Two criminal familes running for the Presidency – Bush & Clinton says it all about where the U.S. nation now is .

        Mar 21, 2015 21:29 AM

George H.W. Bush calls Bill Clinton his son, and Jeb calls Hillary his sister. God help us if we can’t do better than these 2 corrupt, criminal clans, assuming B.O. doesn’t declare himself president for life and cancel the 2016 election after he lets Iran get nukes and blow up several American cities on one sad day. That has been his and the Iranian born Valerie Jarret’s plan all along.

Kind of interesting. Story of the March 18th USD flash crash and the role of dollar liquidity.

Incidentally, inflation expectations have declined since the dollar took its huge ride up. What that means is that as the dollar corrects down off its parabolic climb we will see an uptick in expectations of inflation and that in turn will create the opening for a rate hike. I think that will come by late summer and probably before September. The dollars decline, if it follows the pattern of parabolic moves means that it will take roughly the amount of time to retrace that it took to run as high as it did. It also means the unwind in the coming weeks could be steep and be a surprise to most of the market.

        Mar 21, 2015 21:11 AM

Bird’s mind conveniently skips over the huge debt which is the impediment that won’t allow The Fed to raise rates.

        Mar 21, 2015 21:23 AM

The comment I left was not about me, Dick. It is a comment based on facts and an acknowledgement of the dynamics taking place in the market where inflation expectations are concerned and how those weigh on the deliberation process regarding rate setting. I did not remark on whether rate hikes were positive or negative nor what the ramifications might be for the economy.

You have read more into my comment than I wrote. Stop with the assumptions.

          Mar 21, 2015 21:35 AM

Assumptions are your forte’ not mine, I am stating fact.

          Mar 21, 2015 21:48 AM

          Really???

Well I commented on inflation expectations….but you commented on Bird’s mind!

Maybe we need to drill in a little deeper, Dick. You stated that debt creates an impediment to interest rate hikes. Are you sure about that? What you are doing is projecting an idea that the economy cannot stand a rate increase and assuming that a hike will result in some kind of uncomfortable result. Maybe a slow down…maybe another housing bust will come….maybe taxes will have to be increased etc etc.

          Am I correct so far?

But let me ask you this: If it was low rates that created the bubbles and expansion in debt we are now seeing is not also logical to conclude that the remedy is to increase rates and thus bring some discipline back to credit markets and thus slow the rate of debt growth?

Give me an answer to that. What do you prefer? Lower rates and more debt expansion or higher rates and a slower growth in debt? You don’t get to have it both ways. You must make a decision.

            Mar 21, 2015 21:57 AM

There is no longer a textbook application to what is going on now. Your assumptions are wrong, when there was a way out it should have been appied long before the present situation existed.

            Mar 21, 2015 21:08 AM

Bird…..I really dont care one way or another…I made my macro plays based on long term trends…you have undoubtedly (a guess) made money playing these markets….if so..good for you..and heaven knows you have some brains but come on…the music is going to stop and people will get hurt…DT is right this should have been stopped a long time ago. The way out..as DT noted was to go through MASSES amount of financial pain…seven years ago to “CLEANSE” the system and let it heal organically – we didnt and now there is going to be a HUGE price to pay- and NO dont give me this ___that they can play their fiddle indefinitely….no way…no how as in aint going happen. As in…..end of story.

Well, Bird, Al,Cory and everyone on hear actually.

Bird makes a contribution to the discussion about the show.

Bird is instantly attacked personally, Bird attempts to redirect from the attack and focus on a discussion and Bird is attacked yet again.

We have seen this more often than I can remember now.
Retorts will be something negative towards Bird or myself I imagine.

Should a new person reading that really going to want to contribute?

Totally sad, and it makes me wonder about the calibre of thought on these threads.

Bird, your understanding is greater than mine and I would prefer you got an answer from someone more qualified but I give my thought anyway.
I agree with J Turk, J Taylor, we should see a deflation as dollars are hoarded, as they are dropped due to alternatives to swift, brics bank etc we will see inflation.

I think there is so much currency now the path is set and increases/decreases in lending
rates might have short term effect but be no more than cosmetic to the bigger picture.
I think the world has too many dollars.

Bird, and anyone else interested in the topic, just thought of it.

