I always figure they should be, theyre one of the groups supposedly controlling the price.
Also, one of your favorites, C Fitts, says we don’t know available supply, which Ive been saying for years. lol (not the only person of course)
Been meaning to ask you, do you feel Fitts aliens are more credible than Hudas aliens?

Well, Ive never met one, but I think its weird Fitts and Hudas, both educated intelligent successful responsible and supposedly sane people, think aliens have something to do with the gold market.
Fitts’ take on the aliens…….is the black budget and special financing on “space” ship technology….not, the weird little people.

Frank, Fitts talks about a “closed or open” gold market, meaning interplanetary.
That’s her reasoning for not being able to calculate how much gold is available.

So there you go some bankruptcies, asset sales, and takeovers………
This kind of activity is going to be good for the whole sector. Some of the zombies need to die. Some of the companies need to merge for the synergies in cost, management, or to move projects forward that can’t get financing. Lastly, we are still going to see more asset sales as companies prune their pipeline of projects, and other development companies cherry pick projects that make more sense for them to hold. We should come out of the next 12-18 months with the strong survivors that have cut costs, trimmed the fat, consolidated projects, and can actually move into the next bull market with much better economics and upside.
Hey Brian – hope all is well man. Yes I figured you’d be jazzed about that. I’m a little sad because I just had a hunch St. Andrews Goldfields would be acquired, but didn’t think it would happen until metal prices recovered more.

Understood. Been crazy busy myself lately. I’m very excited about the new combined company, and Kirkland Lake is going to be a solid performer when metal prices recover. They’ve been one of the best performers already in 2015 with the depressed metals environment. Now they’ll be even stronger moving into 2016 & 2017.
I’m just kicking myself for not buying St Andrews Goldfields a few months back when I heard the buzz and thought a Mid-Tier would take them over. I thought there was more time, but “he who hesitates is lost”…..

I guess we are in bancruptcy phase. It will be much faster for base metal producers because of burn rate. We can trip over dead body easily. I am scared. Not holding any of base metal producers.

Big Al, Mr Taylor,I don’t know if you have been in any modern production facility recently, but it is quite clear to me that the U.S. And, indeed, the rest of the world will NEVERTHELESS see full fultime employment again. With the advances in robotics and computer technology, human labor is becoming less and less cost effective.
Service jobs may be less affected, but even those are vulnerable to elimination to some extent. We are living in a different world.

I.e. Because of computers and robotics I do not believe we will see full full-time employment in the future.
Because of computers we just go the word Nevertheless instead of Never. Thank goodness there is still a human professor at the helm, to guide the computer.
That is the shift in jobs from manufacturing to Information Technology, programming, and robot repair. From high touch to high tech. Then in 50 years the people continue putting robotic parts inside themselves, (Darth Vader syndrome) and people become part robot, and eventually morph into an entirely new species and you get people downloading their consciousness into AI and the Trans-humanism movement. At that point, nobody even cares about employment…..and the curtain closes……
Nevertheless, it is good to see you posting again CFS.
Excelsior, robots don’t need humans, I’m surprised you can’t figure out that we have engineered our own demise as a species. We think we are the first to do that but in the vast scheme of multiple universes we aren’t that special. DT
At this point the robots still do need us, because AI has not progressed as fast as some thought it would, but there is of course new innovation every day. However, I would counter that It is when we release AI into the internet or start building intelligent robots that can then build even more intelligent robots that we have created our demise. Also, I believe, (as someone interested in this area and I work with a technology company) that there are a fair number of individuals that will starting merging into the technology, which is one of the topics of Transhumanism.
A couple of good newer movie recommendations along these lines that you would dig if you haven’t seen them:

-Automata
Then of course there are the movies like AI, I Robot, Terminator, The Matrix, Bicentennial Man, Lawnmower Man, etc…. that touch on this area of man and machine.

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump says the Paris terror attacks mean that “we’re going to have to do certain things that were frankly unthinkable a year ago” in the US, including creating databases of Muslims and closely monitoring mosques.
Trump said he is concerned about the large Muslim population in the United States, and that, if he had his way, there would be increased surveillance, including warrantless searches, of American Muslims.

Desperate people do desperate things.
There is a group of people who want to take us to world war and believe they will come out as winner. It is a cult no longer religion.
