Whats the stock ticker AL ?

        Feb 19, 2015 19:05 PM

I am a long term holder of Commerce Resources (CMRZF), and am a fan of this company, their projects/assets, and our team. Obviously, I have had to average down with the stocks in the Rare Earth space, but I still remember the 2009-2011 growth, that mirrored the rest of the commodity space, and I see some of that coming back when commodities bottom this spring/fall. Commerce should do quite well as people come back to this space.

It was on my recommended list on yesterday’s post:

        On February 18, 2015 at 2:54 pm,
        Shad says:

Companies to watch that have a potential are Tasman, Avalon, Quest, Commerce Resources, Arafura, Frontier, and Pele Mountain Resources. Those companies each have real projects that actually may see the light of day for various reasons and are the standouts in the sector beyond the producers Molycorp, Lynas, and soon to be Great Western Minerals.

        Shad says:

I didn’t include Matamec, Rare Element Resources, and Ucore to this list of rare earth companies to watch earlier, as I was just doing it from quick reflection, but they have interesting projects as well.

          Feb 19, 2015 19:14 PM

I also posted this yesterday which is relevant to some of the points addressed in this editorial:

          On February 18, 2015 at 2:42 pm,
          Shad says:

Molycorp is the largest producer outside of China, and there is also Lynas, and soon to be Great Western Minerals that will be third to produce from its own mine.

Other companies to watch that have a potential are Tasman, Avalon, Quest, Commerce Resources, Arafura, Frontier, and Pele Mountain Resources. Those companies each have real projects that actually may see the light of day for various reasons and are the standouts in the sector beyond MCP, LYSCF, and GWMGF. Although, right now, the whole space is at rock bottom.

Molycorp bought a really interesting company (NeoMaterials) right as things in the space started going downhill and it is a manufacturer of specialty magnetic powders. This was a great company to acquire, but they overpaid for it right as prices tanked. Then, since most of what they produce is the Light Rare Earths those prices fell hardest. The Heavy Rare Earths are favored for future explorers like what Tasman, Avalon, Arafura, and Commerce Resources have. Molycorp also has created a new product that filters municipal water systems and swimming pools using the Cerium they produce. They just overspent on acquisitions and mine expansion at the exact wrong time in the cycle, but they are the leader in the space outside of China.

It is also interesting to see the interest from the Japanese and Koreans, and car manufacturers, in partnering with the small explorers to lock in the source of more product outside of China’s stranglehold.

Fantastic! Thanks guys. I really appreciate you did a follow up show on this subject. To me this is really interesting as so much of our technology relies on these elements. I love the BC and Quebec connection naturally. Curious about the ticker but I will go dig it up if I can.

For those who don’t get the ticker this way, look for COMMERCE RESOURCES with your respective systems.
    Best again,

North American rare earth companies can not make enough money to survive. There are some Chinese companies in Hong kong exchange such as 0769 China Rare Earth holding corporation. You may have better chance to make some money. I have not done research on HK rare earth stocks since my rare earth companies are in A Shares (ShangHai), so they were up a lot during the last few years. Don’t buy Chinese companies listed in US either, my friends told me he brought some of them here because they are too shaky to be listed in HK and China.

I think there are promoters on this..be careful..promotors receive paybacks…
    pumping miners..

    Feb 20, 2015 20:29 AM

I see Korelin just added Gold Canyon to their sponsor’s list and so has 321 gold, again I might add, 5 million ounces of gold in The Red Lake district of Canada, a very mining friendly and stable environment selling for pennies (17 cents). HMM, the companies with exposure on these websites that have the goods should do very well. DT

      Feb 20, 2015 20:38 AM

Always remember, Do Your own Due Diligence! DT!

anything with gold or silver in the name will do well, when the market returns…..jmho

Oh, I am thinking of starting a report…CAIRN ECON. REPORT…..will be the dogs of the mining sector…..I am naming it in memory of my cairn terrior dog, and a main character in the WIZ OF OZ…………….LOL…………………..J…..

          Feb 20, 2015 20:00 AM

Especially deposits of 3 million ounces or more situated in a stable environment, by the way don’t leave your ordinary occupation as head poster boy until your cairn report starts flying off the shelves. Maybe you could get Al to put your picture on his site so we could see your profile, head poster boy.

          Glenfidish,

          Mixed action from me actually.

I zeroed a SMALL position yesterday as chart seemed to be near exhaustion on the way up.

As mentioned on Wed, I added to another pos, opened a new one and also added to PVG before FOMC. But I reversed this PVG add yesterday after the open (I also posted that). Reason for reversing on PVG was that the weekly seems to suggest a bit more weakness, which I had missed in the first place. I’ll try to get it below $6 again – orders are in place.

I was also tempted to add on some names, but the technicals are not clear cut to me, so I refrained.

Re: your question re: another push down ? OF COURSE I wish 🙂 But I note “hope”(wish) is not a strategy. 🙂

Best to you, and GL to all investing/trading.