You may find, “Grant’s, interest rate observer”
more to the calibre of discussion you are looking for on the topic.
Jim Grant is one of the guys I really like anyway.

            Mar 21, 2015 21:46 AM

bb, get out the crying towel, poor bird he never say’s anything derogatory about others. As far as other new posters are concerned people are free to speak as they wish and I don’t think that your point about new posters has validity. DT

            Mar 21, 2015 21:49 AM

I agree with DT………..I think some new posters would agree they have been attacked, you only need to go back a couple of weeks……………………jmho.

            Mar 21, 2015 21:51 AM

AS, I told Matthew……….I would like to just get on down the road, and end this nonsense………….j

            Mar 21, 2015 21:30 AM

Thanks bb. I was a little puzzled by the response I got to the initial comments. It could be I just wasn’t explaining myself very well though and too much was left to the imagination. But I am happy to give it another try and this time add the chart I was referring too.

If you look at the chart for 5 year, 5 year forward interest rate expectations (linked) what you see is that the quoted rate fell sharply just as the dollar began rising in middle 2014.

At that point it hit fairly solid support just below 2% and made a double bottom. And that has some significance for defending my view that the dollar has now peaked at least on an interim basis.

That chart was actually one of the first clues the dollar was getting ready to fall back if viewed from a technical angle. Inflation expectations based on the spreads in other words are set to rise and that told us indirectly that the dollar would decline.

That is in fact what is taking place right now (dollar down and 5-year up) and as I have expressed many times in the past days it is my opinion the dollar has indeed topped and that both expected and real inflation will now begin to rise.

This is partly a function of the dollar losing buying power and partly because commodities will now respond by rising. The two are obviously connected here. But the most important point from my perspective was that as this happens it increases the odds that we do in fact get a rate increase from the Fed in the coming months.

Most here would agree that a few conditions need to exist if rates are to rise. The most important though is that the Fed cannot take action as long as the dollar is still climbing so it was important to note its near vertical rise leading up to the FOMC and to appreciate that the tone of the remarks would in all likelihood trigger a dollar sell-off.

We got that. The fallback has only just begun. We are therefore virtually assured a rate hike after middle 2015. In the immediate future, short dollar trades are now the correct way to position in my opinion.

I hope that was a better explanation!

DT,J, I think you guys miss the point entirely.

            Mar 21, 2015 21:46 AM

            Excellent explanation Bird.

I am going to guess so many nations dropping the dollar exacerbate the scenario as well.
            But what do I know?

And thanks for the input Bird.

            Mar 21, 2015 21:57 AM

Anytime bb! An evidence based approach is the way to go when we have uncertainty about changes in the marketplace. For me, this was an easy call to make (Euro / dollar reversal) even as the majority of analysts keep worrying about further dollar strength. I feel very confident they are all going to be wrong and get caught on the wrong side of the market. But that’s the way it always goes so perhaps its not a surprise I would find myself virtually alone in this regard. The thing about the dollar though is that when it does change direction it impacts absolutely everything in its path. So I am not talking about just a short dollar trade or anything like that….this one goes much deeper and is fundamental to the markets daily behavior.

            bb
            Mar 21, 2015 21:48 PM

Absolutely it goes deeper Bird, I think the east, BRICs bank etc are just evidence there are people preparing for the dollar decline. Heck, the obvious clue is the huge accumulation of gold.

You know, it all could be just preparation to extend “the game” of the banks.
A new reserve, tweek the rules a little and on it goes.

I hope they get things dealt with before we have another French revolution scenario.
The other concern I have is war, Im hoping this thing with isis is big enough to satisfy the warmongers in Washington. That remains to be seen of course.

            Mar 21, 2015 21:48 PM

bb. IF there is any apologies necessary on this end, or misunderstand, ….As I have said many times…….sorry…j

J, My point, which will be obvious to any reading the thread.
Bird made some constructive comments provoking an intelligent conversation at minimum.

Unprovoked he was instantly attacked personally.
Bird attempts to “skirt” the personal attack and promote intelligent discourse to no avail.

Taking into account the minds that respond in such a manner, one would wonder the value of their further comments on any topic.
It under minds the purpose that most visit here.

I don’t understand why people cant see that.

Sure, people “lose it” once in awhile, but consistent promotion of this attitude should at least be frowned upon and should in no way be supported for the betterment of understanding our investing options etc.

