A Tale of Two Markets: Gold Market Manipulation in NY and London

November 7, 2014

We all know it’s happening and personally I feel helpless to do anything about it. However I do still like reading about the workings of the gold fix in London and how gold markets around the world are functioning.

An interesting chart presented in the post is the following. “Nick Laird, the data wrangler of Sharelynx, com, has constructed a five year rolling average of price movements for gold throughout the day. Given that this is five years worth of data, it would be very difficult to say that it is some sort of anomaly.”

If gold plummets by 30 odd bucks….why are there screams of manipulation everywhere by so many ???
Yet when gold soars up by exactly the same amount there is complete silence regarding manipulation ???

You can’t just have it one way surely ?? Unless you have the very same narrowed minded view that has been preached by those who are selling something.

Should look at the chart above,Skeeta.
Not very difficult to make out who is zooming who.

Why no cries of manipulation today then Matt ???
      Please explain why?

There was a very interesting explanation about this by Paul Tustain on Chris Martenson’s broadcast a couple of years ago. He thinks it is definitely manipulation but not in the way that many think. I am not going to pretend to understand all this but I think there is something to it. It has to do with gold moving from the west to the east. Worth a read/listen. Cheers.

    Cory,
These are your insights apparently? ?
So where are the manipulation calls when gold rises nearly 40 bucks for no apparent reason like now ??
I keep saying you can’t have it both ways.
I look forward to your explanation.
    Cheers

      Good luck with that.

        Exactly Bobby,
No one every complains of manipulation when gold shoots upward,
        Only when it falls.
People don’t like to look in the mirror & admit they were wrong,
So they look to blame someone else.
Just like politician’s do…who the same gold bugs sh#t can in the same breath.
LOL. ..the bugs are no different…never wrong, point the finger elsewhere.

….bugs are their own worst enemy…..but too stupid to realise it.

There are none so blind as those who refuse to see given that a picture is worth a 1,000 words. Cory’s chart shows how a few select ‘banks’ are manipulating the spot price of gold and by extension silver. But for those who prefer words, here is a good pithy explanation of the ups and downs of the bullion markets in the virtual world of global electronic trading:

            bj,
Please explain to me how ANYONE who has invested in KWN’s sensationalist headlines has financially benefited ALL the way down from both gold & silvers tops???
OMG…talk about decimation for those poor souls.
Yet you still link the same BS ???
If you believed their cr@p ALL THE WAY DOWN then good for you.
I’ve got a big red nose, some big red shoes & a clown outfit you maybe interested in also.

            ……they’d make the perfect companion.

If you think we are entering a new gold bull market then you are also assuming that the Japanese yen is about to enter a new bull market and the attempts by the BoJ to debase it will fail, all this in the context of a strong US dollar.
