I only heard the US is going to supply small calibre arms and ammunition.

NOT that the US is going in…..?

    Jun 14, 2013 14:03 AM

Mr Moriarty is incorrect, in my opinion, in that Assad has, indeed, used chemical weapons. Incidentally, the ones that came in trucks from Iraq on the first day of the first Iraq War.

The whole issue is about the deep water port of Tartus that the Russians need as a base for the Easter Mediterranean. Without the legitimacy of having access to Syria the Russian fleet has no reason to be sailing the Med and would not be welcome if they showed up with nuclear submarines or aircraft carriers.

As it stands now, Russian naval ambitions are primarily limited to their host ports on the Black Sea but there is a pinch point at the Bosporus ultimately controlled by Turkey who may open or close it at will.

The Russians want that little Tartus port because by convention they are therefore free to come and go as they please. It is extremely strategic for them. Everyone else wants them gone which pretty much nullifies any point of them having a Southern fleet if Assad’s overthrow brings in a new government hostile to Russia.

All this is just a chess game and little to be alarmed over. Supporting the upcoming regime in Syria, regardless of who they are, is seen as a solution to ending a 40 year irritant for European nations including Turkey who don’t appreciate the kind of hardware the Russians have been floating around the region.

Assad’s ouster is the best opportunity that has come along in all those decades to change the geopolitics of the region and end the easy import of arms and weaponry that is being acquired by those seeking retribution on Israel and by those governments intent on fomenting regional discord.

It matters not that those seeking to overthrow Assad are deemed terrorist or not….only that they will renege on past agreements with Russia on the issue of the port as they have clearly been instrumental in providing the weapons that have killed so many Syrians.

Russian support of Assad has in effect pitted that country against the majority of the Syrian public. They are going to get booted as a result and some US support for the groups fighting on the front lines will propel that event along more quickly

So this is all about transportation, weapons supply, docks and rights of passage.

How can we go into Syria without Congress declaring war? Will these gutless wonders in Congress ever step up and vet this nonsense?

The US claimed sometime back that Syria was using chemical weapons. Now they “affirm” it even though the UN said it wasn’t so. But who ‘affirmed’ it (just like Iraq mobile WMD and yellow cake from Niger). What exactly were the chemicals Assad used? All we get is broad generalities.

Also, Turkey (our dear NATO ally that Israel attacked on the high seas a while back) is now using chemical weapons against its people to put down riots. But before we panic, it was tear gas. So I wonder if Assad used tear gas as well and those who are spoiling for yet another undeclared war are again hoodwinking the public to that end.

      Jun 14, 2013 14:33 AM

The French analysed blood from some bodies killed in Syria, and stated that they had died from exposure to Sarin.
Sarin, often called a nerve gas, is actually a high-volativity liquid. This was also a chemical that was used by Saddam against Iran during the Iraq-Iran war.

        Jun 14, 2013 14:42 AM

I meant Volatility not volativity. i.e. vaporises easily.

        Jun 14, 2013 14:37 PM

        Maybe so, maybe not.

Remember, Bush claimed British Intelligence gave us the Yellow cake from Niger intel; and now the French are doing autopsies on dead Syrians. How did they get into the picture.

All this need to get cleared up; and regardless unilateral action is a bad idea. The only way to set a ‘safe zone’ is to conquer territory for a safe zone. Invading a sovereign country is an act of war; so is meddling in the internal affairs of a foreign country and sponsoring revolutions. The only thing good about the latter is we’re not wasting American blood on another aimless war with endless mission creep.

`The terrible future of the Syrian war` on page 2 `Samples of a particular Sarin gas incident have allegedly been collected by French journalists from La Monda newspaper, and have been supplied to the UN. The UN ….. & immediately led the public to believe that the Syrian government was involved, > though they have been forced to acknowledge that `the insurgents` may also have access to simlar chemical weapons…….. The truth is always the first thing lost in the fog of war. This is why our Constitution mandates a declaration of war–and in the due process at least try to discover the truth while it still matters. Unfortunately, Congress is populated with cowards who refuse to accept their Constitutional responsibilities–the more crucial issue, the faster they run away from it..

We deserve to know the truth, but the NSA has little credibility and the media is just a bunch shills. This is not going to end well. That’s bad for everyone, but good for gold.

