Doc just recorded late. Sorry Sally

If you are a prisoner of war and wearing a uniform then Geneva convention is and should be followed to the max. But terrorism and terrorist is a whole other issue and anything goes to saves lives and not retribution or an eye for an eye.

      Dec 10, 2014 10:28 PM

You can’t pick and chose morals to suit your taste. Right is right and wrong is wrong.

Anyone who thinks it is OK to fight terrorism with terrorism is no better than Herman Goring. This is what he said when he was interviewed by a reporter in his cell at Nuremberg.

Goring: Why, of course, the people don’t want war. Why would some poor slob on a farm want to risk his life in a war when the best that he can get out of it is to come back to his farm in one piece? Naturally, the common people don’t want war; neither in Russia nor in England nor in America, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy or a fascist dictatorship or a Parliament or a Communist dictatorship.

Gilbert: There is one difference. In a democracy, the people have some say in the matter through their elected representatives, and in the United States only Congress can declare wars.

Goring: Oh, that is all well and good, but, voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same way in any country.

        Dec 10, 2014 10:54 PM

Exactly. Right is right and wrong is wrong. The brainwashed, gullible, unprincipled masses are completely unaware of all their conflicting beliefs.

“Thinking is the hardest work there is, which is probably the reason why so few engage in it.” – Henry Ford

I don’t think Jay Gould was wrong when he said the following:
“I can hire one half of the working class to kill the other half.”

        Dec 10, 2014 10:12 PM

Absolutely Paul, “right is right and wrong is wrong”!

    Dec 10, 2014 10:34 PM

Right “WE” know everything there is to know about terrorism , so we are going to turn you people into terrorists…but if “WE” capture you , we are going to torture you to find out what you know that we don’t about terrorism………..
You couldn’t make this S$$t up.

      Dec 10, 2014 10:12 PM

The war on terror is really the war on sheeple. It provides cover for the rise of the police state. The sheeple will buy into any absurdity.

        Dec 10, 2014 10:46 PM

        Totally agree, Matthew

          Dec 10, 2014 10:56 PM

Yes Mathew, but its old news now for a long time.
J Taylor has an interview today with a guy that’s written yet another book about false flags and the easily decieved americans.

The “truth” tellers are getting pretty blatant now.

            Dec 10, 2014 10:03 PM

The best way for it to be exposed is for us to continue to talk about it, and keep bringing the truth. The tide has shifted, they are being exposed.

The world court is going to be a busy place in 2015, I do believe…

            Dec 10, 2014 10:20 PM

It’s obviously anything but old news to too many people.

The destructive use of force and violence known as socialism is also (very) old news, yet most of the world’s population continues to think that it is not only legitimate but preferable —Canadians much more so than Americans. Go figure.

            Dec 10, 2014 10:26 PM

Yes a good interview off J TAYLOR !

            J ….TAYLOR……………GOOD………………….J..T…LONG………..

            Dec 10, 2014 10:25 PM

Mathew, just for fun lets ask how many people here were made aware the war on terror really is a war on the sheeple.
            How many eyes got opened?

The people that need to know that stuff are not here, Ron Paul (and others) does a great job of “opening eyes”, but I doubt he would waste his time on a bunch of people that already know that stuff.

That’s the point of it being old news, try listening to the interview at Jay Taylors, this stuff has gone on for decades, and if Jesus is to be believed, its been going on for thousands of years.

In any case, its true that the more its talked about the more will hear it.

            Dec 10, 2014 10:30 PM

Bb, Marty’s comment above and plenty of others I’ve read here prove that many who visit this site believe that the war on terror is real/legitimate.
There is no shortage of eyes that remain wide shut anywhere, in my experience. Are you sure yours are open?

You asked “How many eyes got opened?” Rather than pretend that it matters to me if ANY were opened, I’ll answer with a question of my own: Do you think about how many eyes you might open before you throw a comment out? If so, you wouldn’t know it! 🙂

            bb
            Dec 10, 2014 10:30 PM

lol I knew you would want “the last word” Mathew.
            its all yours.

        ditto Matthew…………

        Dec 10, 2014 10:49 PM

        +1 Matthew.

        LPG
        Dec 10, 2014 10:51 PM

Actually, it should have been called “the war on Freedom” or “the war on Intelligence”….
…but then I suspect it wouldn’t have had the same level of support 🙂
        Best to all,
        LPG

          Dec 10, 2014 10:04 PM

They could have called the patriot act, the tyranny act.

The litmus test for all elected officials should be to repeal the patriot act and the act of 1871. But hey, I guess the sheep have to be sheared a bit more before they wake up.

            Dec 10, 2014 10:55 PM

They’re in the business of calling things exactly the opposite of what they are. The U.S. Department of War, for example, was formed in 1789 and lasted until the globalist Marxists had their way in 1949 and changed it to the Department of Defense. The con artists’ pigs are forever in need of lipstick.

        Dec 10, 2014 10:13 PM

        Mr. Irish and Matthew,

Interesting points from both of you!

YOU GUYS should listen to the JIM WILLIE INTERVIEW…………

And you guys should then bet on FSU in the Rose Bowl. My money is personally on Oregon!

yup Tony that’s how we work.
On the Daily show last night the guest was trying to save elephants, I guess we only have 10 years left to extinction in the wild.

If anyone wanted to shoot one better do it quick or the opportunity will be gone.

    Dec 10, 2014 10:26 PM

This is one elephant that could stand to be bagged. Lots of headroom in the narrowing spread between near futures and the longest dated futures:

If I was an American I would be against amnesty, but the trouble is that the forces opposed to amnesty aren’t organized, until the law is passed the opposition won’t get recognition and by then it will be too late.

