Putin says U.S. guided by ‘the rule of the gun’ in foreign policy

This is a very interesting subject to all of us here at the Korelin Economics Report. Please give us your opinions on this subject. Please do not construe this as being anti American. It is simply an example of free speeeh. This is courtesy of Reuters:

(Reuters) – Russian President Vladimir Putin accused the United States on Monday of being guided in its foreign policy not by international law but by the “rule of the gun.”

“Our Western partners headed by the United States prefer not to be guided by international law in their practical policies, but by the rule of the gun,” he told a joint session of parliament.

“They have come to believe in their exceptionalism and their sense of being the chosen ones. That they can decide the destinies of the world, that it is only them who can be right.”

We have seen the enemy and the enemy is us….yikes! It happens all the time. History is littered with such occurrences. Where did we go wrong? You might ask: Well, human nature is the guide – and if you are not careful you will be destined to follow it…to the bitter end. The only way to thwart this is to pray and pray some more for guidance, wisdom and discernment…..our leaders do none of this. Hence, problems abound in our international foreign policy.

Most of them don’t seem to, do they Marc?

America played a unique roll in helping the world make it through the 20th Century.

That said, we have supported a variety of puppet governments, gotten involved in international disputes where we had no place and often exhibit a double standard. Enabling factors: having the world’s reserve currency and the largest and most powerful military in world history.

Whether we are living through a transition in all of that is an open issue. I think we may increasingly lose the ability to finance the international forays that we have become accustomed to.

With regard to Putin — a KGB Colonel who has little basis for the moral high ground.

      Some very good points Eric.

Making it through the 20th century, I agree.

Regarding your comments about Putin, of course you are correct in my mind.

My only point is that I personally feel that the U.S. is mishandling many international situations. (Maybe I just think too much!)

I think you are right, Al. Pretty incredible when the leader of Russia scores higher in some public opinion polls in the US than our own leader. Who would have ever guessed that we could have seen that in our lifetimes?

        Mar 19, 2014 19:36 AM

Big Al, there`s a FEMA Camp waiting for us all. DHS has got a bullet waiting for us all who live in the US(S)A, & a drone to kill us in foreign lands. We are but cattle to the elites & thought police who govern us under the rule of their guns. Those who wish to flee better do so soon or face utter destruction. We are ruled by serial killers who lust for power and are driven by greed of gain. Those Nazis that were judged at Nuremberg in 1945-6, had no Empathy for their victims, they were devoid of that emotion. Our current Nazis, who rule with that rod of iron have the same evil in their natures today. Demons live forever. John 10:10) The thief(the devil) cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I(Jesus) am come that they might have life, and that they might have life more abundantly. – – Evil is.

End ALL foreign aid! If you want to help Russia or Israel or Egypt, feel free to cut a personal check. Also, while we are at it, let US get out of the United Nations, that cesspool of corruption masquerading as the world’s best hope for peace.

      Mar 18, 2014 18:49 AM

Can’t end foreign aid because it all goes to support corporate America on foreign soil. How can you steal foreign country gold and other natural resources, establish Western central banking and destroy the sovereignty of foreign entities if we aren’t in the middle of creating dysfunction and death with foreign aid. If you want any of this to change we have to put corporate America, the Fed, Treasury, Congress and most of the last 50 years of Presidential Administrations in jail. The US foreign policy does not include a free market approach. It is based on force…thus, the largest military budget in the world. However the banks have now guaranteed the failure of the US economic system as the man on the street has been led to believe exists. Can’t use standard thought processes for a corrupted fascist system.

        Mar 18, 2014 18:08 AM

David….Well said , & I agree…….The leadership in the US “MUST” be ousted , & the power to rule the world by the zion bankers , MUST be destroyed.

          Mar 18, 2014 18:11 AM

I really don’t think that it is quite that simple, Mr. Irish

            Mar 18, 2014 18:42 AM

Al……You may be right , it may not be that simple….but it’s a start, the people MUST start taking responsibility for their future….the government has failed them , big time.

        Mar 18, 2014 18:11 AM

Aren’t you glad David, that we still have free speech!

