Not sure if I trust those stats Jerry.

I will say that there is probably real culpability on both sides. I will further say that this is the biggest mess that I have seen in my life!

Looks like a big bubbly bull trap to me! A massive broadening top for the Fed’s 100th birthday?

        Nov 25, 2014 25:20 AM

I think the irony is that the bubble began in 1982. Presumably the bubble can no longer inflate once treasury bill rates drop below zero, as the pumping mechanism has traditionally been T-bills.

          Nov 25, 2014 25:34 AM

With the Dow trading near 2 ounces of gold, single digit PEs, and 6% dividend yields in 1982, I don’t see the argument for the bubble beginning at that time.

          Nov 25, 2014 25:38 AM

It is interesting that the crash of ’87 STARTED from a Dow-gold ratio precisely where the ratio bottomed in 2011 —after an 85 to 90% decline in ten years(!).

    Nov 25, 2014 25:14 AM

Watch for the murk coming over holiday weekend and gold to drop below 1180 again. Think markets will give cartel time frame to murk gold.

      Nov 25, 2014 25:38 AM

      Murk? What is murk?

        Nov 25, 2014 25:11 AM

Murk=destroy=annihilate….the usual down falls that cartel does so well.

What on earth makes anyone think anything OTHER than that ALL markets are managed?
    Wake up guys!
The biggest “market” in the world is the US bond market.
If this biggest market in the world can be manipulated for almost a decade to keep interest rates ridiculously low, there is NO market in the world that cannot be manipulated. AND, given the mindset of the “political” class, there is no doubt in my mind that all markets are, therefore, manipulated for political purposes and/or financial gain for the politically connected.

      Nov 25, 2014 25:27 AM

      Bingo.

      Nov 25, 2014 25:42 AM

Maybe JPM and the gang will hit the MSM front pages for their billions in fines they have already paid and the fines to come for the other markets and stocks they have manipulated but I wont hold my breath as I am sure they share a large number of board members.

      Nov 25, 2014 25:31 PM

I believe that it is simply for financial gain. There is absolutely no other logical reason!

    As regards Ferguson……..
The president, who, supposedly, was a law professor, should know the law.
However, this racist, chooses to incite further protests rather than explain the verdict of the grand jury.
A contemptible, disgusting effort to gain political advantage by dividing society on racial lines rather than acting in the best interests of the country.

      Nov 25, 2014 25:25 AM

CFS..What did you expect from Obama & there was me thinking no one else could do as much damage to the US , after the Bush double act & if you think this one ( O ) is bad watch out if the bare faced liars wife gets in , Clinton.

Agree, we’ve accelerating downhill for a long time now and come a long way.. Kinda of hard to see that shining city on a hill from here–not even at night can we see its aurora.

        Nov 25, 2014 25:35 PM

Here is an interesting question Mr. Irish: of the last three presidents which one do you think was the most effective?

      bj
      Nov 25, 2014 25:47 AM

Things are never that simple. I don’t see it so much as racists, although I’m sure there were bigots populating the mob(s); but instead, opportunists exploiting the situation as a pretext to loot and plunder and possibly settle old scores on a more personal, micro-economic basis within the neighborhoods.

        Nov 25, 2014 25:36 PM

        That’s a good point bj!

          Nov 25, 2014 25:37 PM

Let me elaborate on one more thing bj. I think that the participants are a bunch of “I am going to get something for nothing idiots!”

      Nov 25, 2014 25:34 PM

Tell me why you think that he is dividing society on racial lines.

Now admittedly I lost interest in this particular story as I could change absolutely nothing. The only thing that I heard him say was something along the lines of “let’s simply stay calm”.

Remember I am not in agreement with what I believe most of his policies are, but I also believe in fairness.

‘Epidemic of police violence in US’: Black person killed every 28 hours The recent murder of a 12-year-old black boy confirms there’s an epidemic of police violence in the black community in the US where the police seem to function as judge, jury and executioner, Brian Becker, director of the Answer Coalition told RT. 33

cfs according to this maybe black people might be justified feeling a little “picked on”.

      Nov 25, 2014 25:30 AM

bb…..Perhaps the motto of the US police force should be …………..
      HAVE GUN-WILL SHOOT.

        Nov 25, 2014 25:42 PM

Response to bb and Mr. Irish,

Gentlemen, it is a lot more complicated than that at least to me. Very simplistically speaking I think that there is some fear on the part of the police and some real stupidity on the part of the folks getting shot.

The cop in Ferguson was probably genuinely fearful if the story I heard was true. And, the man who was killed clearly did something really stupid. I heard, by the way, that the autopsy showed that he was loaded up pretty good.

What a mess gentlemen, what a big mess!

