Welcome!

A friend sent me this important missive.

Big Al
April 26, 2014

A friend sent me this missive about five minutes ago. I WOULD STRONGLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU DO A BIT OF RESEARCH ON IT. We will be doing an editorial on it later this weekend.

This vote took place about one year ago in March of 2013.

 HOORAY – a 53-46 vote
The U.N. Resolution 2117 lists 21 points dealing with firearms control, but perhaps of most interest is point number 11. It: “CALLS FOR MEMBER STATES TO SUPPORT WEAPONS COLLECTION and DISARMAMENT of all UN countries”.
By a 53-46 vote – The U.S. Senate voted against the U.N. resolution.  HOORAY.
Now, Which 46 Senators Voted to Destroy Us? Well, let their names become known ! See below . If you vote in one of the states listed with these 46 “legis..traitors”… vote against them.

In a 53-46 vote, the Senate narrowly passed a measure that will stop the United States from entering into the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty.  The Statement of Purpose from the Senate Bill reads:  “To uphold Second Amendment rights and prevent the United States from entering into the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty.”  The U.N. Small Arms Treaty, which has been championed by the Obama Administration, would have effectively placed a global ban on the import and export of small firearms.  The ban would have affected all private gun owners in the U.S. and had language that would have implemented an international gun registry, now get this, onall private guns and ammo.
Astonishingly, 46 out of our 100 United States Senators were willing to give away our Constitutional rights to a foreign power.
Here are the 46 senators who voted to give your rights to the U.N.
Baldwin (D-WI)
Baucus (D-MT)

I sure do hope this goes viral.

      So do I!

By the way, notice that Ms Pelosi did not vote for it.

        Apr 26, 2014 26:47 AM

She’s a member of the House of Representatives, Al.

          Just testing!

      Reverend,

I have a couple of comments regarding Mr. Bundy.

First of all, he does owe the government about $1 million. Yes, I think the actions taken by the BLM were certainly excessive, But the fact of the matter is that he did owe the money.

Secondly, his comments regarding black folks were stupid given the situation he is currently in.

Unfortunately, he looks like a bit of a fool to most of the world.

That is too bad because were that situation handled differently he could have looked like a real hero.

“Stupid is as stupid does” in the words of the immortal Forest Gump!

    For agenda read Amendment!

GREAT List. I wonder how many of these 46 are non-believers, i.e., NOT Christians – My bet is 90% of them are aetheists. Cheers

    Great comment from Dan Kurz:

Hi Al, hi Cory: I am VERY relieved, like you, that UN resolution to strip us of our anti-tyranny 2nd Amendment rights was blocked by the GOP in the Senate.

Sadly, the Dems’ pathetic, despotic Constitution-trashing history is once again plain for all to see that care to look. Hardly anyone knows nowadays, esp. with the Pravda press reporting, that the Democratic party was the party of slavery and segregation – while the GOP was the anti-slavery/liberty party (what a wonderful heritage). The Democratic party remains the anti-liberty, anti-free market, race-baiting, racist (affirmative action or codified discrimination) party. It demands conformity and uniformity. The goal: radical egalitarianism.

Sadly, RINOs/crony capitalists control the GOP. This typically gives us a choice between either “big government with a left blinker” or “big government with a right blinker.” Either variation, coupled with an activist SCOTUS and an out-of-control, non-elected bureaucracy issuing fiat edicts, is increasingly rendering our unparalleled Constitution a “dead letter.” Meanwhile, while our federalist, constitutional republic is being consumed by the very federal government that the states gave birth to! Our only hopes, in my view, to resurrect our Constitution are two-fold: one, displace the RINOs with lots of Constitutionalists/Tea Party members/citizen legislators; two, actively pursue and use Article V of the Constitution, i.e., do an end run around the federal leviathan via state legislators. We live in threatening and also exciting times. Democracy/the rule of law/constitutional republics are sadly exceptional (brief) periods as shown by history. Usually, we are under one form of tyranny/dictatorship or another. Here’s hoping that we can stem the tide and beat the historical odds: great nations with republican forms of government have lasted only 200 years on average (Alexander Tyler, Scottish professor of history, 1887); our beloved republic is already long in the tooth by this count.

My thought on non-gold, scarce real asset (my strong penchant here remains ag and dense energy assets) allocation idea contributions to your show: that I focus on the global macro/demographic issues (demand side) and the supply constraints on the other. I have a wealth of material here to share to highlight why investments here should yield promising long-term returns. I can also make selective slides, even slideshows, available. “All that” would set the stage for “vertical industry” investments, which I would hand off to you/others. I state this because I know your emphasis is not only on scarce real assets, but on investing in same via small caps. Please let me know your thoughts …

    Have a great weekend,
    Dan

“Here’s hoping that we can stem the tide and beat the historical odds:” Wishful thinking, I’m afraid, and the reason is twofold : 1 ) human nature doesn’t change; and 2 ) too few Americans have studied the lessons of history well enough to recognize that “Here we go again.”. And somewhere, Santayana is laughing hysterically. Probably will Franz Kafka chiming in.

      DAN:
You were making an excellent. EXCELLENT point on the weekend show and Big AL wanted to go another direction – BUT, yes…in the 1930’s the highest allocation to GOLD was what 1.6%. I think your point is that now it is hovering just around that…what if that really starts to tilt upward and the demand for PHYSICAL starts to run away as EVERYBODY wants to “protect” themselves…geez, the consequences would be MASSIVE FOR the nominal price of GOLD and SILVER! David McIlvany stated that if you just own 30 OUNCES of physical GOLD you are in the top 1% of all gold holders in the world!!? If that is correct goodness help the countless others that have NONE….yikes! Most people on this site will fair well ( I mean 30 ounces isnt really a lot – per se) but in terms of the entire populations…..WOW!!

