I am having a hard time understanding why some posters think that the Nov-Dec 2014 low events were NOT the “TOTAL washout”. I guess surpassing 1370 will convince them?
don’t know about you but the rise from november lows of last year to the 22nd january 2015 does not look impulsive in my eyes.It has all the characteristics of a corrective wave (overlapping).

Doc the money that the miners will spare from low energy costs will not make up to to the coming price of gold.Many miners will get margin calls and many will go belly up especially the juniors.
That is gold bullish since supply is less.

I do have a scenario to run by you.
I do get why you see the price on metals being flat and agree that it looks like that. However, if we were to have a final wash phase in gold that would only last a few weeks, and then metals pop back up to the levels they are now. Wouldn’t the technicals look as they do now?
The reason why I say this is because the financial system is about to get restructured. Bonds and currencies are going asset based. When that happens, the countries have to repatriate gold and other assets. More gold = less value. It will also be a liquidity creating event, which enables the fed to raise rates without crushing the economy.
The new gold hitting the market is a biggie, and it will happen.
Chartster, your scenario of a sudden drop is gold is possible—-the technicals are not currently signalling that—you would need an appreciable breakdown of pricing below the monthly lower BB and the 12 month MA separating from the 26 month MA on the monthly charts. Neither one of these currently has occurred. If that happens, your scenario then occurs.
The 12 month MA separating from the 26 month MA is referencing the MACD.

Agatha, just recently I purchased AUY (not investment advice). I love the chart on AUY for a number of reasons—–one is the fact the weekly bollinger bands have narrowed significantly signalling an impending breakout one way or another. If it breaks to the upside, we’re winners; if it breaks the lower BB I sell with a minimal loss.
more importantly check out the early explorers with high potential v.fmg and check out the action. I suspect the jv partner is starting to buy and raise the price.

Claude just made a new high -as I suspected it might. And I sold a little more… you know, to kill the urge. 🙂
Agreed on both Argonaut and Yamana…both are still at very low levels compared to where they were in the past (before they had even implemented the cost saving improvements they now have). Once he PM pricing improved substantially and we take out 1347 and 1382, confirming a new uptrend in gold they should do very well. However, I still believe PM prices will slide down into May, and there will be better entry points into these stocks. Their recent rallies show their strength though.

Sorry but Rick is dead wrong……..gold will never hit $800 in our near future or beyond……..my charts and my trend lines show gold going up……..this will continue to be a slow move up for awhile followed by an acceleration during the summer months leading into the fall…………..this will happen!
Thanks for the information. Even though there is tiny chance of $800 under manipulation, we should not take it as granted. Just because it may have 0.1% chance to go down to 800, it should not stop us from holding gold. Otherwise we are going to miss the biggest opportunity to protect us against the insanity of central banks.

There is a deal in the works. Look at the deal they struck with BVN previously during poor PM prices. That deal didn’t end up closing because BVN began bleeding cash but at the time there were multiple others lined up with very good offers. I am told.

FRESNILLO hit a new 52 week low – in Sterling – of £6.44 on March 18th which was last Wednesday and the day of the Fed meeting. Since then it has spiked up 10% and actually dropped a bit today.
Frankly, if the metals were going higher I would expect to have seen FRES go much higher already which, hmm, makes me suspicious as to why the London boys are not piling back into this. It is usually a good bell-weather of where the price of silver, and indeed gold, are going.
I’m not short until the indicators turn. Probably Thursday.

Yes, and in some way I can agree with that, but on my screen and with my own algorithm scheme I see more green for gold than I see red………earlier I might have made that call but right now I’m seeing another go for tomorrow……..don’t get me wrong their is a bear day ahead but I think at this point that might not be until Thursday and then on Friday I see a green bull, gold will be up again on Friday!

I’m kinda thinking we get another nothing day tomorrow. Maybe close down a little. I think Thursday night and Friday we start to see things move down. I hope we don’t break 1,223. If that happens, the bear flat bounce around do nothing doldrums continue.

I worry not so much about any imminent move of gold down to $800 but I worry more about a failed cyclical bull market move when the dollar has its next bear market, like the one in 1985-87 with gold not getting to a new high and then another section of gold bear market some years from now as the dollar turns up the next time with new lows in gold and possibly $700-800 at that time. Something like the 1990s bear market phase in gold.
I am starting to doubt this possibility but it has happened before.

CLGRF (Claude in USD) is still looking very strong. Note that the MACD has avoided a sell signal and that it closed the day at/in uptrend resistance. The RSI is again in overbought territory.

Claude’s relentless move higher is characteristic of a bull market —which Claude is clearly in. A move to .60 (U.S.) or higher would not surprise me if gold holds up.

Have you all thought about how this proposed down spike will demoralize and rob the gold and silver mining and exploration industry not to mention investors?

However, if a Rabbi Jewish Christian who are in Israel and here in America
born there with The Word Of God and I know of several who lived The Word

everything out of context now. I’m sorry. I’m making a comment
and prejudging because thats what God wants us to do is discern

Regardless, lets focus on the tragedy the world is faced with regarding
Russia and the NATO aggressors. Remove the biblical part as I kindly

fatal event for mankind. Unfortunately this will end in nuclear war very
soon within months. That’s my opinion and yes I’m judging the crisis and
there is absolutely nothing wrong with it. Its highly dangerous and serious.
Personally it irritates me if I have desires to live a lie. The dangers and risks
are high and thats not a lie. Most unfortunately would rather live a lie. Just like
debt that too is a lie. If the nuclear war thats coming doesn’t destroy us the debt
will. If we insist believing in this make believe world with massive leverage and
almost everyone is in that camp will discover soon it was all a lie.