This will probably considered a racist comment.
I have run several businesses over the years in locations with about a 10% black population, 10% hispanic population.
Over 30 plus years, this anecdotal, but a fact, for what it is worth.
I can count theft and non-payment situations or fraudulent activity with values over $1000 happening probably about 50 times.
$ or 5 times a white person was involved; similarly 4 or 5 times hispanic; but the rest of the time it was involving a black person.
I have been threatened with a gun once. I have been threatened with a knife once. On both occasions it was by someone with black skin.
Thus if black people feel “picked upon”, they should consider their immoral propensities relative to other races.
My opinion is that caucasians tend to give black people more of a break, because they are black.

        Nov 25, 2014 25:53 AM

I grew up and lived in an almost completely white society. Obviously times have changed in the last 20 years or so, but I can say that any “wrongdoing” done to me thruought my life has been by white people.

I lost my wallet twice, once returned by a white guy Calgary, and once returned by a black guy, in Blaine Washington.

I met lots of black people in Vegas, never did I find anything but courtesy and smiles.
Met a black group of people in Las Angeles, they seemed leary and a fellow I was with asked for directions explaining we were from Canada, their demeaner changed and they became very friendly.

Maybe its all where your from, but I can say with more black people immigrating to Canada I notice more black people, but I really don’t see them behaving any differant than white people.

Maybe the states is just “another world”, which is one reason I don’t go there anymore I guess.

          Nov 25, 2014 25:48 PM

Give us another chance bb. We are really not all that bad.

By the way our official address in Blaine and I have never seen a black individual there. I find that to be kind of amusing!

            bb
            Nov 25, 2014 25:59 PM

That is funny Al, I was using the post office there to avoid the hassle of shipping product from Canada to the states.(what free trade? we already had it)
Anyway, the guy found it and waited by my car until I got back.

        Nov 25, 2014 25:46 PM

I agree with you final statement, CFS, and I am truly sorry that it has evolved to that point.

I have only taken on a knife wielding individual once and that person was very white!

I will add that I love blues and jazz and I used to hang out a lot in black clubs in Seattle. I never had any problem whatsoever. My favorite church in Seattle is equally populated by whites and blacks. I have never seen so much love in one room in my life not to mention such great music!

bb, most of that violence is black on black crime–and when the police show up they become the scape goat. But the Patriot Act sure does give the government unbounded latitude to abuse the civil rights of everyone of every color and creed.

        Nov 25, 2014 25:49 PM

        Certainly seems to, bj!

While the events down in Ferguson play out, back in Chicagoland, HeyJackass reports that the same old bullshit continues day in and day out with nary a peep. In the 107 days since officer Darren Wilson shot and killed 18 year old Michael Brown – 12:03pm, Saturday, August 9th – the following stupidity has taken place in Chicago: 155 homicides (74% black males), 725 shot & wounded, and 244 teenagers (13-19) shot and wounded… but that’s just scratching the surface. So what is it about these stats that hasn’t caused people to lose their collective shit?

        Along the same lines

    Nov 25, 2014 25:54 AM

Funny thing on TV the other night, generals and admirals cia guys csis etc from both the U.S. and Canada, saying we have to fortify the entire continent due to the 2 guys killed by isis recently.
Billions and billions of course, expand the security increase survalance yadda yadda yadda

For 2 killed, but every 28 hours our police kill a black person alone?
The police rape how many women? what they call it? civil forfeiture?

More people die from chocking on toothpicks than isis kills in north America, but people will go for it hook line and sinker.

We get the government we deserve I suppose.

      Nov 25, 2014 25:50 PM

Of course we do bb. That is what elections are all about!

    Nov 25, 2014 25:04 PM

wouldnt it be terrific to have Gary & Doc face off on a show or 2 or 3….??

      Nov 25, 2014 25:52 PM

      Hi Sally,

They are actually pretty good friends. When we were all visiting the Corvus Property it was really fun to listen to their conversations. I will also say that there is a lot of mutual respect there!

        Nov 25, 2014 25:18 PM

Most of the time Doc and I are on the same page. The only real difference is that I tend to go all in once I have confirmation of an intermediate cycle bottom where Doc tends to wait till his indicators turn. This will always require a little time to occur as they are a lagging indicator, whereas my cycles will often call a bottom while the technicals are still pointing down.

          Nov 25, 2014 25:24 PM

There is a big difference Gary..

You put your cojones “balls” and reputation out there with your calls while doc plays it safe and waits for confirmation. Being the young lad and more aggressive approach i take i rather your move. I like doc’s approach for a more conservative investor.

    Nov 25, 2014 25:35 PM

    Gary,
It would be great to get your views on Avi Gilburt’s commentary. He is looking for a wave v low by the end of December (bringing GLD to a minimum of 105). I think youalso mentioned there could be a final low, but not before a 4 -6 week rally. Well your timeframe would put us at the end of December as well, so you both may be on the same page, right? What do you think?

    Nov 26, 2014 26:06 AM

Gary Im going to go with your first choice…I don’t see a final bottom in gold until I see a Dow jones major correction. The major correction in dow is what will give the major fuel to the miners. Anything else imo is a bounce.
