Good to hear Trader Rog getting more upbeat on gold once more, notwithstanding the increasingly dodgy political situations.

    Feb 04, 2015 04:09 PM

Roger you mentioned China & gold can you please mention Indian purchases of gold… thank you

SURE I AGREE WITH ROGER, but I’m waiting on 1ST Quarter GDP and I think OIL WILL FALL and it will continue to do so, it was DOWN as much as 9% TODAY. TOO MANY BLACK SWANS AHEAD, look at Greece…………….the JOBS REPORT on Friday will be INTERESTING and of course, THE BALTIC DRY INDEX………..NOW DOWN 577 POINTS AND FALLING !!!!!!

    Feb 04, 2015 04:00 PM

Have you heard anything about the recent news out of Greece other than that reported by Zero Hedge?

      Feb 04, 2015 04:06 PM

YES BREAKING, NO NEW DEAL WITH GREECE FROM ECB………………….STOCKS FALL 115 POINTS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Feb 04, 2015 04:01 PM

AL, what is interesting the oil start to plunge exactly when we (here in Brazil) start to investigate the biggest corruption scheme involving Petrobras. Yesterday we have a big pull back on oil prices when Petrobras announced change president and managements. We hear at the news Soros bought A LOT Petrobras shares before this event…

Is $50 above spot that big of a deal?, I believe a week or so ago the premium on an once here was $46.

Iran 3 months away from a bomb? We have been hearing that for how many years now?
I think I recall some of their religious leaders and political leaders saying their religion doesn’t allow them to, for what that’s worth.
But this, a few months away from a bomb has been repeated for years and its always lies so… who do you believe.
Me, I know our sources lie thru their teeth constantly. No idea about Iranians.

      Feb 04, 2015 04:02 PM

Yeah, they lie too bb. People are the same everywhere you go.

        Feb 05, 2015 05:37 AM

So if person A lies, it means person B must be lying?

Interesting logic especially since all 15 US intelligence agencies agree the Iran has no nuclear weapons program. So If Israel is caught lying, does that also mean you just got caught lying?

goldbugs have the strangest way of looking at the world.

You believe that gold moves everything. Well you found out for 3 years now that it doesn’t. It is a hedge nothing more. No one cares about gold except the broken downtrodden goldbugs.

I was in an airport today and not one person used cash, gold or anything real at starbucks in 13 people orders. They used an app or a electronic wallet. You darn well better get this cause your future depends on it,

Anyone under 59 could care less about gold. The gold of tomorrow is apple pay or Google pay or whatever takes them out.

It is not, I repeat not – gold IMHO.

You can’t shove gold into a smartphone or a smartphone reader folks.
How many times do you have to bankrupt yourselves. I’m sorry but it’s time to come out of nutterville..

Gold has its place. To bribe the Obama concentration camp guards who want physical not reportable assets to let you go free……

      Hello Ken,

Thanks for your insights and views. Appreciated.

Personally, I don’t drink Starbucks coffee as I find it pretty much low quality overall. In simple terms, it’s not good value to me.

Also, when I buy a coffee, I pay cash (or with credit card). Maybe one day I’ll need an app or an electronic wallet. That’s cool. But so far, so good – without.
In this part of the world I live in, I’ve never seen anyone use an app or an electronic wallet. Maybe you’d say it’s because I live in a retarded place. Maybe.

Now, don’t get me wrong: I am not saying I’m not gonna use the electronic wallet in my lifetime. I probably will – or maybe it will be something even more funky/sophisticated/technological than that. Simply put, the app/electronic wallet might be so “passe” in a few years and I will use something “better”. And that will be all fine too.

But I want to highlight to you one thing though, if I may.

Since gold has been used and valued by humans a few thousand years ago, the world has seen the emergence of:
      paper money,
      cheques
      computers
      credit cards,
      internet
      mobile phones
      online payment
      electronic wallets.

Despite all of this, gold is still around and valued by many (incl. in places of the world called China and India, which, incidentally, represent almost 1 in every 2 person in this planet).
What is maybe even more fascinating is that the biggest run in gold has been in the say… 40 yrs, precisely at a time where there has been the most progress in technology and where means of payments have increasingly been digitalized (credit card, online payments, digital wallets).
I could go even further and say that the last run from the late 1990’s to 2011 occurred at precisely a time where internet was gaining prominence within the masses, alongside online payments.

You know what Ken. I think YOU have a strange way of looking at the world – somewhat.

      Best to you,

      LPG

        Ken,

Just to add a few words, if I may:

You see, I don’t consider myself as a gold bug although I do believe that it is an essential diversification tool/component in an investing portfolio.
I also tend to consider that in the mid-$1100 and below gold is good value.

And at the risk of disappointing, I am below 59, I am below 50, and I am below 40.

        Enjoy Starbucks !

        Best,

        LPG

          LPG……..when you hit 45 you can retire….like me………….hehe J the LONG…..

btw………..I agree with you on Starbuck……….way over rated…..

            Feb 04, 2015 04:08 PM

Make that two of us Jerry, the stuff tastes like poison to me. I won’t touch it. Can’t understand why they deliberately burn the beans and make the taste so bitter. You want to know how to judge a good coffee? It’s one that tastes just as good when its cold as when its hot.

