Doc, XON is a stock that I have been considering buying into since Gary mentioned biotechs recently which resulted in myself having a good read of the entire industry.
It’s results are out on Monday and it could pop substantially. To be frank, I had been hoping for a bit of a conventional market correction this week with it back down nearer 30 bucks.
I think I would like the stock better nearer 30 bucks for a longterm hold.
Bob, both stocks look like they want to take a rest here for awhile. I wouldn’t be surprised if they pull back a little especially with a stock market correction. I’m not adding here and am waiting for a correction. You might get your wish.
Thanks Doc.
Being greedy – ha ha – I was hoping for a good old conventional market correction this week and then, on Monday, XON would come out with great results and soar.
Wishful thinking.
Who knows; I never seem to get the earnings right—that’s why I like technicals. If I buy before earnings, then you can bet the stock gets taken to the woodshed and if I don’t, the stock screams higher. I’ve given up on that one.
XON did well. Up 6%ish after hours. Short covering?
Eyes went up today again; one more than a dozen biotechs with double digit percentage gains in a day.
Chen Lin likes biotechs. He also mentioned two anti-cancer stocks on Jay Taylor’s show.
There have been some interesting comments on seeking alpa about pharma.
Some of the companies I do not own, but are on my watch list are :
It’s Intersting. I am listening to jolly personable guy Mike Swanson talking to Jordan Roy-Byrne on Mikes Wall Street Window website.
Jordan likes looking at the 400 day moving average (or 80 week).
Anyway, a comment on the gold rallies since the first $1180 bottom in June 2013.
Each of the 3 rallies has been more laborious at the beginning than the last. The first one that went to $1434 was a V-bottom, the second one to $1393 was a wider V perhaps a U and the third one at the turn of this year to $1308
was more like a W, very choppy at the low.

The lows are getting more bowl-shaped and the whole gold market action is getting more concave, or U-shaped, rather than convex or n-shaped, as has characterized the entire bear market from $1800 in September 2012 down to now (on the weekly chart), meaning accelerations to the downside – maybe that exceed Rick’s targets on the downside as he likes to say. The concave nature of bull markets may be those accelerations to the upside that exceed Rick’s targets to the upside.
The step out of this latest downtrend is a nice U-shaped rolling to the upside on the daily chart. Why this is, I do not know. It can mislead to see this on a shorter term chart but the weekly chart shapes are just different in bull and bear markets.

I would include more but this damned iPad keeps altering things!
It is part of Apple’s plan to take Humans out of the loop – the next but one Apple will no longer need Humans. They will simply bill themselves to your credit cards and then they will take to one another without you.
Spell correct is a real pain when deployed gets changed from dplo or to diplomat
dPLO gets changed to deploy and I capitalized the first d…….ugh.
GENE did well in February!

OK I am going to drone on about this a bit more.
http://goldsilverworldscom.c.presscdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/dollar-gold-price-chart-weekly-2012_04_04.png
The gold chart in this link, take a look. Concave on the way up then started to hint at a convex nature at the $1220 top in 2009 and really in the $434 top in late 2010 – a warning – gold is below that now.
However look at the early stages of silver bull market, all the action is concave. Everything is a U (or more like a J as it steps up, no n-shapes anywhere:
http://www.amergold.com/email2/GMU_9-06_5-yr_silver.gif
Now that is momentum. note that this chart shows late 2001 to late 2006, the action up to $14, all concave and no convex action at all – AND NOW SILVER HAS NOT BEEN BELOW $14 ON THE DOWNSIDE IN THIS BEAR MARKET!
Does anyone look at this kind of morphology. There must be a way to define this mathematically with 1st and 2nd derivatives or rates of change. Is there a standard technical indicator for the 1st and 2 derivatives?
***** OUTSPOKEN PUTIN OPPONENT SHOT DEAD ****** KILLED IN FRONT OF THE KREMLIN **
So much for FREEDOM OF SPEECH…….OH WAIT………….that’s only in America……….right ????
I am thinking that the reason for the murder has not been determined and the identity of the killers has not been determined. It is entirely possible that Putin and his government had nothing to do with the situation. For all we know it might have been the Jewish mafia AKA Russian mafia that did the deed. Putin has no need to resort to such thuggery and every incentive to play the legal and political game because it works.
Sure convenient for Putin………wouldn’t you say……………….j

Here is a video of Putin 2 years ago addressing this issue. It’s 2 min long and the translation is excellent.

Correction 1 min. 09 sec. in duration, not 2 min.
Steady as she goes…..people….steady as she goes…………
the coming high end apple watch will reportedly contain 2oz of gold, therefore apple’s use of gold will impact the use of yearly gold supply through the sale of millions of these watches to individuals. this could be the start of a huge new gold metal demand worldwide.
If this is the case, can the idea just die before it is put to action. This can be done with one phone call.
China’s lending rate is dropped from 5.6% to 5.35%. Apparently competitive devaluation is still live and well. Now all the other major economies have a rate of 0%. Look like it is still going lower.
Doc;
Do you have any comments about Aurinia Pharmaceuticals?
As a person who tried to exit the US, but had to return for healthcare, I am focussing what time I have left to looking at pharma, big and small.
Doc;
Same question goes for Trillium Therapeutics, TRIL, on NASDAQ.
I also have interests in TBUFF, KHTRF, CHEHF, AUPH…….all of which seem to have investment potentiality.
Doc;
How about CYTX, and its schleroderma treatment.