    Apr 26, 2014 26:07 AM

    GIMINY…:)

    Apr 26, 2014 26:25 AM

just read a book the Bush Tragedy written by jacob weisberg, very telling about young bush[43] and why he and karl rove and dick chenny messed up the iraq war so bad. very insightfull behind the scenes stuff. Also see movie W for a visual insight to young bush. herbert hover looks a lot better, after looking at bush. His anger towards his father and brothers is strong. Remaking Islamic countrys into democracys did not work and is not working now. Pray for peace. S

      Apr 26, 2014 26:36 AM

      Pray for peace, good luck!

That hasn’t worked for 2000 years….there has been more killing in the name of religion than any other reason…some of the biggest hypocrites are those claiming to be religious faiths.

        Apr 26, 2014 26:47 AM

The two groups that scare me most are the Religious Left and the Religious Right.

Jesus would have us take off our shirt to clothe the poor as an act of charity.

The Religious Left would take the shirt off your back to give it to someone else in the name of justice.

The Religious Right would burn you at the stake but only AFTER taking your shirt for themselves.

All I can say is praise the Lord and pass the ammunition.

          Apr 26, 2014 26:06 PM

          wow….pretty good..bj..pretty darn good…..yikes!!

          Apr 27, 2014 27:14 AM

I personally think that your comments about the religious left and the religious right are a bit of a generalization. (And, I don’t always agree with either of these sides!)

        Apr 27, 2014 27:11 AM

Very unfortunately “Original” history has proven you correct. At least so far!

      Apr 27, 2014 27:09 AM

      And probably never will work.

I thought that W was kind of an interesting movie.

My personal take on George W is that he is a good person who made some mistakes. I certainly don’t think that he is particularly evil and I certainly don’t think that he is anywhere near stupid as some do.

Ulterior motives for business reasons? Maybe some.

I agree with Dr. Paul who once told me that Iraq was all about the oil. Taking personal gain out of the mix, I would like to think that this centered more around national security.

It is a complicated world, who knows!

      Apr 27, 2014 27:10 AM

Pray for peace Scotty? That goes without saying!

      Apr 26, 2014 26:10 PM

I dont bother to read Armstrong – but he is “spot on”!

        Apr 26, 2014 26:44 PM

Well Marty is the only economic guru who suggested NOW is not gold time, he has not been bullish since 2011 highs and following him would have made you a lot smarter, lol

Eventually he does see $5g gold after the US economy starts its full on tanking Oct 2015…but its not inflation related as that was his reason for lower gold, NO inflation but it will be lack of confidence in global governments that shoots gold way up…we here who follow gold are already in that mindset but 95% are still tuning into reality tv and are 100% clueless

          Apr 26, 2014 26:44 PM

I’m VERY skeptical of ANYTHING Mr. Armstrong says after his sudden, inexplicable release from prison. I think he just got tired of having his sphincter being turned into a full-scale, working replica of the Holland Tunnel and has decided to “… go along to get along.”. Be VERY wary of ANYTHING Mr. Armstrong says henceforth. His comments smack of trying to serve God and Mammon at the same time.

            Apr 26, 2014 26:47 PM

With that comment towards anyone who has spent time in jail, I wish Al had an ignore button because you would be my first!…what an ignorant, mindless moron you are

    Apr 26, 2014 26:02 PM

NATURALLY THEY ARE ALL …………..DEMO-WHITS…….and one INDP.

    Apr 26, 2014 26:09 PM

These politicians can have my weapons when they pull them off my cold blue fingers.

      Apr 26, 2014 26:46 PM

Speaking of removing weapons Fred, what would happen if the US makes gold illegal?….its not like they never have, history repeats!

      Apr 26, 2014 26:53 PM

Well, ‘Fred”, today’s your lucky day. Because you won’t have to worry about “them” prying your guns from your “… cold, blue fingers”. No, they’ll be prying them from your still-warm, maybe even still-alive fingers, as they point the barrel of THEIR gun right between your eyes and finish you off with one last shot as you beg for mercy and scream for your Mommy.

        Apr 27, 2014 27:19 AM

        Interesting point.

By the way, one last time, I really meant that comment about Ms. Pelosi as a bit of a joke.

    Apr 26, 2014 26:59 PM

    original jj says:
With that comment towards anyone who has spent time in jail, I wish Al had an ignore button because you would be my first!…what an ignorant, mindless moron you are

It’s ok “jj” people always HATE the TRUTH when it isn’t what they want to hear. Schopenhauer summed it up succinctly.

    Apr 26, 2014 26:10 PM

Yo, Al ! First thing Monday, have your web people install an “Ignore” button so we don’t run the risk of “jj” having a cerebral aneurism from reading anything that might upset their poor, little, delicate psyche.

      Apr 26, 2014 26:33 PM

Spoken like a true American……how proud you must be, sad!

    Apr 27, 2014 27:48 AM

I’m with the Dallas Dude in that Armstrong is severely compromised. This has been widely discussed by the PM community.

      Apr 27, 2014 27:21 AM

Glen Downs is a friend of Armstrong. I don’t personally know him. Since we appear to have interest in him on our site, I will look into this.

      Apr 28, 2014 28:17 AM

Sadly, I have to agree with you Matt