Bob is totaly correct, we support canables against Assad, Assad is protecting freedom of religion which include christians. I wish the western christians would smarten up and educate themselves about whats going on instead of pointless stuff, but they would actually have to get their noses out of their books and LOOK at whats going on. George Carlin is correct, “dumb as bricks” we need to stop supporting genocide just because its ok in christian books. Goes for Judeism and Moslem too.

Bob is correct, the west is wrong, the question is “How the H@LL do we stop them?”

    Jun 14, 2013 14:38 AM

Sure, how convenient that they are using chemical weapons.

So now we can invade. THis is contemptible behavior by the US AND Israel.

Just like Saddam Hussein had chemical/biological weapons.

This is disgusting. Get the parasites out of my government.

Who can you trust? What sources of reporting and people have the highest integrity? These are troubling times and it is very difficult to know who, what and when to trust. Saying that is one thing, but what to do is another. Everyone should ask for themselves these questions and then make their own decisions.

Who do I trust and have confidence in for integrity. The two people above, Bob Moriarty and Alan Butler are true Nights and can be trusted. Others I trust and pay close attention to are Jim Sinclair, Andy Hoffman, Alasdair Macleod and Egon von Greyerz for starters. Others not on my mind could probably be listed, but I would not include anyone who uses exclusively charting for their analysis because they no not what is happening.

clay, CORRECTION: BM and AB are true KNIGHTS

        Jun 15, 2013 15:25 AM

No BIRD…..he did not mean you….besides You are a KNIGHT OWL……….

            Jun 15, 2013 15:18 PM

Not really. I am a lot closer to your time zone than Jerry’s though and it is amusing he noticed I only post when he is fast asleep.

What time zone are you in bird…..I thought you were in SACK., Canada…..

            Jun 15, 2013 15:53 PM

Cario time zone, Jerry. Not too far from the action.

            Jun 16, 2013 16:11 AM

Oops, meant Cairo time. Is it any wonder I am so crabby most days? I have not had bacon and eggs in a year. No smoked ham sandwiches or decent sausages either. Nobody eats pork in the Mid East/ North Africa. Just sheep, goats and camel as far as the eye can see…….you get used to it…..kind of…….

    Jun 14, 2013 14:58 AM

The sad thing is that “choosing” sides between Assad and the rebels is very foolish; not only because of the effect on the Russians, but also because on the one side is a choice of an evilDictator, but on the other side is a choice of supporting fanatical (pro-shria-law) muslims. A Pox on both their houses is my opinion.
Notwithstanding a decree that the above statement should be considered a hate-crime felony, I affirm my right under the first amendment to maintain that Sharia Law is a return to the dark ages mentality of considering women as chattels or property; something which I find and believe all civilised society should find unacceptable.

    Jun 14, 2013 14:30 PM

I agree cfs, for me, I only need look at the story in the koran, die for god and get whatever number of virgins (women) for eternity. How more low could you place women? It amases me that people refuse to see their religions for what they are.

Sorry to all religous people, I understand that a person has to believe in somthing, I just cant understand why common sense is not employed. Not until we end this makeing one set of people slaves or chattel ends are we going to get anywhere positive as a species. Until then, we are going to be faceing this “syria” scenario over and over just as we have been doing until their is nothing left of any of us.

      Jun 14, 2013 14:05 PM

Benb, sounds like what the mormons have in mormonism…. more BS.., but it is noted that the early church believed in no interest in advance of a loan, same with jewish law in O.T., under the law of Moses. The Koran, was written back in the middle ages, three hundred years after the death of Mohammed, its got in its some O.T., some sections of the gospels of the N.T., alot of crap like what`s in the book of mormon, meaningless BS. Probablily from smoking too much pot type weed, an LSD type drug………….

        Jun 14, 2013 14:26 PM

Hi Dennis, I ramble and spew today, Bob got me going. I just cant stand this Syria/Iran everybody is bad but our side garbage. I really dislike that if we went to war we have no choice but to support our side, the only thing worse than war is loseing one. I digress.

