on all sides.

That entire situation is a no-win for everyone, in my opinion.

When are you brilliant Gurus going to invite Andy Hoffman at Miles Franklin Ltd. to appear on your excellent blog. He publishes more good info in one “free” newsletter than anyone else does in a month! This guy is great! And he personally answers all questions. Phone is 800 822 8080 or Oremus, RH

      Aug 25, 2012 25:59 AM

      Love his “rants”

      Aug 25, 2012 25:59 AM

I think Miles will email you his letter…..

      Aug 25, 2012 25:41 AM

Yes! Much better than fakes like Brodrick!

        Aug 25, 2012 25:39 PM

        I am curious Matt R,

Why do you think Sean is a fake?

I actually purchased some silver a while back from Miles Franklin Ltd at the suggestion of David Morgan.

I will contact Andy. Thanks for the idea!

    PREMIUM EXPLORATION

    Hi Al,

In one of his his articles late last year Bob Moriarty suggests “I’d rather see them (PEM) monetize the Friday deposit by entering into some sort of production deal with a junior that wants to get into production and do the smallest raise possible.”

    http://www.321gold.com/editorials/moriarty/moriarty120511.html

    Doesn’t Bob have it right?
    What do you think Al?
Could you discuss this with Bob in an interview on your show?
Could you pose this question to Del in your next interview with PEM?

    Thanks
    Mike

      Aug 25, 2012 25:27 AM

      HI Mike,

Just sent Bob an e-mail and I am sure he would be willing to do just that.

      Big Al

        Aug 25, 2012 25:16 PM

Great. Thanks Al and much appreciated. Have a great weekend. Mike.

    Aug 25, 2012 25:07 AM

Looks like gold and silver are making a move. Will it last?

September 12th will be a big day, when the German court rules.

      Aug 25, 2012 25:16 PM

Bobby….that will be a big day….Sept…I bet they delay for at least 60 days….THIS will put the German’s answer after the Presidental Election Nov 6. and they can just kick the can down the road….and wait and blame the other for the down turn….and crash…

    Aug 25, 2012 25:32 AM

    Boy Big Al,
You came into and out of Segment one – with Sean – with both “guns blazin”! I personally loved it! Sean was also very FIRED UP! And you and him should be. The “dinner table is being set up” perfectly for a real significant move to the upside. What a real fun autumn it is going to be! Get your best running shoes on because it looks like a nice sprint in the “hard asset” global race track is in the offing. Let’s go – we ALL have been waiting patiently for this and I am jacked.
    All the best,
    Marc

      Aug 25, 2012 25:40 AM

      BTW, Big Al,
You asked me for a reliable source for the China comment of purchasing/committing to 5k to 6k tonnes of gold before the year’s end….all my research indicated that this was a rumour (sp?) that was going around and blogged/commented on in various professional columns. The reason I mentioned this was that Sean ALSO was alluding to this in segment one. He is a reliable guy – and had the confidence to bring it up on your show. The Chinese, as you know, won’t verify anything – good for them – too much to lose in this “global poker game”. But, I will tell everybody now, I think it is VERY prudent to act like they are holding a FULL HOUSE rather than EIGHTS AND ACES – the “DEAD MAN’S HAND….they are far from DEAD!
      Marc

      Aug 25, 2012 25:21 AM

Marc….if you look at the silver chart for 30 days….looks like the move of $4 , is a very good move… $26.80 TO 30.78….,the move up…is in progress….

        Aug 25, 2012 25:35 AM

Certainly hope that you are correct,In the Box!

        Aug 25, 2012 25:37 AM

Yep, yep and double YEP…Jerry 🙂

    Aug 25, 2012 25:52 AM

    Big Al,
Finally, don’t worry about AURCANA..they went down for NO reason..now they are back up past .92c a share…good enough….:)

      Aug 25, 2012 25:14 AM

I would of liked Lenic to have answered the water availabilty issue on the conference call. The question was presented to him in a compound fashion…he addressed the non water portion but did not address a concern I have.. How are they supplying Shafter operations with H2O economically.

        Aug 25, 2012 25:37 AM

        Morning Dennis M,

I will call him this week. He is a hard guy to get hold of because he is so busy.

        Best,

        Big Al

    Aug 25, 2012 25:16 AM

Hi Big Al, hope all’s well. This might be the most stupid question of the weekend. I bought into NZ Energy right at the begining (when you highlighted it) cos I believe it’s a great company and still do. My question is why do you think the share price is so volatile, it seems to me it’s a very stable company…any thoughts?

      Aug 25, 2012 25:42 PM

      Afternoon Nigel,

I would guess the volatility is the result of the non-sensible market that we are currently in.

      I personally like NZ.

      Big Al

    Aug 25, 2012 25:28 AM

Question: would buying LEAPS call options on SLV next week with an expiration date in January 2015 offer as much potential profit as buying shares in a promising silver junior mining company, say like Fortuna Silver Mines, First Majestic, or Scorpio Mining?