Its just has no benefit to anyone especially when it concerns an excellent contributor such as Bird.

I guess his accurate commentary of gold dropping for so long has been taken personally by some people, he is even ridiculed when he accurately calls such things as dollar down euro up, if they thought about it, his comments concerning the drops in gold and others have been extremely valuable. They sure have been to me.

Anyway, Im just not going to support personal attacks.

On “kids” sites it is known as “bullying” and there are a lot of people doing what they can to stop it and some very serious consequences from it.
Sometimes we have the opportunity to learn from our kids.

You don’t owe me any apologys J, I just ask everyone not to support personal attacks.

J, on the other hand, some of the arguments between Bird and Mathew were hilarious and really entertaining

I would just ask them both to use “idiot” “stupid” and “moron” correctly. lol

BB says: “Bird makes a contribution to the discussion about the show.

            ——————-

Forget the “dynamic duo,” this site has its own static duo in Birdman and BB (Birdboy). Birdman’s number one groupie will always look past his combative, obnoxious antics.
Those who aren’t high on Birdman’s gas can clearly see that it is HE who is always aggressive, disrespectful, and arrogant FIRST. Not to mention assumptive.

Newsflash, BB: Birdman took credit for my purchase of UUP puts the other day then HE attacked when I corrected him. Do you understand? HE attacked when he should have APOLOGIZED for his extremely arrogant assumption.

It’s really not becoming of you that you must get on your knees every time he appears.

Let me think Mathew, would stupid idiot or moron be the correct response? lol

            Mar 21, 2015 21:59 PM

bb, you really get to be tiresome when you insist on constantly being mini-me!

            Mar 21, 2015 21:17 PM

bb, make sure you plug your scooter in tonight so you can follow the master around tomorrow. LOL!

            Mar 21, 2015 21:51 PM

I am not sure what else can be said to get you and the others back on topic, Dick.

I can give it another try though. The main point here is that if the dollar begins a decline now (as I expect) then by default inflation and inflation expectations will be on the rise in the US. The immediate outcome will be that real interest rates go negative and thus propulsion is added to the idea that a rate hike must follow.

Negative rates are not the norm. Although they are becoming more common lately (especially in Europe) we should not expect that to be a permanent feature of fund markets and as a result it is an expectation that gradual rate hikes will be necessary to combat the obvious losses buyers of debt securities suffer as inflation is on the rise and the old rate regime is held low.

You need to look at the TIPS yields and the 5-Year inflation expectations to appreciate why such a situation cannot go on indefinitely. My basic idea is to explain why a rise in interest rates is unavoidable and why we need to prepare for those changes as they come about during a period when the dollar goes through a cyclical decline phase.

Just flow chart it for yourself and I think you will arrive at a conclusion that is similar to my own. This is probably my last attempt on the topic this weekend since some of you are more interested in venting at me than staying on topic but if you are interested in the discussion (in less personal ways) then I am open to a conversation.

            My assertion is the following:

The dollar is about to fall and as it does inflation expectations will rise which will result in actual inflation numbers coming in stronger on the back of rising resource prices. As an outcome, interest rates will go negative in real terms and the Fed will have no choice but to begin raising rates during mid 2015 and through 2016. Depending on the strength of inflation setting in the rate rises could exceed those most pundits now predict or they could come at more frequent intervals.

All of this will play into how we approach our daily investing and what longer term bets we make. Anyway….the ball is in your court, Dick. This is not about me or your resentments so lets get back on track or drop it altogether for this weekend.

            Mar 21, 2015 21:24 PM

Just as an aside, I am pretty surprised that so few of you seem to get that we just experienced a very fundamental change in the marketplace. Even the Pop analyst community seems to have been caught off-guard as they continue to blather on endlessly about dollar strength and the hazards of the dollar trade gone wild.

They missed the turn entirely. Not by a minute but by a mile.

What is obvious to me seems to be a complete mystery to most others who discuss the major currency trends. I feel confident though that you will see (given a little more time) that my frank assessment in the dollar inflection point was correct and that my call for a dollar top (Euro bottom) I made some days ago is going to be 100% right.

I can issue warnings until I am black and blue but if you won’t even give those thoughts a moments consideration I can’t help you. Let’s just say that actions speak louder than words.

