      Mark:

Please give it a rest and not be so condenscending. I’m not aware of any knuckleheads on this site but find most to be sophisticated and cerebral. Disagree without being disagreeable……………..

I’m not being condescending! Just telling the truth!

          Nov 21, 2015 21:12 AM

The point is that people on this site are not the slumbering masses, ‘SUCKERS’ that need to ‘WAKE UP’. They are people who study and have formed their own informed opinions.

Your target audience would be better reached with a megaphone standing on a busy street corner.

            Nov 21, 2015 21:44 AM

I’m not on here to hurt anyone on this site! I clearly said knuckleheads out there not on here……………all I did was express my opinion in an honest fashion, is that not allowed? Oh or maybe this is a private club, one track minded and no freedom of speech!

            Nov 21, 2015 21:23 AM

Thanks much for your description of our family GH

as my friends down South are fond of saying, bless your heart

            Nov 21, 2015 21:50 AM

There always seems to be a SHOUTING gloomer on here.
The one that leaves always seems to be replaced with another.
I wonder why this site attracts them more than others?

Mark, what do you expect anyone on here to actually do about your “warnings”?

If people refuse to listen to Jesus, what makes you think they would listen to you Mark?
I mean he is a god and all. Or “the” god if you prefer.
Its been over 2 thousand years and very few people have bothered.
What makes you believe that your capitalized type on this site could ever change anything?

Just wondering about the thought process of shouters.

Didn’t mean to hurt your feelings, Mark. I just wanted to maybe give you another perspective on how your comment came across. I do agree with plenty of your conclusions in your comments in general.

Justin Trudeau has announced that Canada will take 25,000 Syrian refugees before the end of the year; this year! 3,000 will be processed thru’ Vancouver.

        Nov 21, 2015 21:46 AM

        Well heaven help Canada!

          Nov 21, 2015 21:52 AM

And it’s said because they are dealing with a recession right now!

          Nov 21, 2015 21:32 AM

I signed three petitions to stop this. A lot of people have signed but his hot head functions like a teenager. It is frustrating. Also our provincial Premier and mayor immediately welcome refugees. Our city is taking in 3000 before Christmas. Something wrong with people in Canada and alberta. Why do we vote in these people? I did not vote for any current ones in power. They do nothing but bring trouble to us. I am not against helping people but I do not want to help terrorists. Canada is totally ill prepared for any attacks. People are very nice and friendly. Law prevents people from carry concealed weapon. There will be huge number of dead if it happens. Only thing I can count on is terrorists will use Canada as stepping stone and actually attack US so we might be OK. Sorry.

            Nov 21, 2015 21:02 AM

The cost of bringing these people here is staggering.
We are tapped out here. We are talking $100s of millions.
As for me Im sick of this socialists country.
My wife works at the bank part time and sees so many dead beats with free gov cheques in their hands she is SICK of it too.

            Nov 21, 2015 21:30 AM

It will be very interesting to see how this plays out, Dragonite

            Nov 21, 2015 21:20 AM

            We may afford it though.

            Nov 21, 2015 21:21 AM

I don’t mean money but how about being killed or living in fear.

            Nov 21, 2015 21:25 AM

They should have just set up refugee camps in the middle east and supply food and medicine as well as open schools. That would be less costly for the western countries and there would be less risk of taking in terrorists.

Wow, I guess people really are only interested in their 30 pcs of silver.
That “Judas” part of the story is told in many “god” stories thruout the ages.
Its one of the common denominators actually.
But the meaning of it is self evident, peoples priority is their “silver”. (the story is whats important)
To heck with the “you are your brothers keeper” or the people are the caretakers of the earth stories. lol

I am NOT christian, but YOU guys claim to be……the more I know people the more I like my dog. lol

This country is built on immigration, even the aboriginals immigrated, each new group suffers persecution, no matter if they be catholic,Irish,Chinese,Polish Ukrainian etc etc
Persecution of newcomers seems to be “our way”.

