A great American, telling it the way it is, and caring alot for this country. Thank you, Clint.

It’s interesting the spin that Eastwood is getting Al. “Republicans may appreciate it, but others think it’s strange” is what one headline read. I’ve seen a lot from Whoopi Goldberg or Matt Damon over the years, yet headlines were never worded “Democrats may appreciate it, but others think it’s strange…”.

Oh yeh, John W, the coverage is interesting.

A great American no doubt. Makes so many non Americans wish they were American.

Why was Col. Allen West not invited to speak?

Why was Sen. Ron Paul not invited to speak? More than likely he is a decent man. Yes the media completely ignored him or mentioned him in passing that he has no chance. In my humble opinion, Ron Paul went overboard when he called Gaza concentration camp.

Did you know that gaza the concentration camp has 600 millionaires?

Have you ever watched an otherwise terrific movie but the leading “star’s” political commentaries detracted from the movie. I have. It is difficult to divorce politics from art, especially went the objective of the art is politics. Even though I love a Bruce Springstein song the taint cannot be avoided in any listening.
But after last night….I have declared this Labor Day Weekend…..Clint Eastwood Weekend…..I will watch all of Clint’s movies with pleasure excepting any the movie with an Orangutan.

    Aug 31, 2012 31:22 PM

Egypt cut gas supply to isreal, works to improve relations with Iran, iran and hamas are buds, none of them appreciate Isreal. Somthing in that article doesnt add up. This is one I would want conformation on.
Maybe, there are 600 millionares in gaza. Doesnt justify Isreali actions there.
I didnt think there was anything of actual substance in Clints speach. Other than “vote for Romny” not obama. If the election were not rigged the republicans would only need Arnie to speak now and they would be a shoe in.

      Aug 31, 2012 31:39 PM

benb…..ARNIE,is not good for the party of women….Where more than one wife is acceptable in Mormanizim, the other wives need to know she is part of the group and not an outside hussler..Arnie would have been ok , if Maria, knew about it in advance, of course he would have been shot…..it is one of those Kennedy things….Arnie , is a distant memory for politics….especially for the women….he is a two timer…..

        Sep 01, 2012 01:19 AM

Yep, In the Box, absolutely correct in my opinion.

        Big Al

        Sep 01, 2012 01:15 PM

Hi Jerry, guess you got me there with arnie. My point was actually any ol hollywood/sports person would do, just change arnie for any name you want. Peoples opinions will go with whoever it is. People seem to be ready to forget ryans voting record or where bain capital got its cash pretty quickly. Or that romney is itching to support the U.S. “ally” even if they do attack U.S. ships.and dont conform to U.N. “requests” Its a rigged game, a vote for iether party is to support the charade.
A vote for liberty is a Ron Paul write in. Maybe Clint made his day but not the american peoples by a long shot. But I too have always loved his acting. The game is rigged, your watching an act. Maybe I am wrong, nice if I was.

          Sep 01, 2012 01:13 PM

benb…..just having fun with you…..I do agree that hollywood and sports do draw a certain group….that needs to be associated with winners….or what they think are winners……but, mostly that group has a had time in reality….

      Sep 01, 2012 01:16 AM

Sure nothing new in Eastwood’s speech, benb.

But, it did get my emotions in the right direction.

A good many vablluaes you’ve given me.

    Aug 31, 2012 31:26 PM

I saw Clint in commercials praising the comeback of Detroit. I don`t watch tivi, still saw that. Somehow, and although I probably saw every single movie the gentleman appeared in, I believe he is just another puppet of the establishment. The only question remaining is willingly or unwillingly….

Anyway, I’m telling you right now again. The establishment want a hot confrontation, and Bho is their man. Mitten is just playing his part in the play.

      Aug 31, 2012 31:10 PM

Maybe he realized his legacy in film will be left to those who can look at a gun and appreciate as a tool.

      Sep 01, 2012 01:17 AM

I actually think that you are making a good point, Missive!

      Big Al

    Aug 31, 2012 31:51 PM

Missive, you sound like shakespere, all the world being a stage.
I for 1 agree with you.

