I think it’s in the dozens over the last two years.

The most creative was ‘suicide’ by nail gun. 7 or 8 nails I think!

        Nov 24, 2014 24:11 PM

Other people have committed suicide by mail guns in the past. Plenty of people in the financial industry have committed suicide in the past. Nothing mysterious about it like the conspiracy theorist believe including some on this forum.

          Nov 24, 2014 24:13 PM

JMiller, your indoctrination is on display when you try to discredit anyone by calling them a “conspiracy theorist.” You’re sleepwalking through life if you think conspiracies have EVER been rare.

Just 2.5 months into 2014 there were 12 finance related suicides. Dr. Christine Moutier, chief medical officer of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention said: “Jumping is much less common as a method for suicide in general, so I am struck by the number that have occurred in recent months in this industry.”

I am not claiming to know for a fact that there’s been foul play, but something does seem fishy to many thinking observers.

          Nov 27, 2014 27:37 AM

No Matthew, it is the truth that is on display.

          Nov 30, 2014 30:05 AM

There are a lot more conspiracy theories that are false than true, Matthew.

      Nov 24, 2014 24:30 AM

I would guess just closer reporting.

      Nov 24, 2014 24:13 PM

Not much more than normal from what I read.

Cleaveland………..12 yr. old BLACK Y0UTH SHOT BY COP……the cop shot the kid who had a PLAY GUN AT the Playground………cops gone wild………..expect more….imho.

“Quiet week” is a good opportunity to say this: Al, I love your site and I think you have about as much pure class as a person can have. Your guest speakers – all of them – are extremely gracious to provide the input that they give here. It doesn’t matter “who is right” on a particular day or issue – they all have something good to say about the markets and give great insight into what is going on. It shapes my thinking and matures my understanding of the markets, allowing me to make much better informed choices in investing. Thanks so much for that. Also, if I may be so bold, your faith shows . . . and I appreciate that and respect that greatly. You are obviously a man who lives his beliefs. Again, thanks for a tremendous program, and all of you please have a great thanksgiving holiday.

      Phil……DITTO.

      Nov 24, 2014 24:36 AM

Thanks you Phil and God bless!

        Nov 24, 2014 24:36 AM

Thanks to you too, Mr. Irish!

GDXJ priced in SPY screams buy miners and sell conventional stocks.

I think gold is treading water here due to the short week and the Swiss vote. The bulls will let the bears think they’re in control a little longer.

      Nov 24, 2014 24:28 AM

      Matthew,
Checkout the 50MA and the 200MA on spot gold. It will not be a slow week. In fact according to my day count and cycle theory gold will take the plunge today or tonight. It’s going to be a huge week!
      The MA’s tell the story.

        Nov 24, 2014 24:36 AM

        Chartster,

How many times do you want to repeat this? I already have too many fortune tellers who failed. Can you give a final deadline?

          Nov 24, 2014 24:43 AM

Hey bud, I just gave you the clues.
Yes I was off a few weeks, but as time unfolds I get more new info and that’s what I do!

            Nov 24, 2014 24:40 AM

I hope someone here gets your clue.

        Nov 24, 2014 24:02 AM

Chartster, you’re assigning a lot of value to the MAs.

          Nov 24, 2014 24:12 AM

Yup, they do show some large moves about to occur. Like down hard then right back up.

        Nov 24, 2014 24:03 AM

If December Gold rolls down from here I’ll be using 1145.00 — a ‘midpoint Hidden Pivot’ support, as a tell-tale. Its easy breach would imply more downside over the near term to at least 1114.60. Regardless, 1145.00 could, and should, be bottom-fished with as tight as stop-loss as you can handle.

      Nov 24, 2014 24:29 PM

Hi Matthew… thank you very much about Fib 55/233.. I want to thank you here as I’m not sure you’d go back to that old commentary….

Regarding gold, tonight there will be BOJ minutes and Kuroda speaks… will see if Chartster is right.. 🙂

Back to a question to you.. any concern do you have if a NO result on Swiss vote is materialized on this Sunday?

      Thanks man!

        Nov 24, 2014 24:36 PM

        You’re welcome, genesys.

I am not concerned about the passage of the referendum, but I am for it. Gold could still retest its low whatever the outcome is. A big move up is coming, so selling too much in anticipation of a decline can be risky. I probably won’t be selling shares but am likely to sell more GDXJ calls tomorrow.
A significant pullback in gold (specifically the miners) should be bought in my opinion.

OPEC meeting on Thursday – oil production increased, dropped or held the same???

      Nov 24, 2014 24:25 AM

BOB…..Its all about keeping the US dollar alive.

    Nov 24, 2014 24:29 AM

    Chartster here we go again

    Nov 24, 2014 24:31 AM

    Lol, James

    Nov 24, 2014 24:27 PM

There is too much focus on the USD and gold. Gold is not backing down at all if you look at it in Euros or Yen. So gold and USD are going higher together. This is wonderful if you are running a gold mine outside the US, especially if your input costs due to energy are going down.

    Nov 24, 2014 24:35 PM

Here is another way to look at it…..gold versus foreign currencies using the bearish USD Index etf. It gives a different picture than always looking at gold in USD.

Just learned that Tahoe Resources brought in a 2 cent per month dividend on November 11. All in sustaining cost is 12.80$/oz. Comments?

      Nov 24, 2014 24:56 PM

Sorry Andrew, I do not follow Tahoe Resources. May Cory and Doc have a comment.
