Obama’s 6-point plan for defeating ISIS

September 11, 2014

Don’t worry Obama has a plan for fighting ISIS. With so many different groups groping for power everyone has to be aware of who would be next in line to take leadership of the area. I believe this is a no win situation and the more everything escalates in terms of other countries getting involved the scarier it gets back home.

      Morning CFS,

This is truly a unique situation.

I have read some compelling essays outlining why we should let the Middle Eastern countries go it alone. The best one was on a service that Chris Temple recommended called Straffor.

I am no expert on the Middle East, but I believe the initial mistake was taking out Sudam H.

The various factions over there are comprised of people who I simply do not understand.

The U.S. going in pretty much alone certainly does not seem the prudent action to be taking.

It is only to get on Russian nerves. Recall there was a plan to take out Assad before and do a little house clean in Syria but that was essentially blocked by Russia and Chinese intransigence in the UN Security council. It has not been forgotten. ISIL now offers the opportunity for a reprise and entry into Syria by US forces (the real plan) ostensibly to kick ISIL’s ass. But this time with more broad public support than before. It will be harder for the Chinese to object on humanitarian or state independence grounds. The Iraq angle is just window dressing. I think they will deprive Russia of its only deep water Mediterranean port of call in the process and thereby isolate their navy North of Turkey. It should be noted that there is now some urgency to installing a gas pipeline to Europe from the Middle East due to rising East/West tensions and threats Russia will cut off supplies. There is therefore much better odds that Merkel and the rest of the European Leaders will support clearing of threats in the Syrian theatre and in the installation of a more compliant and stronger government.

Hey thanks BB. It does make perfect sense to me.

By the way, in an article just out from Zero Hedge this morning they basically confirm exactly what I wrote via comments and quotes now coming out of Russia. See for yourself. This is still about a gas line to Europe and a way to weaken Russia’s stranglehold on the European regions energy needs. And make no mistake, this will go ahead as we have recently seen a ramp up in punishment on Putins state owned oil and gas providers by a combination of European and American agreements. So I think the die is cast and Syria will indeed see the bombs and missiles flying before winter is out. The confidence with which the new sanctions were imposed suggest a strong plan is already in place. Only time will tell when it gets activated.

Obama does not have a clue, let alone a plan!

So what do we have here? A federal govt. that is as clueless as he is? That seems crazy!

The Federal Government is running like a chicken with its head cut off: A Rudderless Ship of State.
Unfocused. Opposite parties not talking to each other. Primarily because the leadership divides with no attempt to reach consensus on anything.

Obama. The worst President in History of the U.S. A change we should have done without. Elected twice by self-interested morons.

But on a brighter note, the earliest ever snowfall on record happened in S. Dakota.

Still think we have global warming, Big Zero?

But then again over here in central Oregon there is not a cloud in the sky. It is however in the very low 40’s!

Don’t you just wonder how that might affect their 11 million acres of corn and soybeans.

Indiana got rain, not snow. Crops substantially in, next 10 days projected fine. Should be a bumper harvest. Some corn still standing in fields as I came down from Chicago, but a lot of fields with just stalk stumps as they increasingly use no-till techniques.

          Sep 12, 2014 12:28 AM

          Corn creeping up this morning.

The Turks don’t want to tangle with Russia. They would be right in the middle.

Probably more because Turkey is increasingly radical Islamic.

          Sep 11, 2014 11:21 PM

Yes, that would play into things. Of course, the Turks are hosts of the Bosphorus Straits which is the pinchpoint fo all Russian traffic out of the Black sea including their export lanes for crude shipments and their naval fleets. I think Turkey was neutral in the Second World War for good reason as they were not prepared to take sides against the major powers on such a critical sea lane. History is repeating here. They will let others decide the fate of traffic.

Can you believe. The cingrsswoman from Minnesota says she was not allowed to talk about the women from Minnesota fighting for ISIS until they died.
Best estimates place between 1,400 and 1,500 US passport holders in Syria/Iraq potentially fighting for or aiding ISIS. It only takes one loony-tune coming back to organize an attack.

The six point plan seems ok.

    1) drop more bombs on Iraq
    2)train and equip more Arabs
    3) drop bombs on Syria
    4) train/equip Syrian “rebels”…..(isn’t this where isis came from? in any case, pass out more weapons)
    5) Get Europe and Saudi Arabia to help
    6) Don’t put soldiers in Iraq and stay the heck away from Syria and Iran

Sounds like a great plan, if this one doesn’t work thy can always go to plan b,
drop more bombs, train more “rebels” and Arabs, drop more bombs……..

Does the US have any status of forces agreement with Iraq or Syria?

i.e. If an Iraqi civilian is killed by mistake, will the US soldier/pilot get hauled into court if captured.
