Lets, talk about HOUSING STARTS, OR NEW MORTGAGES…………I bet forclosures are up starting in 2014…..My basis is,, that will be eight(8) months from now, and plenty of time for the new home owners, to start missing payments, even though they, are only required to put 3% down,,,,NO SKIN IN THE GAME,,,,After they wear out the carpet, they can just move to a new rental,,,,,in stead of replacing the carpet, and paint the walls themselves…………..WHO ARE THESE 3% DOWN PEOPLE,….THE ones that do not have enough money to put up more, and those who are leveraged to the hilt……………90days from the traditional BR………..JUST my thinking OOTB,
Oh,,,I forgot, these people are most likely on food stamps or some type of welfare,or have children, or family members on welfare that are living with them…….Tight budgets, going into a failed economy…..with the prospects of higher energy cost…………..does not look good………….

Jeff is correct: Hillary has a lot of momentum. But I’m NOT advocating here; I’m lamenting–and unfortunately, I don’t share Jeff’s optimism for a R presidential victory.

If all that the Rs can bring to the table is Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi–blah, blah, blah, then the Rs lose. Seems to me the outing of CIA agents by the Rs to coverup the ‘yellow cake from Niger’ hoax put upon the world by Bush & Blair trumps Benghazi–which was a covert operation that went bad. How ironic that papa Bush once said outing agents was treason; then along comes junior and does just that. “Oh lord, my God….”

As far as the economy goes, the blame is a toss up in my mind, with equal (dis)credit to both sides.

Rand Paul is not Ron Paul; he may ride his father’s coat tails only so far. His politics are different and lack widespread grassroots appeal because Wall Street does not wear well on Main Street, and he has cast his lot along with other R frontrunners. Best we can hope for is gridlock: House & Senate (Rs), White House (D). And quite frankly, neither side can be trusted with complete control; both sides have proven to be equally egregious when given the opportunity to ‘do the right thing’.

So it’s going to be interesting. Instead of pounding on Benghazi, the Rs might be better served to remind America the Obama Care is in fact Hillary Care–and the damage is only beginning.

bj………..as long as people think we have two parties, it will stay as it is ….messed up. When the people ,who are on welfare, do not get the check, or the check is less, than the amount to heat their home, or feed their face, ……then the revolt will begin, and no R OR D….will make any difference, just like it does not make any difference now…………….The only thing ,that will matter, will be , have you prepared.

        Jun 01, 2013 01:46 PM

oh,,,I agree with you on RAND…….he has already showed his true colors, and they are not the same as his dad…………

          Jun 01, 2013 01:51 PM

I`m voting for Rand Paul, I get his feed on my Facebook page and he`s a bull terrier, he`ll be the leader of the pack for sure, & Ron Paul`s other feed`s that I get are very supportive of him too, he`s a power to be reckon with IMHO.

          Jun 02, 2013 02:05 PM

          DENNIS…..how ya doing…….What we need is a PIT BULL, not a terrier….(joke)…..ootb

            Jun 02, 2013 02:19 PM

I had an American Bull Terrier, they are a precursor to what is known as a Pit Bull. It takes an American Bull Terrier, plus an England Bull Dog to get a Pit Bull. But my dog was a sweety pie, in fact she got chased by three neighbor`s cat`s…….

    Somewhat on topic:

    On March 15, 2012 at 4:47 pm,
    Dennis M. O’Neil says:

An interesting question which made me think of a highly instructive quote from Austrian Economist Ludwig Von Mises:

Before I get to the quote it is useful to fully appreciate the quote evidences the motive for why history has followed it’s path, that is:
    When it comes to scandals……
    Liberals circle the wagons……..
Conservatives tend to cut bait and run.

When a ‘scandal’ hits the left engages non-denial denial strategies until literally the stained laundry is removed from the intern’s closet….then rally the troops and still defend perjury because he works ‘hard’ in the oval office…..now demonstrated by DNA evidence to be the truth….which apparently he lied about….because it depends about what the meaning of hard is.
    Can you believe it!

