I really like Ron Hera but Dr. Ron Paul was pushed aside and I don’t know how many people I have to say this too but his policy of bringing the troops home will not fly with the American electorate of either party.

They still see Uncle Sam as the policeman of The World which is an anachronism from nationalist and imperialist thinking of the past.

When people are suffering whether it is war related or a natural disaster and when politicians from opposing parties come together we should not look at this as an end game. People are suffering and that’s what matters. At first I didn’t like seeing Governor Christie embracing Obama, even though we realize that they are playing games but there are people suffering and they need help. we need to forget the rivalries. This election will tell you more about whether you have enough ammo than whether you have enough invested in the metals.
I hope I hear the phrases “silent majority”, “moral majority” and “tea party re-emergence” tonight instead of “Cuyahoga County/Madison Iowa Judge rules polls to remain open”.

      My thoughts exactly, Dennis M!

Here are some last minute thoughts on how to vote.

A number of people have stated that they are not prepared to vote for the lesser of two evils. From a philosophical point of view this makes sense. From a practical point of view, however, maybe it doesn’t.

We’ve faced the same situation in Canada, and at the time I thought I was not going to allow myself to be reduced to having to identify and and then vote for what I thought would be the lesser evil.

But consider this: we live in a world of “Realpolitik”. Sometimes the best we can do is try to limit the damage and go with the lesser evil.

Sad as this may be – spoiling one’s vote will not help bring about the lesser evil. If you think that one of the two candidates will cause less damage than the other, vote for him! This is the best option.

No difference at all between the two? Economically, not much.

    Socially?

Romney will not emphasize some the socially corrosive policies like gay marriage and push the introduction of the “Gender Mainstreaming” concept in education.

It will probably come anyways, but with Obama these things will come quicker.

      Hi Peter,

If it made any difference in my state, Washington, I would agree with you.

I think that given my environment, a vote for Ron Paul is a pretty strong statement from me.

      Best,

Romney has no platform whatsoever other than ‘big business’. I think American people are smarter than that and know there is far more to running a country than just blabbing off to the world repeatedly how much money your companies made. While Obama isn’t perfect by any means, he at least has a grasp of the many issues facing people today and not just focusing on making rich people richer, as Romney intends to.

The only point that I would make is to ask folks to consider the experience that Obama brought to office in 2008 as compared to the experience that Romney brings.

Remember, I don’t have a dog in the fight as I wrote in Ron Paul.

There’s no doubt in my mind that I would take the businessman and the salesman over the back roads incumbent. DT

You mean the “back roads incumbent” who had all that relevant experience in 2008? (Sarcasm!)

Maybe it doesnt matter who people vote for.
RT already reports the voting machines are easily “hacked”

As voters in the Midwest state hit the polls hard to help elect the next president, US District Judge Gregory Frost has been figuring out how to handle a lawsuit entered on Monday that calls into question an allegedly top-secret software patch that the Ohio secretary of state signed off on installing on electronic voting machines from Columbus to Cleveland