As the long-dollar trades unwind in the coming weeks you might reflect back on this comment and maybe try to be less of an arrogant ass than you usually are and maybe try to learn something new for a change of pace.

Long tem treasuries are extremely risky and interest rates should go up.

J, I just thought the interview might be interesting to Bird, a bit of confermation with his thinking.

I have seen charts that show treasury yields are directly correlated to the gold price, yield up gold down and vice versa.
For someone like myself, a timeframe of 2020-25 payoff for gold, these views confirm I am on the right track.

In the interest of diversification I intend to move into agriculture, not stopping gold accumulation tho.
Even if Bird does figure chickens are wiser, but Im not in E.Africa.

We have a not dissimilar situation here Jay. When it comes to making choices I can’t really stand any of the parties for our forthcoming May General Election . Nigel Farage of UKIP is having to fend off scandals and bully boy charges affecting three of his elected members; Cameron of the Tories is said to be no more than a stooge for the Obama government; whilst Ed Milliband of the Labour Party will only plunge the nation into greater debt still.
What can you do? Who can you vote for? Neo-cons and psychos are everywhere!

And I definitely have no time for the old go to comments about not being able to complain because I don’t want to participate in electoral nonesense, there are a great deal of constructive ways one can put their “vote” forth through action , dialogue, and participation OUTSIDE the federal political sphere!! The Federal Reserve has effectively thrown in the towel on any raise in interest rates.
The dollar’s parabolic moon shot may be over…
UK, Germany, France, Italy, & Australia ditch the US, join Chinese/Russian-led Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank.
The dollar will begin to weaken when the market begins to realize what has occurred.
About the new LBMA in London, China is so disgusted with the whole process they have decided, thus far, not to participate in the “new” gold fix. As a matter of fact, they have decided there should be a gold fix based on the yuan (renminbi) and the price discovery should be handled in Shanghai at the Shanghai Gold Exchange.

Good show today Al & Cory. I am tapped out on comments and thoughts on the markets, the Fed, currencies, and PM stocks, but posted quite a bit yesterday my thoughts. Just wanted to say thanks to everyone for their contributions and ideas.

      Have a great weekend everyone!

      Gabriel,

That is an interesting chart. Notice that it is still trading ,and has not broke out of it’s downward trend trading channel. Gold is going to drop.

        Mar 21, 2015 21:16 AM

The channel broke up which is very bullish. It may now retrace a bit
to retest the upper band which would be a good long entry …

The indicators are pointing up, but I still would be careful going long here.
The bear ends with a washout faze. It doesn’t end like this.

            Mar 21, 2015 21:44 AM

The washout faze should be this next few weeks.
            Key word ” should “

The question is, breakout or fake out.
We will know one way or the other soon.

    Mar 21, 2015 21:19 AM

the discussion should not be about who the liberal media and the elites try to get nominated. I’ts time to get aggressive and work to get someone nominated that will turn the country back in the right direction and can win . Ben Carson gets the conservative vote, womens vote, black votes and grass root votes

    Mar 21, 2015 21:28 AM

I really have to disagree with many of the political comments by Rick, Doc and Al regarding ideology of one party over another. Both parties share the same ideology and that it to support and speak for the corporation via the state.
I find it SAD that so many folks here pick away at Obama’s faults and now Hillery’s, when they fail to acknowledge that it doesn’t matter which party runs the old Empire. It is owned and run by a corporate elite who “manage” elections and “free speech” via money and oligopolies. If it’s not a “gentleman’s agreements” to suppress wages in silicon valley or a media controlled by 3 or 4 conglomerates, it;s some other scam creating an unfair playing field. More importantly the U.S.A has several GREAT academics who have diagnosed the deeper problems with the Empire. One of them is retired Princeton political philosopher Sheldon Wolin. Back in 2008 he wrote a little ditty called Democracy Incorporated: Managed Democracy and the Specter of Inverted Totalitarianism. This book will give you a guild as to what has happened to the U.S and where it actually is politically. He calls it “Inverted Totalitarianism.” Heavy indeed; but a good diagnosis for the sick republic. It’s all about dividing the people through political rhetoric, permanent job worries and economic distress/uncertainty. People on both sides of the political spectrum should take a look at this book. It aint an easy read but well worth the effort! Maybe both Democrats and Republican voters can see through the lies that divide citizens and create a third vision that challenges the hegemonic corporate/state power which is currently runs the “bread and circus” spectacle that IS the U.S.A today. Being able to articulate this political crisis is only a starting point but it is the first step towards real positive change. Until that happens you are doomed to repeat the same dismal loop of slow decline.

