Credit to Al, last Friday he said: “now is probably a good time to accumulate!”
Clive Maund also nailed it by saying it was a very low risk time to buy.
Glad I don’t have the “to chase or not to chase” dilemma right now.

Just wondering what your thoughts on Klondex are? It seems to be sluggish (like today). I was also surprised to discover that the historical high is only $3.00 (about another 20% from here).

I really like the fundamentals of the company (High grades, good AISC, etc), but it does have a P/E > 20. I’m wondering how it will do long-term, not as a trade.

I think it’s a great, solid company that will do very well long term but I think Doc knows it a lot better than I do.

I also think that it’s greatness and relative safety are precisely what will hold it back as the picture gets better for its inferior, riskier peers. Big gains come from leverage and leverage comes with risk. Rising gold and silver prices will have a much greater positive impact on marginal properties/operations right now (as risk comes off, valuations rise) than those that are economic/profitable at much lower metals prices.
KDX has already had a heckuva run this year (+70% right now) while many peers are scraping along near 52 week and even all-time lows. Until the sector as a whole does some catching up to the leaders, the leaders are likely to underperform. On the other hand, if the metals throw us a curve ball and fall apart, the likes of KDX will likely resume their outperformance by simply not falling as much as the rest.

Based on the chart, I wouldn’t worry about it.

          I agree with this insight:

“… it’s greatness and relative safety are precisely what will hold it back as the picture gets better for its inferior, riskier peers.”

Is anyone worried about the 26 cent/2% gap for GDX yesterday?

    Sep 17, 2015 17:28 AM

For the first time ever, one FOMC predicts negative rates in 2015 and 2016 …
Instead of QE4 is the Fed going to shock us with NIRP in the coming months?

      Sep 17, 2015 17:34 AM

Imagine what would happen if they did both…

      Sep 17, 2015 17:53 AM

Janet Yellen herself has advocated that in the past as a possible policy

    Sep 17, 2015 17:36 AM