Think about John Edwards if his campaign love child was reported in something other than the National Enquirer in Dec 2007 he would have been out of the campaign pre-Iowa or his vote tally insignificant…Hillary would have won Iowa and Obama would be organizing charity golf outings in Chicago.

Then we have Timothy Gietner who is in charge of the Treasury and IRS which makes all the rules Turbo Tax needs to map out software for except he cannot seem to figure our Turbo Tax. He was the one that they had to have. It must be if you cannot find someone who is Turbo Tax capable to be Treasury Secretary that what your need him for relates to exactly why he could not ‘figure out’ Turbo Tax.

Now take Sarah Palin a logical principle and OMG religious conservative who just happens to be beauty queen hot….and she has to be run through the wringer. The only spark for 2008 John McCain was Palin……. and as skilled Saul Alinsky tactics suggest clear the playing field……she needs to be destroyed call Katie Couric and Saturday Night Live. Note in every Obama election all the way to his first his opponents are decimated by a barage of negatives.

I posted an interesting video of Ronald Reagan on this site….. his words constituted well written common sense and life lessons….but remember the road Reagan took was vilified at every chance ….derided as a dim witted B actor….as he would say…”WELL”…did they tear that wall down.

When you know you will lose an argument on the merits….but you are desparate to win in a Machiavellian way….you will get your knives out.

Hear is Mises quote…read it a couple times it is like a whole book in one paragraph:
“Marxism protects itself against all unwelcome criticism. The enemy is not refuted: it is enough to mask him as bourgeois. Marx and Engles never tried to refute their opponents with argument. They insulted, ridiculed, derided, slandered and traduced them, and in the use of these methods their followers are not less expert. Their polemic is directed never against the argument of the opponent but always against the person. Few have been able to withstand such tactics. Few indeed have been courageous enough to oppose Socialism with that remorseless criticism which it is the only duty of the Scientific to apply to every subject of inquiry. Only thus is it to be explained the fact that supporters and opponents of Socialism have unquestionably obeyed the prohibition which Marxism has laid on any closer discussion of the economic and social conditions of the Socialist community. Marxism declares on the one hand that the socialization of the means of production is the end towards which economic evolution leads with inevitability of natural law; on the other hand it represents such socialization as the aim of its political effort. In this way he expounded the first principal of socialist organization. The purpose of the prohibition to study the working of the socialist community, which was justified by a series of threadbare arguments, was really intended to prevent the weakness of Marxist doctrines from coming to light in discussions regarding the creation of a practicable socialist society. A clear exposition of the nature of socialist society might have damped the enthusiasm of the masses, who sought in Socialism salvation from all earthly ills. The successful suppression of these dangerous inquiries, which had brought about the downfall of all other socialist theories, was one of Marx’s most skilful tactical moves. Only because people were not allowed to talk or to think about the nature of the socialist community was Socialism able to become the dominant political movement of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.”

Von Mises, Ludwig, Socialism, An Economic and Sociological Analysis, Translation J. Kahane. 1951

Watergate was a minor scandal well publicized and poorly responded to.

I believe a larger scandal can be found in Solyndra…fast and furious….or forged birth certificates. As they present larger scandals with more corrupt motives for consideration than a politically motivated clandestine break in.

Golf Tip……Never smoke a cigar handed to you by Bill Clinton.

I wonder where individual Rs & Ds stand on the Trans Pacific Partnership Treaty currently being negotiated in secrecy. Not even the mainstream (corporate) media wants to touch this one. Instead, they talk about the weather!

What you folks don’t seem to understand is that IT DOES NOT MATTER WHO IS ELECTED. The US is in terminal decay……..and collapse ultimately…..a slow water torture for those who stay.
What appears to be a working society is but a mirage.

I’m in Europe at the moment; back in just over a week.
    Bahamas were good.
Gibralter still safe but tightening up for non-Europeans.
Spanish economy appears worse than reported (My impression from a week in Barcelona)
English economy appears better than reported. (The coalition Government appears to understand the problem, at least. Although not able to move as much as they should, they do realize taxation and welfare is a drag on any economy.) On to Luxembourg next.