I have to be clear, I see nothing wrong with confusious, or budda or mohamed or Jesus or the great spirit or any of them/
. I see them as attempting to give us clues on how to live in a prosperous peace and all should be respected for their attempts.
To me its the people recording their work that make errors, thats what makes the religions less than they could be. I have no problem with the “prophets” or “teachers” or “speakers” but the religions? Genocide is justified, slavery includes rape, medical experimentation, murder, mutilation, pediphilia and if you dont like it, it eternal torture for you, and its justified. But the gods speak love? Am I the only 1 that sees there is somthing wrong?
I will never believe there is justification for pediphilia and those that try are just plain wrong in my opinion.

          Jun 15, 2013 15:54 PM

I`m not for supporting the Banksters foreign policy of making people slaves. My side would run & be running for cover to escape what this government is doing right now in the world today. But `support our side`, `this side that you support is al-Qaeda`. http://personalliberty.com/2013/06/05/the-sinister-truth-about-obama-and-islam/ this is what our fearless leader Obama is all about, this is what he wants my country to be. Its either you take a stand or you will be its next victim……

Ron Paul destroys neo-con argument on Syria poison gas http://youtu.be/0CgAP_gBEPQ Ron Paul is on my side, he and his son Rand Paul is on my side as well. Obama and his Banksters buddies that are the Bank of England – the Rothschilds main bank in the world. These banksters are everybodies enemies, these guys are terrorists, only greed and misery are what these people want. World Domination is what the Banksters want, its 666 for all mankind.

      Jun 14, 2013 14:04 PM

bemb, you and I are more kindred spirits than you might ever suppose. If you’ve got a Kindle and a spare 4 or 5 bucks you might like to check me out on Amazon. I hate with a passion so much spurious religion (as ‘A Candle for Lucifer’ makes plain) ! For it is only to that ‘true religion’ as spoken of by Jesus that I am drawn.

Further point if you can get hold of that brave soul Irshad Manji’s book (The trouble with Islam today) you’ll see that the word virgin is in fact a misprint for the word – wait for it – RAISIN!! So even if they’re lucky most would-be martyrs stand to inherit no more than a fistful of dried grapes!

Bob, Alan THANKYOU for so many points all of which sound entirely valid. Just as the West invented WMD as the reason for going into Iraq, so now Syria’s Assad seems to have magically been shown to have used chemical weapons. How very convenient.

With Bush having had his poodle Tony Blair follow him into Iraq, so Obama has got his own lapdog in Cameron who, puffed up with righteous indignation declares (with no bill going through Parliament) that Britain too will involve itself in arming the rebels in Syria.

Only by speaking out do we begin to halt all these morons in their tracks!

        Jun 14, 2013 14:36 PM

Hi Andrew, I think all roads eventually lead to Rome, just the scenery is differant.
We will get there wherever it is. Funny your raisins, I have heard of this happening a time or two, seems logical it would, a great deal of translating going on.
I believe if the religions accepted that the recordings were done by men and not gods it would be easy for people to discuss errors and the illogical, but when they believe that gods do the writing they are forced to justify, and they do, even pedephilia, its just beyond logic to me. I am so glad that when I got of age to ask my parents “does God exist?” their answer was “thats somthing you have to decide for yourself” As children we believe what we hear with no defense, and it sticks with us the rest of our lives. Therin lies the argument that free will is taken from children.
Has to do with the way the mind works.

          Jun 14, 2013 14:30 PM

My mom was a mormon, her family from Utah were mormons, my dad was a free mason & mormon too, into that one world order crap. After my dad died of cancer from working with his bomb buddies at DOD. My mom went to find who God really was, & it was Jesus. My mom was a super Democrat to her dying day. My family thought I was nutts for believing the way I do, but the Bible believe actually works. And I know it was written by men. For God is a spirit, they that worship him, worship him in spirit and truth. Holy men of ole wrote as the Holy Spirit moved on them to write. Logical no! Not to one who doesn`t believe. Even they of the O.T., didn`t know what they themselves wrote. I`ve used my faith(Mark 11:23-24; Matthew 21:21-22; Matthew 18:19, etc., Isaiah 55:11) and effected a change in the world(nature) around me on various times(hundreds of times) since believing in Jesus. So I know it works. As I know that putting certain chemicals together you can leach an ore to produce gold, Pd, Pt, Ag. Is it logical no! But it does work just the same. Its not fiat, its not magic out of thin air, but faith is believing in the heart out to the unseen to seeing it the way I want to see it. Calling those things that are not, as though they have already do exist, is what faith is. Hebrews 11:1) `Now` faith `is`……. its always in the now, present tense. Not tomorrow, nor yesterday, but right now. `Before Abraham was, *I am` as Jesus said of Himself in John 8:58; Exodus 3:13-14) And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT, *I AM……..

