    Al and Chris:
You two are analyzing too deeply instead of concentrating on what to do……; hell, it’s simple……buy the S&P and sell gold; it’ll all work itself out and we can make it up on volume! No?

      Mar 04, 2015 04:43 AM

And buy cheap cigars and light them up with $100 bills….since you’ll be rolling in money.

Mr Temple. I am in agreement that we have not seen the real ramifications of the financial mess that will be caused in the US with the low oil prices. The banks that loaned, the bond holders, the huge right downs that the industry will take as a result of their reserves diminishing or disappearing at $50 oil. That could set off a chain reaction that will get ugly in the short to mid term.

    Al and Chris,

It’s not as bad as you think. They will restructure the financial system soon.

    Mar 04, 2015 04:22 AM

All of the central banks around the globe meet Basel III capital requirements as of today! 244 banks in somewhere near 160 countries.
    They are now Re-Capitalized!
I guess they found a new liquidity mechanism and debt restructure method.

The whole world is in massive debt.

The US is in as bad a place as Greece, if someone removed its the US) credit card.
The US is only surviving by cheating on interest rates.
AND by keeping interest rates low is not the US just also stealing from us and our savings to live.
They can’t steal from a pension lockbox, because there isn’t one.

    Mar 04, 2015 04:44 AM

I see the US debt being paid off. What hell..it’s not real anyway..

The same planet you do bud. Planet fiat

If FED issues the money to pay off debt, the dollar in criculation will pass the point hyper inflation immediately. No country have survived money issuance at 120% of GDP. This is the reason why SNB pulled off their peg because their money issuance is over 60% of their GDP. They will face hyper inflation in the next few years if they kept going.

Off topic, but related to yday, I personally enjoyed Jon Stewart’s take on it.
What I also appreciate, on top of the obvious entertainment, is the perspective he gives.

    Enjoy – or not 🙂

LPG — You brought back to mind this great skit from SNL some time back:

And I must also caution on that SNL skit that it’s not for the faint of heart…vulgar, if otherwise appropriate

            Chris,

I think it worked for you because of your location – ie USA.

Most of the links I came across on this subject on the internet had location restrictions. Even w. VPN, I couldn’t watch them… until I bumped into the liveleak link I posted.

            Best to you,

I get that all the time LPG. A lot of stuff won’t play in Africa. Hell, Google will not even allow me to search on some topics without being screened first. This is all part of how the internet is already being controlled and is no longer entirely open access as it once was.

            Hello Birdman,

            Hope all’s well.

I agree parts of the internet is being controlled – quite unsurprisingly.

I think that in this particular case with Chris’ link, it’s simply an issue of “rights” and where the owner of the content want rights to be paid first in order to have the content available. And if a region/country hasn’t paid the rights, then the content owner doesn’t want the content to be viewable there. Nothing surprising – to me at least. I have the same experience with soccer and games resume.

If one thinks about it, it’s also the same w. DVDs, Blue Rays, and even things such as video games on consoles: all of these have regions (which enable different pricing strategies).

So all of this is no big deal most of the time, although I recon, that it is annoying at times.

Hence the need for a good VPN – although in my case, it didn’t solve everything.
Technology is often the case of cat and mouse.

Best to you and GL to all investing/trading.

        Hello Chris,

Thank you for the URL but I couldn’t watch the video from the link (says it’s unavaible).

After various attempts, I managed to find a video which I believe is the same one as the link you provided:

Thank you also as I learned 2 things today:
        1) the word “skit”
        2) and the thingy (that cannot be done) on the donkey 🙂

Best to you, and thanks for your daily input on Kereport.

The Dictator strikes again with executive action:
Call it Common Core for police. But the White House, in cahoots with the Department of Justice, has set in motion a plan that will expand federal control of community police forces, via standards handed from above called the “Task Force on 21st Century Policing.”

The plan was released Monday, Infowars reported. And its gist? Like Common Core, the education plan criticized by opponents as little more than a federal mandate that’s tied to funding, the just-released police plan would force local law enforcement agencies to follow federally set standards in return for receiving federal tax dollars.

Chris Temple this is one stretched band..and then some.

Warren: Citigroup, Morgan Stanley, Merrill Lynch Received $6 Trillion Backdoor Bailout from Fed

“During the financial crisis, Congress bailed out the big banks with hundreds of billions of dollars in taxpayer money; and that’s a lot of money. But the biggest money for the biggest banks was never voted on by Congress. Instead, between 2007 and 2009, the Fed provided over $13 trillion in emergency lending to just a handful of large financial institutions. That’s nearly 20 times the amount authorized in the TARP bailout.