That’s right…they are all criminal gangsters…they are just different wings of the same evil bird of prey…and they consider you their tax livestock…

      Mar 21, 2015 21:40 AM

Confused , I would agree…….both parties are the same TWO HEADED SNAKE, been that way for a long time.

        CFS
        Mar 21, 2015 21:20 AM

NO They are not the same; both parties are corrupt and self-serving.
However, their foreign policies are, indeed, different in certain respects.

The antisemitic, pro-Islamic views of Obama are VERY dangerous. In allowing Iran to gain nuclear power, he is destabilizing the Middle East even more than it already is.

The failure of Government to control spending; whether it is due to crony capitalism or excessive socialism/Marxism, will have the same destructive results on the economy and thus either major political party is, indeed, destroying the country.

We need a revolution, just as much as those emerging countries that have overthrown the yolks of dictatorships, but the power of the US Government and its surveilence is now so great that any attempt at Revolution is impossible; whether by force or the ballot box.
We thus will muddle along until the system collapses in what I suspect will be a new Dark Age. Different, but distressing for several future generations.

          Mar 21, 2015 21:40 AM

cfs……….My comments concerning the TWO HEADED SNAKE, goes back to 1837, when Jackson and the parties were…..THE WHIGS…….AND THE DEMOCRATIC REPUBLICANS, correct me if I am wrong.

      Absolutely right Confused.

When these guys talk as there is some kind of difference between the parties you have to wonder,
surely its obvious enough now to anyone looking what is happening.

I want to know when does discussing a difference in political parties become promotion of the police state?

Anyone studying history knows the outcome we will see, it is when now, not if.
When do the people rise up significantly and when does the dollar dominance end, these are two, when, not if.

Another move of many moves both past and in the future that will slowly compromise the dollar as the reserve currency along with current institutions will be the establishment of CIPS toward the end of this year. The hits just keep on coming. As mentioned in the past the death of the dollar will not suddenly happen but will happen over a protracted period of time. That’s probably also why the PM sector move higher will take a long period of time and why we’re in the midst of the longest bull market in the history of mankind. One has to wonder whether that bull market birth was actually in 1971 when Nixon took us off the Bretton Woods global gold standard.

    Mar 21, 2015 21:05 AM

Excellent point Doc! However, I do think that the time period is excelerating due to America”s geopolitical/economic policiies that are indeed foolhearty and boardering on myopic lunacy and a strong dose of extreme panic!

      Mar 21, 2015 21:15 AM

I couldn’t agree more that the time period is accelerating. The period between crises continue to narrow both financially and geo-politically. The next few years are going to be interesting to watch.

    Mar 21, 2015 21:18 AM

    Agreed Doc…agreed!

    Mar 21, 2015 21:18 AM

On the attack of Bird. Incidentally I saw When Birds Attack! Lol
Bird is a huge contributor of the show. Right or wrong it wouldn’t be the same at all without him. I wish I had time to read all the comments but I don’t.
I do believe the U.S. dollar should correct or consolidate but a large decline I think is out of the question. There’s few places as stable as the U.S. at least they have an economy. The debt is large but China and Japan were buying their bonds a while ago while everyone was talking about the death of the dollar. That was pretty entertaining in itself. Sorry I can’t remember the actual figures.

      Mar 21, 2015 21:47 AM

Bill; I agree that a demise in the dollar is not imminent. Technically, we may get a short term pullback here but then I believe we move higher. When the dollar peaks technically, it should hang around the top of its’ range for awhile just as gold did at its’ peak. I believe the Euro still has a way to go lower since it’s Draghi’s turn to print for awhile and the Euro makes up about 57.6% of the dollar index. The Japanese are still printing yen hand over fist and should continue until they see the futility of their ways. In my view, the U.S. will return to their profligate dollar printing days again in the future whether or not the euro and yen printing is exhausted. It’s at that point in time when you should see the next massive move up in the PMs. However, I believe we’re months away from that event.

