From Chris:

I’m proud to let you know that our particular recommendations here at The National Investor are followed by others, including the venerable Dick Davis Digests. Their mid-year newsletters gave us recognition for my January Growth favorite FireEye (NASD-FEYE) which was the 2nd-best performer of all the picks submitted to them (The DDD compiles commentary and specific recommendations from hundreds of advisories.)

As for my Income Digest pick at the beginning of the year —Preferred Apartment Communities (NYSE-APTS) — it was NUMBER ONE among those selections!

You can read more about all this — together with a recap of the methodology and “madness” of how I make these decisions, which can guide YOU in YOUR OWN stock picking — by visiting my site HERE.

Of course, you need to be a market timer.
I’m almost always 90% invested; mostly long, but sometimes short.

You HAVE to know when a stock is going up or down.

I’m not always right in my timing and I have lost over a million dollars at times by guessing incorrectly, but that also taught me a lesson……protect against losses by using stops.

A million bucks certainly would teach a lesson!

I’ve paid my share of “tuition” too! Those who’ve managed not to are at a great disadvantage in my opinion. I’d rather have such a lesson behind me than lurking in my future.

Yup and Yep. I’ve learned through the school of hard knocks for sure, and still make mistakes every week, but just many less than I used to, and I’ve gotten better at limiting losses and being patient with gains.

    So is the changing world…………

REPURCHASED DISNEY again and my Dr. Pepper Snapple is slowly creeping up, . Intense summer heat caused soda pop sales to shoot up . coke and pepsi stocks are also rising. Sell beverage stocks in Sept.. and beer company stocks in October. This happens almost every summer . Buy quality . I am short a certain silver mine stock at a 4% profit . will close my position [buy to cover] at a 10% profit

Never, ever sell beer stocks or beer for that matter.

        Aug 05, 2015 05:48 AM

Agreed, I’m more of a fan of buying beer and then enjoying the cool beverage with friends.

Disturbing information on the internet (relates to an article of a number of years ago) that Mr. Temple had, at that time, quite heavy NEO-NAZI ties.
I would very much like to know what Mr. Temple’s socio/political leanings are today particularly relating to Neo Nazism an Anti-Semitism. I would also appreciate other readers sharing their feelings.
It is my hope that all of you at KER care about this issue.
    Respectfully,
    Martin Feldman

      Hello Martin,

Cory and I and Doc have all looked at Chris’s background. We would never have a Neo Nazi or Anti Semitic individual on our Show..

Chris will discuss this issue, yet again, with us on a Daily Editorial on Thursday.

Sorry I cannot do it tomorrow as I will be in Canada for an annual meeting of a company of which I am a director.

I too am very sensitive to these issues. Particularly because I loath them and, being the child of first generation Eastern European Immigrants, I can tell you first hand what being laughed at and often times shunned is all about.

        Aug 05, 2015 05:51 AM

Thank you, Al, so much for addressing this issue.
My wife is the child of two survivors.
Honestly, you have touched my heart.
        God bless you and yours.

Mr. T is a pretty decent stock picker!

Agreed. Chris does a good job picking winners from multiple sectors.