Bird……..thanks for the tip……..never heard that one before.

We need to start doing some background checks on the newcomers………….he,he

        Feb 05, 2015 05:02 PM

Great Point LPG, even with all the digital money options for the last 40 years, (out of the thousands of years of money), Gold still perseveres.

      Feb 05, 2015 05:49 AM

“not one person used . . . anything real” to purchase coffee? “Not real” is NOTHING! I’ll trade you nothing for everything you got. No, there is something because no one in their RIGHT MIND who wants something for something else settles for NOTHING! At least most goldbugs can think. You have uttered nonsense.

      Feb 05, 2015 05:24 AM

Ah this time it will be different. Where’ve I heard that before?

    Feb 04, 2015 04:22 PM

An unnamed General Mr Wiegand? Israel has been wanting to pounce on Iran since the early 1990s. Iran has signed on to, and is in compliance with the international non-proliferation treaty. Israel has nuclear weapons and is not a signatory, but they are in defiance of international law…We are tired of the lies of Israel and their neocon toadies…

      +1 Robin.

        Feb 04, 2015 04:10 PM

        Good grief…. -1 Robin.

      Feb 05, 2015 05:55 AM

“International law” is another garbage concept spewed from Marxists everywhere. The law without checks and balances is lawlessness which is tyranny, unless we are talking about God’s Law. Israel, in NOT complying with “international law” is serving as a CHECK. BTW, all foreign aid, even that to Israel, needs to stop. Get US out of the UN!

        great early morning thought WAYNE…………………….

        Feb 05, 2015 05:51 AM

Careful Wayne, that last two sentences are going to get you a “good grief” from Birdman. LOL

The truth, in general, antagonizes the Bird.

        Feb 05, 2015 05:02 PM

Wayne, do you mean like the Geneva Convention? Yeah, that’s one of those pesky international laws that get in the way of Neocons and the Government of “Israel” that believes they are above law, (thus the ‘torture is good’ mentality).
Now, God’s law is the Torah and apparently you are not very familiar with it, and besides, if you are Christian then according to THAT theology God’s Law is ‘Done away at the cross’ -so don’t talk to me about God’s law.
But talk about tyranny, for those who wish to understand something about the triumvirate economic system of Capitalism, (Debt slavery by currency loaned at interest by a Central Bank – another plank of the communist manifesto adopted by the U.S.), Socialism, (the equal distribution of poverty), and Communism, (rule by Central Bankers, (Oligarchs) in control of the means of production and all natural resources, utilizing Government as a tool of suppression), then readers may get some real history from Anthony Sutton’s books; ‘Wallstreet and the Bolshevik Revoluion’ in particular- http://www.american-buddha.com/cia.wallstreetbolshevik.htm [Free here is not a communist plot, friends, don’t believe the hype]. Agree on the latter point. That’s a good start, Wayne.

          Feb 05, 2015 05:33 AM

Obviously we are in the end game. We can feel it as every one on the top is busy filling leaking holes. I learnt from John Embry and GATA folks and prepared for this end game. Only problem I could never prepare enough and did not realize it hapened so soon. Obviously our little people always get the news the last.

    Feb 05, 2015 05:55 AM

    Anyone buying today?

      Feb 05, 2015 05:25 AM

Dip in to get some energy mutual fund. Just in case there is something I don’t know. The energy shares are too high relative to oil and someone is buying for the last several months. Feel very strange.

        Feb 05, 2015 05:26 AM

If buffett and his friends are buying because they know the price of oil will rise quickly, we will feel stupid after the fact.

      Feb 05, 2015 05:46 AM

I have some orders in but no fills yet. 🙁

XOP is up $9 since my last buy at $43.28 and the weekly chart looks great. I believe it has bottomed.

            Feb 05, 2015 05:26 AM

That is why I am adding mutual fund since I don’t have to worry about commission. I will later sell mutual fund to buy shares. I am adding $500-1000 canadian dollar a day. If I add shares, My reserve fund will be depleted quickly. I think the bottoming process for oil will be much faster than gold since there is no inventory above ground. I feel I cannot afford to wait. Oil has come down more than 50% and equity is not following closely.

            Feb 05, 2015 05:47 AM

I agree about oil and it’s a great deal even if it goes lower. Going all-in at one price point is what the retail Elmer Fudd class of investor does (as Stewart Thomson likes to say). Notice that I bought XOP in the 44s and 43s and said that I hope it goes to 42xx. If I had waited to buy only at my low, gap-filling target, I would have missed the move to 52 completely.

            Feb 05, 2015 05:02 AM

I bought some on the way down at oil 50-60 now they are all up. Sold some encana and waiting to get more if the price drop more. But if it does not drop, I just load mutual fund every day. My money should last a few months.

    Feb 05, 2015 05:50 AM

Claude is in a bull market and is up 180% since June despite being 9% off of its recent high. I think the 233 week EMA is going to be the next major resistance.

I’m a fan of Claude, and can actually say that about 2 years ago, it was you that told me to keep an eye on this company Matthew. I have been watching for a while, and got in a little too early and averaged down to $.29. It feels good to be above water again on this one and look forward to the rise this company will get when the marketplace takes inventory in 2015 for which producers are left and still working. All the best to the team at Claude!