          Jun 15, 2013 15:40 AM

You’re so right Bemb. Although I remain eternally grateful for my parents’ Christian faith, boy, did I have to fight my corner to make any sense of it. At the root of any of this lies is that as Erich Fromm said: ‘Love is the only sane and satisfactory answer to the problem of human existence’.
          Loveless religion is anathema!

          Best, A

        Jun 14, 2013 14:54 PM

Thats right MORONS are right thats for sure, just look at the word for Mormon, just cross out the `r` in Mormon and you get moron, its funny, well its even funnier when you get to read from what the angel(`Moroni` said, something of that spelling), I kid you not, this book was a bunch of put togethers, by an illiterate moron, Joseph Smith Jr., probably out digging into the ground looking for those so-called gold plates, that this book was printed with. I can see what he probably saw looking over his flock, a bunch of suckers……

          Jun 15, 2013 15:22 PM

OOOPS just found another mistake in spelling `just cross out the “r“ in Mormon` should be `just cross out the “m“ in Mormon and you get moran, its funny,`….. now the NSA can read this better, though I think computers are good servants they can`t think, only report what is said, to people that don`t even give a damn…

Why does anyone say The Iraq War was a disaster, what do you think Vietnam was, Afghanistan, Korea. DT

      Jun 14, 2013 14:13 PM

All disasters DT. But all disasters cheerfully written into the script as Edward Griffin portrays it in his The Creature from Jekyll Island. The powerbrokers use war as the most effective tool for controlling the world.

        Jun 14, 2013 14:26 PM

War is always insane, no matter who is involved and for what reasons. Most major wars end in the decline of one empire and the start of another but the human toll can never be measured because it is always bad.

If man cannot learn to settle his disputes by peaceful negotiation then we aren’t intelligent enough as a species to be dominant. We will be replaced by a smarter form of life and disappear forever. DT

          1000 yeses deep!

            Jun 15, 2013 15:44 AM

We must be living on different planets. All wars have control and access to key resources at their heart. The stuff that differentiates “us from them” is the wealth of minerals, energy and food within our sphere of influence. At the local level this is easier to appreciate. If your adversary is making attempts to take your crops that you personally sweat to produce then it is natural you will come into conflict with them. For the US and the collection of developed economies the sphere of influence is just larger and encompasses much of the planet. The wealth contained there is what sustains our societies and whether it is right or wrong, we are wealthy because of that reach. Unless all of you are prepared to sacrifice your living standards, walk instead or ride, carry water home instead of having it piped and pumped and wear extra sweaters instead of turning up the thermostat then you had better get on board and support the home team. What makes our economies tick always comes down to energy, metals, mines and food. If you guys cannot understand something so simple as that you will never appreciate nor understand how the world works.

Dear Bob Moriarty……no we will not lose.

    PS: Gold is going down.

BOTTOM LINE……………When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice.,,,but, when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn….Proverbs 29-2

    Jun 15, 2013 15:17 PM

Proverbs is wonderful Jerry – timeless wisdom., A

      Jun 15, 2013 15:51 PM

I read Proverbs too. It is indeed timeless wisdom. But does it make me better? When Christians battle Christians whose side does God take? We know from the accounts that the Crusaders killed almost as many of their own as they did Muslims in the day. All in the name of the Lord of course. Mindless sheep following scripture instead of thinking for themselves. So I don’t appreciate Jerry’s quote as it rings hollow from a historical perspective even if it sounds good and pithy for the moment. Just biblical rhetoric that adds no value to the conversation.

Jerry….just say what you mean instead of couching it in quotes from the past.

THE ANSWER…..to your first question….is no…..because WE are all SINNER, AND HAVE FALLEN SHORT…….