I look forward to hearing peoples’ thoughts.

    Great weekend show!

    Al:

Another out of the ballpark week-end show…………………………….

      Aug 25, 2012 25:34 AM

      Okay Dai Uy,

I will start to root for the Cougars with the exception of the Apple Cup.

By the way, the Times had a great article today about the remodel (partial) of Martin Stadium. Looking pretty good.

How about you and your wife join Kathy and I for dinner during the Silver Summit. Fletcher’s is a great steak house. (Hope I have the name right.)

      Big Al

        Aug 25, 2012 25:44 PM

        Al:

Fair enough………..I too will cheer for your beloved Huskies except for the Apple Cup. Easy enough, as half of my siblings are Huskies including my late farmer, rancher, cowboy Dad who was both; the rest are Cougs.

Dinner sounds great…………will bring a bright Husky, former UNC fermale Prof, with me to keep you and your lovely entertained. Please invite TR and spouse if any there be. My treat………..Much less expensive than all the financial newsletters that I’ve dropped and much more valuable and informative. Will be on the Island next month.

        Best

        Dai Uy

Am your senior to the month; perhaps to the day………17th.

          Aug 25, 2012 25:47 PM

I still want 22 points in your opener……………..

            Aug 26, 2012 26:56 PM

            Tell you what Dai Uy,

I will give you 22 points. How about we bet a drink before dinner in Spokane? (I could be showing my stupidity by taking this bet!)

            Big Al

          Aug 26, 2012 26:55 PM

          Howdy,

When will you be on the island?

          Big Al

            Aug 27, 2012 27:22 AM

Al: The drink wager is accepted. I plan on being on the Island sometime during the week of Sept. 19-26.

            Aug 27, 2012 27:10 PM

Unfortunately Dai Uy I will be in Chicago.

You are on for dinner! Kathy and I are looking forward to it.

By the way Al, too many of your guests seem to still hold the Money Master`s paradigme about government finances. If the government can and does have the power to print money or delegate that power to a third corrupt party (in the US, it is called the Federal Reserve), it certainly can print it to make sure the people don`t go without food and shelter. Cutting social programs WILL NOT solve the problem. PROSECUTING the guilty under the RICO act will be a good start.

Top Economists: Iceland Did It Right … And Everyone Else Is Doing It Wrong
Posted on August 25, 2012 by WashingtonsBlog
    Iceland Shows the Way

Nobel prize winning economist Joe Stiglitz notes:

What Iceland did was right. It would have been wrong to burden future generations with the mistakes of the financial system.

And Stiglitz is not on my “most favored economist”, just as China should not be on the “most favored trading nation” of the US Congress.

    THE DANGER OF PRECIVED SAFETY
How many people have been injured as a result of perceived safety?
Because our cars are pillowed with airbags do some tend to drive less safe in reliance on the promised cushion?
Do helmetless motorcycle drivers pay more attention than those forced to wear the device.
Do depositors of a bank not care about the bank’s practices because of the FDIC ultimate taxpayer’s backstop?
Do people with guaranteed government healthcare engage in unhealthy lifestyles more so than they would if they had to shell out for a doctor’s visit?
Do people save less because of the promise of social security?
Do people save less fearing the fear the nursing home will “get everything”?
Have perverse incentives helped us harm ourselves?
Have well intentioned programs caused more harm than good?
Is a world that is manipulated in attempts to remove danger in fact more dangerous than it would have been had nothing been attempted?
Should we have known better or was it all part of a sinister plan?

      Aug 26, 2012 26:02 PM

      Hi Dennis,
Awhile back in time 95% of retired people needed Social Security to live on. Probably for all of the reasons you mentioned. What a shame, living in the worlds greatest economy. I’m glad to be in the 5% minority. It’s simple. Just prepare for all things in ones life. Best to you.

Hi Al, good show as always, nice to hear Louis James on segment 6 really enjoyed hearing of Pretium Resources Inc., its grade of gold is phenomenon ! Also gold that Louis James refered to in segment 5… was a word lefted out of in its description of its being `rare` ie. hard to find. Whereas paper-cloth money is as plentiful as tolet paper is currently. The only thing that when paper currency becomes so worthless it too will have become something worth to it for stamp collectors to collect as have as old greenbacks have & as to old paper food stamps have instead of using debit cards now something stamp collectors will desire to have…… When hearing of Pretium gold of from 3,874g/t Au to 8,330g/t gold grades, I thought that perhaps they had discovered some gold I may have discovered, but after I looked at the mines info I was happy that they had only discovered only free gold but not salt gold that I have discovered – don`t want a gold rush on my stuff. Good to see perhaps somebody really doing really good mining for a change instead of mines that look like they were so out of reach as to be gold shot from a shotgun type mine so to speak….