    Aug 31, 2012 31:32 PM

Was reading a few quotes from Romney that I found interesting:
In June 2012, Romney said “I can assure you, if I’m President, the Iranians will have no question but that I would be willing to take military action if necessary to prevent them from becoming a nuclear threat to the world.” In his July 2012 trip to Israel he said that preventing Iran from obtaining a nuclear “capability” should be America’s “highest national security priority.
Romney has accused China of “cheating” and “stealing American jobs”. He warned China that if he is elected to the White House, there will be consequences for unfair trade, saying: “Unless China changes its ways, on day one of my presidency I will designate it a currency manipulator and take appropriate counteraction.” and “A trade war with China is the last thing I want, but I cannot tolerate our current trade surrender.”

      Aug 31, 2012 31:37 PM

Well, its nice to know he has a good understanding of whats going on.
He must have, there is no way he would mislead the people.

      Sep 01, 2012 01:43 AM

Matt – Go look at Bho`s promises during the 2008 election campaign. He made the exact same promises, but never made good on any.

As for Iran and the nuclear issue, they are signataries of the IAEA and are in compliance, so all the paranoïa about the nuclear threat is just a nice way to keep welfare money going to the military industrial complex.

        Sep 01, 2012 01:32 AM

Isn’t that what they all do, Missive?

        Big Al

      Sep 01, 2012 01:21 AM

If he gets elected Matt, the truth will be in the pudding as they say.

UNATTENDED DINNER SALADS IS A SMALL PRICE TO PAY

You would think after a Republican National Convention all that could be said would have been not only said but also met with rousing cheers.
This observer saw a plethora of words avoiding the target.
After forfeiting one day due to a common wind and rain the next three days lacked for the most part a fire for effect message.
Politics is not a kid glove event.
Sometimes it is known that the adversary is not a gentleman.
In such an instance the adversary should be treated as such.
    Why not fire for effect.
We currently ignore the distinction between an argument on the merits and a naked derogatory remark.
In the scheme of things we think nothing has changed.
But history indicates available merit based punches were not pulled.
Andrew Jackson’s wife was brought front and center in a sultry way.
She died before President Jackson arrived to the swamp of DC.
When an easy target like President Obama is treated by the straight-eight-inch-hair-parts with such deference I can only conclude we witness a façade.
A façade similar to the Western town sets Clint Eastwood presented justice.
Do we live in a Potemkin village?
Is it not true that truth is waning?
Is truth fading from our conversation?
Why not talk about…..politics…religion… at dinner….or at the local pub.
Truth has been banished so evil can win.
It is now or never that the unafraid speak up and deny restrictions on what is proper to discuss. There may very well be dinner salads left unattended. What a small price to pay in the scheme of things!

      Sep 01, 2012 01:25 AM

I particularly like your comment: It is now or never that the unafraid speak up and deny restrictions on what is proper to discuss. There may very well be dinner salads left unattended. What a small price to pay in the scheme of things!

Just pointing out that Mitt has taken a position on Iran and China that is quite confrontational.
Personally,I don’t see China doing anything that the Europeans and Americans have not done or would do.Mitt parks his American cash offshore and is pointing fingers? That is painfully ironic and hypocritical. Why do you think all those American companies set up shop in China,Mitt?
As for Iran,I don’t think a military conflict is what the world needs-or wants.

I like Clint Eastwood, but I think his time has come to take a less active role. I think his behaviour was odd, and his message garbled.
I can’t get it into my head that anybody can accept Romney as an alternative to Ron Paul. Ther is no good candidate left, and no choice. No vote seems logical.

I completely agree. He seemed confused and lost by trying to improvise his thoughts and comments. It was kinda sad see his presentation in person, it was very painful to watch – when his acting is so smooth and very well done. See acting is NOTHING like real life……DUH!!!!!!!

It was painful and a bit embarrassing. Witness the muted response from the honchos at the GOP. Too bad, great actor.

    Sep 03, 2012 03:10 AM

Hollywood (Moviebusiness) has more or less one purpose, to tell stories about the Past, present or future to emotionalize their customers (us)! Sad Stories, Happy Stories, true stories (well they are kind of true) and even fairy tales are told.

Clint Eastwood is an Actor! Actually i think he is (or was) a great Actor, so he gets to be called a “STAR”.

But Al, please tell me what makes him a Hero?

    Sep 03, 2012 03:39 PM

Al never called him a ‘hero’.
‘Keep Stacking’ called him a ‘great American’.
I agree with Mike in that any superficial DD on Hollywood and it’s role in mind control is fairly well documented.