The answer to you next ,thought is…..You need to know who sent the Crusaders,,,,
and why they went…………..You, do not know I can tell, by your answer. And you
are lacking knowledge as it concerns “CHRISTIANS” ,,,,

Biblical rhetoric……Well, if one had some understanding concerning scripture, one could enlighten one’s self as to the problems ,the world is facing and it would not be some much of a burden to understand who is in control of the world……
and why at this time , some of the issues are and need to come to pass,,,,

Couching it in quotes…………….I simply wrote a verse, that applies thur out history, and time………..when the govt. rulers are cruel, people get hurt…….When we have good and controlled govt…things go better……

Bird……History……….Why did the Pilgrims…Come to AMERICAN IN 1606?
Since, you are a Canadian….you surely know English History…..
If, you know English history , then you can unravel the difference in CHRISTIANS
Let’s go back to 1130 , who was chasing the Christians up and down the PIEDMONT
IN Italy? and who tried to exterminate the Christians …..you might get a clue,
to some of you questions which you put forth……Respectfully…..truly……Jerry

NEXT…..”Just biblical rhetoric., no value to conversation……WHAT IS THE TOPIC,
Middle EAST….who are the players?…..ISREAL ,,,do you think?,,,,
Why are we concerned with ISREAL?……I think it is in the Bible…..do not tread lightly on GODS word..for the WORD IS for instruction and wisdom…..And the DEVIL AND SATINS playmates of the World are playing in their playground at this moment…..

          Jun 15, 2013 15:19 PM

So true. We have all fallen short.

EPHESIANS 6:12……For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but, against principalities ,against powers , against the rulers of the darkness of this world ,against
    spiritual wickedness in high places.

      Jun 15, 2013 15:17 PM

AMEN. AMEN, AMEN, but take up the whole armour of God, that you may be able to withstand in that evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, having on the breastplate of righteousness; and your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith you shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplications in the Sp;irit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all staints; And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak……. Grace with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen.

        AND AMEN…………… thanks for sharing……….

          Jun 16, 2013 16:16 AM

I especially love books like Ephesians being one of Paul’s post-captivity epistles when, it seems, his words grow softer yet stronger through his suffering, A

I am glad you mentioned Paul……let’s us know where we stand concerning truth, and the message we are given today…..Until, Christians , understand the mystery message Paul was given, and until Christians can rightly divide the word, ….we shall continue to look foolish to the world………

Hi Jerry, as far as we are on this subject, your quote goes to the meat of the subject in that we do wrestle not with flesh & blood, but the demons, fallen angels, Satan himself, that are in the air around us, they are spirits wanting to destroy us and all that are made after the image of God. Satan can`t get to God, so he out to get us, his children, and since its Father`s day his kids are in need everywhere in this world. …….. So taking authority over all the princes and the power of the air in the name of your holy child Jesus, we bind you up all the enemies and their demons that they harm not the people, and loose ministering angels to protect those little ones in the faith from harm. I plead the Blood of the Lamb of God over us today. Praise the name of Jesus, for God inhabits the praise of his people.

Hi Jerry, fellow traveler, like minded kindred,……now this is a video of a persons ministry that I`ve learned so much from Kenneth E. Hagin, the Believer`s Authority 01 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aikNbkFdt9A , of course there will be snears from those who don`t believe, who cares. I don`t what if the NSA is watching, if so it will be good at least for their benefit, it is through the preaching of the Word that may be foolish to them, but it is the power of through salavation, that we hear his Word that we are saved. I can`t save, but Jesus through His Word saves, through the power of the Holy Spirit, imparted from his word that is preach, taught, whatever way that people get to see or hear His living Word.

DENNIS THANKS FOR THE POST………….just got back…………ditto on the demons,,,and….Satin……..What is good news, is Satin is getting finished off, and he is now going to be FINISHED IN HEAVENLY PLACES……….Satin, will not be allow to continue as he thought…………God is winning and has won..'” On earth, as it is in Heaven..”

That is a good quote, Jerry. Thing is nothing has really changed about human nature in 10,000 years. Only the tools employed by those who seek to hold and keep power have evolved and as always the spoils go to the victors. Is it really any different than how Homo Sapiens defeated Cro-Magnons and Neanderthals with better technology, spears, poison darts and snares? Have we not learned throughout history that technology and social organization is what sets us apart from our competitors? Embracing religion and the virtues of the words written two thousand years ago is great but winning means employing the new tools to take the competitive advantage from those less willing to evolve and go forward.

BIRD…..competitive advantage…………..is the word…..anything else,is foolishness, as has been proven thur out history………………..
