Pleased to hear of Rick’s pivot at $1120 and especially that the 800 plus target isn’t in play until two monthly closes below $1120. Gives a guy some time to think things over to say the least.

      May 04, 2015 04:39 PM

      Yep, to say the least!

Rick spoken like a true trader, one day at a time, so many get hung up on targets way off where are today, its one support or resistance level at a time.

Corey its clearly in the bulls camp to take gold out of its bear market trends as the bears have been in control for two years now, weekly chart has $1300 as a key resistance a trend line off $1434 Aug 2013 thru $1392 March 2014 that has held gold back for almost 2 years!

NFP on Fri should send a lot of the charts we all watch into a clearer direction as a bullish NFP will bid the US$ as the feds have made the NFP their fav indicator for a interest rate cycle hike to begin if the data is bullish.

I would have to say that it is pretty much in the bag. Also, pretty much, for all practical purposes already here!

        How depressing!

If it’s already in the bag, then it’s also pretty much in the bag that we’re all slaves. Nearing the end of ‘The Road to Serfdom’.

        Am I wrong?

Not sure what your definition is for a cashless society but there is no chance of a complete cashless society for the foreseeable future. Too many needs to have cash. Garage sales and flee markets, festivals, fast food establishments, laundromats, vending machines, parking meters, etc…. I never seen people use credit or debit cards for these things yet though I am sure in very rare instances there have been a few cases.

Hello JMiller……..YOU might want to go back to Last Monday’s cashless society posted by Doc. and read the articles ,just to get caught up to speed with what we are talking about. Hope this helps. Best……

Frank from moscow (is this you Jerry?),

I am afraid I did not make myself clear. I already know about the cashless society from numerous articles. I spend 2-3 hours a day reading and listening to interviews about such things. I am really asking how can we go to a COMPLETELY cashless society in the foreseeable future (next couple of years) when there is so much need for cash such as for garage sales and flee markets, festivals, fast food establishments, laundromats, vending machines, parking meters, etc…? I was not sure if people who believe in a cashless society meant just for larger transactions or for all transactions no matter how small. If for all transactions, how with so many needs for small denominations or coins?

Louisiana has already passed laws that make purchasing 2nd hand goods with cash illegal. Im thinking they are starting there to work the “kinks” out.
In Calgary we have parking paid for with cards.
Governments don’t care about vending machines, when the new dime wouldn’t work here, they were told to fix their machines.
Fast foods already take debit and credit cards.

It could be done tomorrow, bet they watch what happens in Lousiana with interest.

            bb,

I read about that Louisiana thing but I do not believe it to be accurately report by the fear porn sites, which I find many times they are wrong to some degree.

            http://www.snopes.com/politics/business/cashillegal.asp

The Louisiana thing I think is just more erroneous info from people who border on fear mongering (referring to many alternative media websites).

While Calgary and some other modern cities may have parking paid for with cards, most towns do not. You need coins.

While fast foods places take debit and credit cards, I have yet to see someone at one of those establishments use a credit or debit card. May be on some rare occasion but probably for a very large order .

It would not happen tomorrow because 99% of the people including most politicians would be against it happening that fast. There would need to be a transition. Some people do not have credit or debit cards. Perhaps over the course of a year or so.

I agree. I don’t see it happening over night.
All I was meaning is that it could be done.
I read the Louisiana law concerning cash for used goods, to be honust I don’t understand how it could be expected to work. Much less people accepting it.
The records for transactions the government actually want are beyond reasonable.
I think its a trial run, just as Cyprus was a trial run in steeling depositors funds.

This is the story of the Lusitania, longish, but explains how/who/why.
A lot of interesting info, Woodrow Wilson wasn’t “fooled” into creating the federal reserve, but in fact committed treason, as well as FDR, his act of treason of pearl harbour.
All for banks, just as a cashless society will be.
    Creation of Isreali state etc.
