The Israeli military said Hamas infiltrated Israeli territory near a communal farm and killed five soldiers on guard nearby. A Hamas gunman was also killed in the attack. Israeli media reported a soldier shot and killed him while he was dragging one of the bodies back to the tunnel.

The military said Palestinian militants fired at least 64 rockets Tuesday at Israeli cities. Israel has said its troops will not leave Gaza until they have demolished the sophisticated network of Hamas attack tunnels under the Gaza-Israel border and inflicted major damage on the group’s arsenal and rocket launchers.

The Israelis got upset. Took out all electrical power to Gaza city!

Sheesh….this is going to upset the news media.

      Jul 31, 2014 31:16 AM

Thanks for the update CFS. Exactly as I hoped for. The tunnels have got to be smashed.

      Among others Professor.

And I do agree with Bird. This has got to stop. (Free will to those who should not have it be a uhh as they will never pass the ultimate test!)

What does everybody expect from tomorrow’s jobs report? I am expecting some crazy number like 250,000 jobs created. They have to support the fake GDP print.

      Jul 31, 2014 31:30 PM

      Chris…..WRONG…WRONG…WRONG….250,000,00they like their zeros.

What difference does it make………..what the number will be …………it is FALSE…

      Jul 31, 2014 31:11 AM

Of course it matters… I want to see if the market is going to go along with the propaganda… and how gold and silver will react.

you already know , the market should react one way, but, it will totally be something else, which the manipulators have arranged…….beside, the market will go higher , because all the people that are left are chasing higher returns. This is just smoke and mirrors, with no one seeing self reflection.

        Jul 31, 2014 31:31 PM

So far, Chris, the markets don’t deeply be buying it!

      Jul 31, 2014 31:47 AM

Of course the numbers are false! Therefore they have little or no value except as evidence in any future trial for financial crimes against humanity. A financial liar can get you financially killed. I’ve already been financially killed once and the buggers are trying for an encore.

What is upsetting the media and people in general is the fact that 3 Israeli civilians have died while 1,300 Palestinians have died.
Hamas are using the general population to fight a war of public opinion and they are winning hands down.
Israel can never win anything in this manner. In fact,Israel is losing or has lost the support it once has.
This is no win for anybody, especially the civilians that continue to die for the propaganda campaign that is ongoing to abolish Israel.

      Jul 31, 2014 31:20 AM

Yeah, probably not Matt. We have seen many wars there over the years that drew worse criticism and they were all quickly forgotten once they ended. Same as always. Once the story is off the front pages something else will obsess TV viewers. Most likely next event will make this war look rather tame by comparison.

      Jul 31, 2014 31:33 PM

      Completely agree, Matt.

    Jul 31, 2014 31:20 AM

There is no talk of sanctions against Israel now from the western world. All are silent.
Israelis are quite brilliant solving the death of 3 by killing over 1100 and over 50 of their own soldiers. The US is basically the biggest Jewish state and the Europeans can’t think for themselves and are in the same bed.
The market is great for my holdings today. My large position in gopro doing well. I added more on the dip it has bounced back up sharply.

    Jul 31, 2014 31:27 AM

Bird,I have seen a sea change in perception of Israel over the last twenty years.
The Arabs have always used Palestine and Palestinians to fight the Israeli’s.
The Arab world will never stop arming militants to abolish the state.
It is the war that will never end until there is complete destruction.

      Jul 31, 2014 31:42 AM

Matt, this is just a prelude to other larger and unrelated conflicts springing up around the world at this time. It will fade quickly in peoples minds as there are more serious worries developing elsewhere. What is taking place now is that Israel is securing its borders well in advance of a time when the US administration is preoccupied elsewhere. Call it strategic. Hamas needs to be demobilized and disarmed before larger threats in the region come to the forefront. Can’t fight more than one battle at a time. This is intended to neutralize a major irritant and threat that might otherwise distract from problems that are coming down the road. It must be carried to completion.

        Jul 31, 2014 31:18 AM

I don’t know the solution to the Gaza/Palestine/Israel issue but I very much doubt blowing up a few tunnels and destroying Gaza’s infrastructure will achieve any sort of long-lasting peace which surely the innocents on both sides deserve

          Jul 31, 2014 31:48 PM

Yes they certainly do deserve it Nigel!

      Jul 31, 2014 31:52 AM

I agree! It all started in 1948 when the Jews got the funny idea that it was better to steal real estate than to buy it. And better to rob and kill Palestinians rather than to treat them with respect and be good neighbors. Now there will never be peace until there is absolute victory one way or another.

        Jul 31, 2014 31:49 PM

I am not sure the Jews stole anything.

        Please explain that to me.

        Thanks

        Jul 31, 2014 31:30 PM

Nice post, Steve. Concerning 1948, when six Arab countries attacked the infant State of Israel, you really seem to know your history!

On The Daily Show a couple nights ago, the guest was saying the right thing to do about these kids entering the U.S. is accept them, I guess in Honduras especially they are just being murderd if they don’t work for drug cartels.
I guess they are legitimate refugees.
Anyway, the comment of not being able to afford them is a question of priorities, trillions on war or so many other positive things is a choice, but they could easily be “afforded” if helping people was a goal.

Bull trades Rick? I agree. Almost too much is lining up at the same time to concentrate on. I don’t know if you agree with my thesis for a summer melt but at this moment the probability that buyers will keep buying the dip have lessened. And that means just one thing. something else is going to start moving. I think the market is in the mood to blow some froth off the top and they want it done primarily in August before traders return in force next month.

About that GDP report Al……don’t you know that good news is bad news! George Costanza did a great skit years back. He was doing a routine where he had everyone laughing and so he decided he was going out on a high note. A great GDP print is like that. A signal to get out before the party sours. So here you go….this is all you need to know about how the market views good news!

Seinfeld – George goes out on a high note.

I must admit I really don’t get that (historic) lawsuit other then for political gains. Obama issued 180 executive orders to date, Reagan and Clinton double that amount in their presedency. What’s different now?