        Mar 21, 2015 21:16 PM

        Thanks for the comment DOC.
I personal would wish the USD would tank….Only because I own a lot of Loonies and It hurts to buy US right now….

The political portions of this show was more comedy than anything else. When you have a serious discussion about Hillary and Jeb becoming president, you know you’ve lost your marbles.
The discussion should be about “what steps to take to stop the oligarchy and vote as an independent , and back a candidate of truth “!

Glen Downs is talking about a proposed budget when the treasury is taking funds from the pension funds right now to keep the country afloat!

Friggin twilight zone! ( land of the lost..

    Mar 21, 2015 21:50 AM

    Scott,
Interesting point about Bernie Sanders. He’s the only one in congress that I’ve heard tell the truth.
I think the independent party should have a national convention and take the multi media platforms and internet. Totally disengage with the mainstream media.
The independent party needs a stout candidate.

I have been looking for an entry point to buy Transocean for the last three months luckily I held off with the oil crash and all. They have been laying off oil workers in Canada to beat the band, I imagine The US is in lock step with us. I believe that the price of oil will be back to about $65 to $70 by summer’s end as some are suggesting but the big oil boom of the past is not coming back for a while if ever. I also think Transocean could slip below Ten Dollars if we see oil near Rick Ackerman’s projections. So I will bide my time to see how this plays out. DT

      Mar 21, 2015 21:48 PM

Dick; a few months ago someone asked me if they should purchase RIG when the price was over 20. I stated then the technicals showed pricing should drop further. I believe you may get it ultimately in the 10 range.

        Mar 21, 2015 21:28 PM

        Thanks, Richard.

      Mar 22, 2015 22:24 AM

Below 10 bucks? That will be a heck of a fall in 12 months.

What are the chances of a company like Transocean going bust the longer this oil price drop continues?

This site is high quality regarding stocks and PM stocks. There are many bright individuals with a wide array of knowledge.

On a politically speaking perspective, it’s pretty dismal. It appears that many suffer from W.I.F.S. ( world is flat syndrome ) and WIFS left untreated can develop into H.U.Y.A.S. ( head up your ass syndrome ) And HUYAS is different than most diseases, it affects your children and future generations.

I’ve never been accused if being politically correct. But I do realize I can’t pick up a turd from the clean end either!

    Mar 22, 2015 22:54 AM

How very true and we keep getting screwed & lied to..until…

What is tragic about this entire POLITICAL CONVERSATION , which is non sense, WE keep talking in circles with the same MORONS….

    Mar 22, 2015 22:22 AM

Nothing’s going to change I do believe. We are in a managed economy. Corporations and banks hold the government puppet strings. Democracy died a ways back. We can complain all we want but the only thing that would trigger a revolution is mass starvation. It ain’t going to happen. Might as well live with it.

      Mar 22, 2015 22:43 AM

Wrong…….you give up to easily Bill, ….just have a conversation with some of your friends and family, provide the evidence to them. If you know, then you should share, if you do not know stick around you might find out something you do not know.

        Mar 22, 2015 22:11 PM

The thing is the vast majority are completely clueless as to what is going on. The first step is becoming aware…That’s not happening…The majority of Americans cant even scrape together a couple grand…Their busy trying to survive..As I said before its a global consolidation. Free trade or globalization is slavery for the average person…That’s the event that is happening now…

          Mar 22, 2015 22:30 PM

I agree with…. but, we were talking about changing …….The main point you said ,,was “becoming aware”….I think this is where the sharing comes in to those who are not aware.(if possible)…….consider it a grass roots attempt.

I don’t know why so many are so slow to learn the lessons of the past, but if the Fed does start to raise rates, it will be good for gold. I explained this two years when a newbie got his feathers ruffled by the facts and have mentioned several times since. One wise Adam Hamilton knows it too:
“Gold, and therefore silver, thrive when conventional asset classes like stocks and bonds are weak. And rate hikes hammer them. While gold climbed 50% in that last rate-hike cycle, silver soared by 80%! So don’t make the common mistake of fearing Fed rate hikes, as the investment capital just floods into gold and silver in those environments.
The entire 1970s precious-metals mega-bull was in rising and super-high rates.”

I am sure this is the last time I want to hear from you that you have been here for 3675 agonizing days (or whatever). As if a long time is a good time. Christ that is pathetic.