Your petitions would be wiser if you suggested in them to bring women and children, no man would be upset to see his family move to a safe place. How about a requirement they speak english or french, do not have aids etc?

Once the “Russians,Iranians and Syrians drive out isis from Syria, we could send them back if they wanted to go.
I bet most would want to go home.

            Nov 21, 2015 21:45 AM

BB, your are quite an idealist. Like my friends daughter who claimed their parents cold blooded. She is willing to sacrifice her life for the refugees. I am not Christian, not white. I am immigrant myself. This is not about immigration at all. I am all for immigration as long as we attract hard-working people who are peaceful. We cannot deal with terrorists in this country. ISIS already declared they mixed terrorists inside refugees.

Your paranoid dragon, we lose more from peanut allergies or bathtub accidents etc than terrorists.
Don’t believe the propaganda, if you do you will end up living your life in fear.
The U.S. government is lieing to you 24/7, its relentless, to the point they try to control your mind.
It is they that created this organisation, it is they that pay the mercenaries they employ.
It is they that kill children all over the earth including their own, don’t fall for their evil or propaganda.

Go, meet a Syrian dragon, help him/her as best you can, discover the truth.
And thank the gods we replaced Harper with Justin.
If we are going to die, lets die as men and not demons.
            Hows that for idealism? lol

            Nov 21, 2015 21:03 PM

Aside from weed, Justin and Harper are two of kind. Most people never learn.

Mathew, are you smoking the weed?
They are Horus and Set, night and day, economically, environmentally and morally.

Just one simple act, withdraw the f 18s, tells the world Canadians no longer approve of bombing hospitals, schools and children, Harpers head was up to his shoulders in Obamas butt and he bowed low to the banks.
Justin dealing with the banks will be his main challenge. imo

            Nov 21, 2015 21:28 PM

Get it right bb. I am not interested in dying either as man or demon. No doubt the West caused them a lot of grief and they are entitled to fight whatever the way they want including terrorism. But as a country, we should protect our citizen. So I am not blaming any one, I just want our elected official to protect the country. I don’t want one leader who bombards them and the other brings them in to kill us. I don’t mean the majority of people who suffered but a small minority who are jihadists.

            Nov 21, 2015 21:32 PM

I have no false hope to Trudeau junior. He might be same as his father who embraces communism. You may not know that Pierre Trudeau is close friend of Mao. And Justin also said he country he likes the most is china.

            bb
            Nov 21, 2015 21:20 PM

Trudeau embraced commyness? I cant even see how a person could think that.
In any case, do you recall Trudeau meeting the Beatles? They left the meeting saying that if world leaders were like Trudeau we would have world peace in a week.

Even if communism was the price of world peace it would be worth it.

I think precautions need to be taken too. Last night on the news, those precautions were discussed AND the fact they are not widely known by our population.
It was actually suggested the government should take ads out to inform the people.
Everything that can be done is being done, other than taking only women and children as far as I can see anyway.

          Nov 21, 2015 21:35 AM

Steel workers or rather ex-steel workers converging on our one-time steel capital of Sheffield this weekend, deploring our government caving in to China steel being dumped here. My guess is that the US is involved in ‘defending the zero bound’ and that allows foreign central banks to leverage their QE against US treasury bills with a positive rate and purchase long-dated Euro-denominated bonds. This has been not unlike an inverted yield curve, where it has now reverted to steepening.

The PBOC is the notable exception, who are divesting out of treasuries and into gold. Probably the supply comes out of ETFs.

What does that tell you?
It tells you he was ironically and metaphorically SPOT ON.

He’s making it up as he goes along in a short term revisionist manner while trumpeting to anyone who’ll still listen that he’s been right all along. Is that really the case?

The dollar is going to get stronger, silver is still in a coma and interest rates will go up. Anyone who thought that China, Russia or the entire BRICS banking structure were going to undermine and destroy the USD or US (and subsequently launch gold/silver into the stratosphere!) will be waiting a long, long time for that to happen.
The death of the USD as hoped and prophesized by so many was and still is a fairy tale continuing to being told and sold online.