      Mar 18, 2014 18:09 AM

You and Ron Paul. (And, probably me!)

    Mar 18, 2014 18:10 AM

First and foremost…there is no going back! The USA is ‘on the road to serfdom’.
I do have a wish/solution that the people in power push the petal to the metal and
whether if it’s slamming into a brick wall or falling off the cliff, some event scare’s the American people so much that they final stop and start paying attention.

Joeseph, doubt if that will happen, I don’t know of anything that doesn’t run in cycles, the american empire is on a cycle, the people are always the same, Christian, pagen, Sikh etc. All cycles finish once started, this one will finish too.

Look at history to see whats coming, nothing to fear if we recognise it and prepare.

        Mar 18, 2014 18:13 AM

        True, b!

        Mar 18, 2014 18:17 AM

b…..history is the window into the future.

      Mar 18, 2014 18:12 AM

I don’t see that happening, Joseph.

      Mar 18, 2014 18:14 AM

Joseph…….The people wont pay attention as long as they have television. Its the instrument that’s been used by the elite to dumb down the population , & the people don’t realise it.

        Mar 18, 2014 18:09 PM

I framed this comment not to praise or demonize Putin…the problem
        is with the America people.

I think the Russian people are lucky to have a nation strong enough to voice this publicly and a leader strong enough to say it.

If Canada or Mexico came out and listed the things the american government has done we would be crushed.

      Mar 18, 2014 18:14 AM

I think that it is more of a case of “really what can the U.S. do?”

    Mar 18, 2014 18:28 AM

Putin is correct. I find most traditional conservative people in the West, if they are well informed, like Putin better than their own leaders.
BTW, the Russian stock market is making a powerful rally back, as can be seen through the ticker RUSL. I’m not in though.

    Mar 18, 2014 18:47 AM

Criticizing the US and its tendency to foreign entanglements is something which has a history of being rewarded.

Good grief Dennis – is that the same guy? The one who speaks of the Vietnam war representing ‘the height of criminal hypocrisy’????

        Mar 18, 2014 18:20 AM

I believe this is absolute proof that a leopard can change its spots!

      Mar 18, 2014 18:20 AM

I find it disgraceful that Mr. Kerry is wearing a uniform shirt with decoration and, with his long hair, looks like a typical 1960 hippy. Talk about grand standing huh Dennis?

      Mar 18, 2014 18:22 AM

No proof as of 11:22 a.m. pst that it was done by Russian soldiers.

    Mar 18, 2014 18:21 AM

It’s all our own fault…..We spent too much time voting for party’s , instead of voting for change.

    Mar 18, 2014 18:23 AM

Mr. Irish, how about “not voting for the person”?

      Mar 18, 2014 18:00 PM

COR..AL…Now that would be the RIGHT THING TO DO…Is it going to happen ? I doubt it…..Here in the UK , over many years , I have asked people why they voted for a particular party & the answers I always got were…my family have always voted X….or the other answer was the other party was useless & I would say to them why don’t you vote independent or the third party , you know the two main partys are the same…..most of them could not answer me…..you see no free thinking.

        Mar 18, 2014 18:04 PM

Hopefully Mr. Irish, more free thinking is now happening.

          Mar 18, 2014 18:11 PM

Al…in order for people to do the right thing…they must first think what is the right thing to do ………but alas many cant be bothered……..what a shame.

        Mar 18, 2014 18:05 PM

& if I could not think for myself….& X offered me a freebee. like a phone , then I would vote for them over Y……

          Mar 18, 2014 18:57 PM

Yep Mr. Irish, but fortunately you do think for yourself!

    Mar 18, 2014 18:44 PM

Both Russia and the U.S. have employed destructive policies, foreign and domestic. Russia will not blink; I forecast that our leaders will mostly bluster about. Perhaps another grand gathering at the White House, after a stylish trip to Europe, with more pomp than solution, will be in the cards of our leader(s).

      Mar 18, 2014 18:57 PM

      Wouldn’t that be interesting!

    Mar 19, 2014 19:46 AM

    Putin is the statesman
    Obama ???????????
Both are repressive, pick your poison
