Franky,
You are going to absolutely love Segment 4 of the upcoming Weekend Radio Show.
As the guy from Men’s Wearhouse says “I guarantee it”!
BE kind…………it is the HOLIDAY SEASON………………..LOL
Peter.. you’re always the reporter of mammoth volume in mining shares… thanks!… but man… to be frank… this has done nothing to the pitiful miners…
The case here, Genesys, is since gold bottom I have seen huge volumes at the same time after market. Technically gold has to go down after this FED meeting, but this moves on the mining shares and closing up (GDX+5.26%, GDXJ+7.08%), for me, is very encouraging. That move was exactly the same when gold bottom. We could have a good bounce tomorow…
Thanks Peter… I’m sort of on the camp that Fed meeting seems the most very important event holding off any investment conclusion of 2014. I hope traders start the real unwind (read profit taking/loss be realized/whatever it is) after this… and we will see what miners are about.
I agree. The miners look much more appealing than gold right now.

The miners also look much better than the S&P.

Peter,
You mentioned a few days ago that volumes on GDXJ had been huge early Nov, that it was a transfer of share “from weak hands to strong hands”.
At that time, I noticed/highlighted that there was a float turnover >1on the first week of Nov…and I could not personally draw the same conclusions as you did re: the transfer of shares – due to the high turnaround. Since your comment, GDXJ posted a lower low by about 90cts, or about 4%.
Yesterday volume on GDXJ was again quite sizable, but IMHO one should not get too excited by after-hours huge candle bars.
Seems to me that when it comes to stocks/equities ETFs, many appearances can be deceptive.
My 2 cts,
Best to you, and GL investing/trading to all
LPG
As I said several times, even if the volume is quite large, it is very likely late reporting by market makers.
Best to all,
LPG

What is this a game of semantics?
This is Chinese Firedrill!
It’s BS
She’s a pimp on a string
And that would be who!

The scary part about the world economy these days is The Fed is no longer in charge, the volatility we are seeing is caused by the uncertainty of knowing that economic power is changing hands and the American dream is broken. The transition for the west will be a poorer standard of living, and the end of an economic era. It almost mirrors the fall of The USSR, our military has bankrupted our economies and left us without economic dominance.
Empires come and go and we are no exception, when you read History they all make the same mistakes born out of their own hubris.
MARKET ALERT !!!
The BIGGEST volumes I ever see on GDX and GDXJ:
GDX: 16:07 31.099.722 shares $17.96 UP 5.26%
16:08 31.076.740 shares $17.97
GDXJ: 16:08 12.329.042 shares $23.11 UP 7.08%