Sorry but I don’t even want an association with the endless crap that comes out of your keyboard every day. You really need a long holiday OOTB. Let Al sort it out. As of today I agree with the many people who have objected strenuously to your mindless one-line posts.

Jerry, he is a hollow man, for him life is all about himself!

    Mar 22, 2015 22:25 AM

    Al:
As a lifelong Dem let me assure you there are many in the Democratic Party that are not thrilled with Hillary’s candidacy. Hillary is owned and operated by Wall Street and just like her hubby she will sell out the middle class, poor and old in a heartbeat. I am actively talking with folks and arguing for a real primary, so far most folks are agreeing with me. As I see it Hillary is being shoved down the mouth’s of the Democratic Party’s base by the party’s establishment. The same thing is true about the Republican Party – the elites of the Republican Party are actively in the process of shoving Jeb down the throat of the Republican Base. The leadership of both parties know that time is short and it won’t be long before a Hillary vs Jeb campaign in inevitable and that is exactly what they want. In that case the powers-that-be will win no matter who get elected.

      Mar 22, 2015 22:57 AM

I say it is a PEOPLE VS. THE MACHINE…….there are no parties for the people.

        Mar 22, 2015 22:58 AM

so, therefore I agree with you Mike.

          Mar 22, 2015 22:59 PM

Sadly it boils down to a massive case of Kabuki Theater – it really is quite irrelevant who is dancing before the crowd. What matters is who is behind the curtain pulling the strings are we all know that is being done by and for the Big Banks and Wall Street.

    Mar 22, 2015 22:15 PM

“Ted Kennedy one of the Kennedy good boys”…really Al?
What the hell do we have a Republic for? Lets just dissolve the Republic and get a king. Barf…
You think an Oligarchy is what we need more of. What happened to your mind?

      Mar 22, 2015 22:07 PM

      Manfred,

We haven’t been a republic since 1871. The act of 1871 circumvented the constitution and created a corporation. An oligarchy!
The simple fix is to repeal the act of 1871.
That solves most of the problem. It’s really “that simple”

        Mar 22, 2015 22:32 PM

I guess we better stop pledging our allegiance to the republic then ,and pledge allegiance to the corporate states of america.
        Will check that out.
        Thanks

        Mar 22, 2015 22:49 PM

Chartster …………..KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK…………appreciate……………..j

      Mar 22, 2015 22:49 PM

Ted Kennedy was a disgrace both in his personal life and political…he is one of the reasons for the disasterous legislation that led to the melt down…John Kennedy was the only Kennedy that made sense….

    Mar 22, 2015 22:51 PM

Ive read that monarchy was the least “bloody” system of government.
Hard to see how it could be worse than what we have.

      Mar 22, 2015 22:26 PM

They are laying to rest K.Richard III this Thursday bb. in Leicester. Two princes killed in the Tower with or without his connivance. Yet tame by comparison to our leaders today!

      Mar 22, 2015 22:26 PM

Scooter boy, Birdie is calling you!

    Mar 22, 2015 22:56 PM

    over Hil & Jeb

      Mar 22, 2015 22:01 PM

I didn’t listen to the show either. Bunch of crap politics. Who gives a shit.

        Mar 22, 2015 22:41 PM

In affect politics is the same S### different day…No real change EVER..And if votes don’t count and you believe its a rigged game then yes a waist of time…indeed…

        Mar 22, 2015 22:18 PM

        Bird….does chocolate mountain ring a bell ?……..

    Mar 22, 2015 22:21 PM

Just got to listen to the weekend show now.

Al, I mentioned the GDP Now indicator back on the comments to Gary’s talk on March 13:

    On March 13, 2015 at 11:57 am,
    Derek says:

Here is a link about the GDP Now indicator, put out by the Atlanta Fed branch. This is to me a new indicator. Wow, currently predicting Q1 GDP growth of only 0.6%.

    On March 13, 2015 at 12:00 pm,
    Derek says:

Sorry, using a small tablet with this small editor. Link

    *****************************

Also, IMO the indicator does not have a very good record of being very accurate. But who am I to say what is accurate or not. At any rate, even if it is off 1 to 1.5 %, it does seem that the economy is slowing, yet again! I still think what matters for investing is what does the market think the Fed will do. A person can be sure the Fed will never raise rates, but lose a lot of money in the meantime if the market is acting as if raise is coming. Certainly, the US Fed is the only major central bank that has even a glimmer of hope of raising rates, even if it is just a token and is not maintained.

