Welcome!

America, we have a problem!

January 28, 2015

People in America and in other prominent western nations are wondering, which side does the USA represent? The United States has always been pro-Israel, but in the past few months, doubts arrived.

Recent moves by the White House administration are perceived by many to be anti-Israel with advantages bent towards opposing Arab communities from within several circles. Some have perceived Obama as being a Muslim                                                                                                                       and when Fox News reported this past week end, that the president’s primary advisor, Valerie Jarrett was born in Iran,

new accusations and media problems have and will continue to emerge for the administration.

In the fall of 2013, I did forecast Obama would experience a serious crisis involving women; I suspected this event would be reported. Jarrett, in my opinion is the defacto president of the United States of America. Obama will not make a move without her input. She is highly educated and some say brilliant. In my opinion this is a serious problem for America. Roger

When House Speaker Boehner invited Israel’s Netanyahu to speak, uproar began.

“Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he will go “everywhere I’m invited” to warn against a nuclear deal with Iran, as criticism mounted over his planned speech on the negotiations to the U.S. Congress.”

“As prime minister of Israel, I am obligated to make every effort to prevent Iran from achieving nuclear weapons that would be aimed at Israel,” Netanyahu said at the weekly cabinet meeting in Jerusalem today. “This effort is worldwide and I will go anywhere I am invited in order to enunciate the State of Israel’s position and in order to defend its future and its existence,” he said according to an e-mailed statement from his office.

Netanyahu accepted House Speaker John Boehner’s invitation to address a joint session of Congress on March 3, in a move that wasn’t coordinated with President Barack Obama’s administration. Critics say the measure is meant to undercut Obama’s efforts to negotiate a deal with the Iranians and will hurt Israel by damaging ties with the White House. They also say the speech will give the prime minister an unfair boost before Israel’s March 17 elections. “This is a poke in the eye” of the Obama administration, “and ultimately a blow to Israel,” said lawmaker Shelly Yachimovich of the opposition Labor party. “In exchange for giving a campaign speech, Netanyahu is prepared to hurt our relationship with the U.S.,” Yachimovich said today on Israel Radio. Roger: Baloney!- that is just the usual opposition politics.

Republicans and some Democrats in Congress seek new economic and diplomatic sanctions on the government in Tehran, a move that could kill any nuclear deal. Obama said in his State of the Union address that he would veto any proposed legislation that increases sanctions. Netanyahu backs tougher penalties. Sanctions were imposed to deter Iran from developing nuclear weapons technology. Iran says its nuclear program is designed only for energy and medical uses, and other Middle Eastern nations say Israel harbors the region’s only atomic arsenal. Israel neither confirms nor denies possessing atomic weapons. Netanyahu’s former ambassador to the U.S., Michael Oren, called on him to cancel his Congressional address.

“His behavior over the last few days created the impression that this is a cynical political move, and it could hurt our attempts to act against Iran,” said Oren, now campaigning for parliament on the list of the newly formed Kulanu party, in an interview Saturday on Channel 2 television. Ties between Netanyahu and Obama have historically been strained over issues including peacemaking with the Palestinians and how to contain Iran’s nuclear program. Obama won’t meet Netanyahu when he comes to Washington to deliver his speech because it’s too close to the Israeli elections, the White House said.”Calev Ben-David Jerusalem 1-23-15 Bloomberg.net

Roger: Netanyahu is a right wing hawk supremely interested in the preservation of his nation and his people. He is outspoken and the current U.S. administration is fearful of what he will say. In our view, it is time for clear thinking and tough talk. It is obvious to me the next wars, coming swiftly in the Middle East will involve Israel against Syria, Iran, Iraq, Yemen and some others. We have also seen NATO NATION TURKEY wavering on the fence and not backing the USA on key points. Israel will not sit and take a beating or an invasion by her enemies. With or without the U.S. Administration’s backing, if the timing is critical, Israel will attack her enemies with no warning.  The first targets would be capital cities in Syria and Iran. The ISSIS scourge is primarily camped in Syria. This too would be tops on the hit list for Israel’s self-defense. The entire western world for the most part is fearful of Iran procuring an atomic bomb. Once they have it they will use it, or it gets into the hands of those who would. One retired American general says Iran has the bomb in 90 days. Pakistan is sitting on a large atomic bomb supply as well and they have been backing the USA and Israel enemies. – end

And won’t NATO be defanged if Germany and France decide to do an about turn over Russian sanctions? Not beyond the cards in my view and whatever one’s views on Obama, Netanyahu’s cosy relationship with Congress needs busting.

Israel’s alliance was part of Cold War I, when the West was pitted against the USSR and its Arab allies. So part of the original reasons for the alliance are now anachronisms. Netayahu’s reminders that Israel is a staunch American ally in the Middle East have lost their potency.

Who is Israel an ally against, these days? What is Israel need for, from the US point of view, in the Middle East?

I predict that the US-Israeli alliance will continue to corrode and Israel better have a good plan B ready for when the day comes when the alliance is no more and its former protector turns away or against it.

I agree. Step back and look at it unemotionally. Israel has been a dependent and liability to the USA ever since the breakup of the USSR. The never ending construction of new settlements in the occupied territories taken by military force several decades ago has done nothing but foment rebellion from within and anger throughout the region. They attacked Turkey, a NATO ally, and we ignored it–at least publicly.

Add to that : Congress has never ratified any mutual defense treaty, and all of sudden you have to wonder why we still carry water for Israel.

As a sovereign state, they have every right to define and pursue their own national strategic objectives within the norms of international law. But they do not have the right to expect America to subsidize, suffer from or clean up after their misadventures.

I agree Peter the original. Israel’s going to overreach itself and then watch Obama give him the cold shoulder.

The nuclear narrative is like the WMD narrative, the Yellowcake narrative and the Al Qaeda narrative – chaff for the public to chew on (Us = Good, Them = Bad), and more importantly, cover for ulterior policy goals, especially the desire to forestall a broad international exodus from the international petrodollar standard.
