Welcome!

We focus on Greece and the impact it could have on markets and countries around the world

July 8, 2015

After focusing on China yesterday Chris and I chat about the situation in Greece. With the question of will or won’t they leave the Euro we look at both perspectives and what that could result in for other countries in the Euro… so many questions without any defined direction right now.

According to Paul C. Roberts Victoria Nuland has already explained to Tsipras that he is neither to leave the EU nor cosy up to the Russians, or there will be ‘consequences’, According to PCR, consequences is polite language for the Greek leader’s overthrow if not assassination.

      Jul 08, 2015 08:55 AM

The best thing TSIPRAS could do is step down quickly , and call a JUBILEE

China and Greece are front and center and deservingly so.
One also must keep an eye on the Saudis. Seems that they are starting to get pretty cozy with the Russians.http://www.stockhouse.com/opinion/independent-reports/2015/07/07/is-saudi-arabia-leaving-u-s-behind-for-russia

      r scott :
This doesn’t sound like hate to me.
At the meeting, the Saudis and Russians signed several memoranda of understanding including the development of nuclear power plants in the Kingdom, with the Saudis planning some 16+ plants.

The two sides also plan on setting up working groups to study other possible energy joint ventures in Russia. Russia also agreed to the construction of railways and metro subways for the Saudis. Russia is also believed to have agreed to supply advanced military defense equipment to the Kingdom, despite the Saudis being long time arms customers of both the UK and U.S.
r scott: What next ? Your going to tell me that the 15 Saudi hijackers on 911 loved the U.S to.

      Jul 08, 2015 08:51 PM

What about the recent Saudi-Russia nuclear deal where Russia will be building numerous reactors for Saudi Arabia?

By every traditional measure, silver and gold are deeply oversold and positioned for a steep rally, not a steep decline. That they are, in fact, declining should tell you a lot about the state of the “markets”, the global economy and global liquidity/risk. Perhaps, if we are to continue this endeavor,we need to re-learn and adapt to a whole new paradigm. We keep repeating the mantra “there are no markets, just interventions” and, if that’s the case, maybe all of the old tried-and-true methods are now obsolete.

    Jul 08, 2015 08:12 PM

    A reasonable thought Gator.

As far as gold is concerned, sure there are lots of people that like it, maybe not enough people?

    Jul 08, 2015 08:15 PM

QUESTION ?……………………Was the NYSE shut down today to stop a possible major stock market crash ?

      Jul 08, 2015 08:27 PM

Oh Mark..Dont be so silly the govt. said it was a glitch so a glitch it was, these people dont lie…i reckon it was probably a stray mouse from a local eatery that got into the basement & chewed through a wire from one of the servers….
See nothing iffy going on .

NOTE: When the NYSE markets resumed, notice how they hailed on to around 225 points on the DOW right up until the bell rung for the close and then the DOW suddenly sprang 36 points to close at 261.41. They held those trades back………..PEOPLE, THIS MARKET COLLAPSED TODAY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      Jul 08, 2015 08:47 PM

You are correct Mark…too many sell orders so they shut it down…let investors cool off?
      Look out below….

        Jul 08, 2015 08:57 PM

Why were NYSE orders handled on Archipelago, the Nasdaq and elsewhere?

          Jul 08, 2015 08:10 PM

i have two friends with large sell orders, one in Miami and one in Jax. 10,000 shares each,
and they could not sell them. They were allowed to sell 5 min prior to the bell.
I don’t know which brokeridge firm they use…
