I know… but I am lying on my bed with my laptop on my chest and, well, I was too lazy to type the extra word… I don’t know of a non-Orthodox Greek Easter though 🙂
Just one minor point of Information:
re: Greece ‘s claim of reparations from Germany.
Following the Potsdam Conference (1945) there was a Paris Peace Treaty (1947) in which the amounts for reparation were assigned. it is my recollection that Greece at that time claim inadequacy and, indeed, insufficiency because of un-returned annexation of some Greek territory. Dangling and arbitration continued for some time with payments being made in 1957 for land loss, and in1960 Greece accepted final settlement of reparations in the amount of 115 million DMarks. While Greece may continue to claim need for further payment, I do not believe they have a legitimate claim either through the UN or the International Court.

It is interesting that there is no news out of Russia of any Greece grant.
It is my belief that no further advance has been made on the promised EU advance, because of German action; and that Greece is technically unable to meet obligatory payments near end of this month.
Germany has still been insisting on austerity.

In that recent video that Yanis, the Greek Finance Minister, did he said that if you default you do it when no one is expecting it.
He also said that if you telegraph it in advance then you have bank runs… and that you shouldn’t leave it until it is too late as your country will be worth off the longer you wait.
Well, they are having a massive bank run on Euros from Greek banks currently… and it is looking increasingly like they have indeed left it too late.
They are going to default anyhow… so I don’t suppose it makes much difference… perhaps it just gives Greeks time to get their hands on physical Euros before Greek does indeed default.
As someone wrote today, Greece is broke but many Greeks are wealthy.