Maybe we could draft them into the military…..and they would burn their draft cards and flee to Canada………………………………………….lol

        Dec 10, 2014 10:15 PM

I take back every bad thing I have ever said or thought about you, Jerry!

        Dec 10, 2014 10:22 PM

That would have been possible in the 1960’s but with Harper it isn’t, Harper has lost much of the electorate and Pierre Elliot Trudeau’s son is heading the opposition and a lot of Canadians don’t want what they have now so they will vote for what they didn’t want before such is the two party system.

        Dec 10, 2014 10:38 PM

Jerry, I have always felt that Americans are very much like Germans, who are very much like The British, how are we going to have peace when our people like War.

      Dec 11, 2014 11:09 AM

DT….I am still waiting for two answers from you.

        Dec 11, 2014 11:35 AM

Irish – Quick word of advice: People on forums like these say things for which there’s no redress. Bird did that to me – no apologies, no regrets – they just move blithely on. Some months back HEAVYHITTER said as much and ducked out. Now I’m minded to dip into Al’s site without getting engaged. There’s enough madness out there without tangling with ghosts with whom one is never likely to meet up.

        Best wishes, Andrew

          Dec 11, 2014 11:34 AM

Thanks for that , Andrew….I think I might drop it , after all I asked him often enough for answers…Perhaps he has not got the balls to man up …..Cheers.

glad to hear from both you guys……….you both add a delightful flavor to this bland site……………………………….j………………..ootb………………………………

          Dec 11, 2014 11:28 AM

Thanks Tony and J – No disrespect to yourself J but the site has indeed got bland – endless ‘expert’ opinions in my book which in the current mayhem just make for tedious reading! Black swans abound! Best, A

      Total capitulation or death?

        Dec 10, 2014 10:01 PM

It’s down 35% in 13 weeks from a level that was already off 58% from the 2011 high. I would say that the capitulation is nearly done, but many index components will never recover.
At -73%, it has outperformed GDXJ (-85%).

          Dec 10, 2014 10:09 PM

Unfortunately john kaiser is mostly right. Even these companies have not disappeared in mass but they have turned into zombies. Not sure which is better.

            Dec 10, 2014 10:33 PM

It would be better if they disappeared, but zombies are ok too, as they will attract little capital away from the viable companies.

    Dec 11, 2014 11:41 AM

    Morning guys,

Matt,Gary, doc, lawrence,LPG, the rest of the clan..

    1. Can someone give me the bottom low put in October of 2008? I have 712 as a close.

    2. Does anyone in here see us going into a technical high of 1275/1285 into Monday/tuesday the latest as FOMC can be the trigger that causes a decline from that very important technical. Fomc being on 16th/17th. Then that decline going into New moon which has a pretty good record of a low for gold?

Just some observations which I want to see of you guys are seeing same pattern.

      Dec 11, 2014 11:52 AM

      681

        Dec 11, 2014 11:59 AM

        Was that intra-day or close?

        thx in advance fran

          Dec 11, 2014 11:25 AM

681 is the intraday. The low daily close was 698.20. The low weekly and monthly close was 718.20. The quarterly low close was 880.80.

            Dec 11, 2014 11:42 AM

Thx bud you never fail me 🙂

      Dec 11, 2014 11:20 AM

      666 intraday

        Dec 11, 2014 11:26 AM

        That’s for the S&P 500.

          Dec 11, 2014 11:47 AM

Does he mean for gold? Sorry. I did not read carefully. I think your above numebr is good but I remember it was ~695 during the night of Oct 23.

            Dec 11, 2014 11:51 AM

Yes, in fact the low on Oct. 23rd was 695.20; the bottom happened the next day at 681.

            Dec 11, 2014 11:55 AM

Wow, you must track it minute by minute. Good job.

            the PROFESSOR KNOWS his stuff………………………………..ootb

    Dec 11, 2014 11:45 AM

I agree also that we are getting into extremely oversold wti oil from which a bounce is more likely. Although I agree with such bounce, im inclined to say that it will only be a bounce of which 70ish area will be tested and become resistance. I believe this is a bear that will last much longer then all the pundint’s on bnn are acknowledging. Another observation.

35/40 wti in due time. I said after new year along with 3 year low of crb.

    Dec 11, 2014 11:01 AM

    Gary,

what’s your opinion thus far this morning on action? You still remain bullish on that 1275 in the short term?

    Dec 11, 2014 11:01 AM

Where is everyone today? Are you all bed ridden from the snow. We got hammered up here in toronto.

      Dec 11, 2014 11:43 AM

Beautiful in Calgary, but windy. By this time last year I was a basket case from snow removal.

    Dec 11, 2014 11:52 AM

Hey guys has gary talked about what type of retracement he is looking at if the 1275/1280 is hit? Keeping in mind the bottom is in. If he believes the bottom is not in then i would expect the decline to be much larger.

I would hope someone can ask him this question?

    Thanks in advance

    Dec 11, 2014 11:54 AM

Whoever thinks S&P will crash should consider other factors instead of pure fundamentals or technicals. Even with huge drop in oild price which triggered the downturn of oil/gas components, it refuses to go down much. I think it is the only game in town so it has to be protected somehow. I know FED is buying S&P futures. Banks and funds are also looking for year end bonus.

      Dec 11, 2014 11:57 AM

IMHO it has a date with the 500s because of the previous downdraft this year from Sept to Oct.

IT, the comment that I made about your posting the other day was meant to get your attention, what I really wanted to say was I believe that you have shown yourself to be well informed when you express your opinions rather then trying to make others feel important by self ingratiating. Sorry for the choice of words, I will work on improving my people skills as well.