    Mar 22, 2015 22:53 PM

    Bill,

There are 2 things that will change the game.
    1. Repeal the act of 1871.
    2. Demand paper ballot on federal elections.

The fiasco with Bush and Gore was staged so they could have electronic voting.
It’s note who votes ” it’s who counts the votes!
Or, we could butch and complain endlessly on the rat wheel talking about Jeb and Hildabeast.

      Mar 22, 2015 22:17 PM

Changing the game still won’t solve anything since the masses will only vote for what’s right AFTER they have tried everything else.

So, I don’t think it’s possible or desirable for good guys (like Ron Paul) to save the people from the threat of a crisis that they don’t believe exists. Ignorance is an enemy that must be allowed to fail spectacularly on its own.

“Democracy is the theory that the common people know what they want, and deserve to get it good and hard.” — H. L. Mencken

    Mar 22, 2015 22:49 PM

    Wow, I totally agree,Matthew.
If people would learn and know the act of 1871? It would be a complete paradigm shift for Americans. We actually would have a shot at saving the ship!
But hey, , ignorance is bliss..

      Mar 22, 2015 22:32 PM

I can’t agree that the ship is savable. You know it’s too late when the masses, left and right, have embraced communism and don’t even know it. The Federal Reserve satisfies the the 5th plank of the communist manifesto, for example. You also know it’s too late when almost half of the population is ok with Obama but not Bush, or vice versa.

As Martin Armstrong said in an interview the other day, most people don’t think. I’ll add that highly intelligent people are no less likely to fool themselves by censoring what they’ll allow themselves to consider objectively. People are ruled by their perceptions (which are formed by media/propaganda and self censorship), not the actions of those they vote for.
In a nutshell, the unthinking masses are hypocritical inconsistent and unprincipled.

      Some things never change.

“Nobody ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American public.”
      —H. L. Mencken

        Mar 22, 2015 22:38 PM

        One more:
“The men the American public admire most extravagantly are the most daring liars; the men they detest most violently are those who try to tell them the truth.”
        — H. L. Mencken

    Mar 22, 2015 22:41 PM

The ship ( America) is absolutely savable!
When the Joe-six packs get drained late this year , early next year?? Lookout! The wave of sheeple turning into We The People Are Pissed!!! Will be the breakthrough. It has to get to that ( unfortunately )

      Mar 22, 2015 22:52 PM

Chartster , thanks for keeping up the hard fight……thanks for posting the ACT OF 1871

      Mar 22, 2015 22:56 PM

That wave of pissed off sheeple will still be clueless and will demand all the wrong things.
A bankrupt junior miner has better odds of being saved.

        Mar 22, 2015 22:02 PM

Well that’s why we talk about it. That’s why you go at risk with sheeple ( friends ) that’s why you don’t give up ! Loosing and quitting is Not an Option!

    Mar 22, 2015 22:51 PM

The next market crash will be the revolutionary change. It can’t be stopped. Not even by Jebnazi or Hilnazi. They will be irrelevant! ( true story )

      Mar 22, 2015 22:58 PM

I believe stocks are in for a new cyclical bear (within the secular bear that started in 2000), but there will not be a crash.

      Mar 22, 2015 22:10 PM

Crashes are hard to come by. They happen when everyone believes they won’t…Many believed we were in for another crash for the past few years…guess what the market soared. There’s no major bubble just a crap load of debt…A Bear maybe….

    Mar 22, 2015 22:13 PM

Pullback but not a crash. The market will rally this summer. In mid august, I’m out.
I do look forward to shorting that puppy tho.

    Mar 22, 2015 22:15 PM

    The crash should be Oct.

      Mar 22, 2015 22:56 PM

Ballsy that’s a long way out. No one can predict that I believe. Conditions are not met till they have been.

I would not be buying offshore oil drillers at this point. A few drillers are headed for Bankruptancy. Lots of offshore rigs are being scrapped and many mothballed….rig rates have been slashed for ones still working.
The drilling market will not recover until around mid 2016.