Sinclair, Maguire, KWN, Turd etc we’re completely wrong.
      Armstrong was almost completely right.
It’s a fact. Look up all the old posts by those mentioned and you’ll see who said what and when they did so and the only unbiased conclusion you can reach was that Armstrong had/has it right until this very day.

The COT is meaningless. It’s always been all about the USD and interest rates. There’s a reason why most countries are $hitting BRICS about higher rates.
And there’s a reason why those who prophesized the death of the USD and the Fed being trapped can do nothing else but mock those with alternative reality based thoughts when faced with how wrong they’ve truly been at the great expense of others.

        Nov 23, 2015 23:34 AM

lIKE you said…..about ARMSTRONG…. “was almost…..right”….. but, not completely correct ,like so many want to imply.

          Nov 23, 2015 23:35 AM

COT, is meaningless, when the corruption in the system prevails.

            Nov 23, 2015 23:10 AM

“mock alternative reality”…………truly a quote for thought.
The data base which you draw, is limited to a short time in history. Drawing a conclusion on limited resources may limit your awareness of future events.

I lived many years in Colombia. And I was married to a Colombiana. Where are you?
I agree with you. That chart looks like a train wreck. It seems that EM’s move with greater speed to the up and downside. If the Fed hikes like the say….watch out.

I’m in Bolivia. I love Colombia. Sometimes I think I ought to move there. But I love hiking and camping, and that’s a bit dicey there, or was at any rate when I was choosing where to settle.

Fed To Hold An “Expedited, Closed” Meeting On Monday
Tyler Durden’s pictureSubmitted by Tyler Durden on 11/20/2015 23:00 -0500

    inShare

Given how awesome everything appears to be, judging by stocks and the tidal wave of FedSpeak of the last week confirming that rates are rising in December, we found it at least marginally ‘odd’ that out of the blue, The Fed would announce an ‘expedited, closed’ meeting on Monday…

As we are sure to be told: “it’s probably nothing!”

      Nov 21, 2015 21:14 AM

Agatha, The Fed’s discount window will be wide open at that meeting so that the banks can borrow more money for the purpose of stock market speculation or to maintain their already speculative loans if there is a run on the banks. Watch how they enter the building, it will probably be through an underground tunnel to avoid publicity. DT

        Nov 21, 2015 21:57 AM

If discount rates aren’t enough they can open another window alongside it for rediscounted discount rates. If they were to tell the reserve banks only to borrow for legitimate purposes there would be an increase in call money rates. DT

      Nov 21, 2015 21:45 AM

      Will be interesting Agatha.

You mean the date we recorded it?

    Nov 21, 2015 21:41 AM

Paper gold on Comex in relation to deliverable gold in actual ounces is at least 207:1. Some estimates put it as high as 300. ‘When the music stops’ as Craig Hemke puts it’ll be like some 2-300 demented party goes circling a solitary chair during musical chairs. OMG!

      Nov 21, 2015 21:53 AM

Agatha, this silver gold stuff is finite, eventually you will hear it all.
        Then it gets repeated.
But, slowly, hopefully, lots of people will hear it.

If someone could just figure a way to get people to care. lol
Its pretty niche stuff in comparison to so many things.

“Just once I’d like to read a negative critique of “Austrian” economics from someone who actually understands it, but up until now every piece of criticism I’ve come across has contained basic misunderstandings of what this school of economics is about. The latest example is a 6th November blog post by Martin Armstrong.”

OPEC may think it is in the driver’s seat but they are sitting in a driverless car, one of their own making. The price of oil which was artificially maintained by them led to overproduction which became the more dangerous the longer it remained in place. The oil stocks and The US dollar were accumulated at a rate out of all proportion to consumption, the stocks and the price of oil have fallen drastically The US dollar is holding on but will soon follow a similar downward trend. A tidal wave of Uncle Sam’s phony baloney dollar is about to be repatriated back to it’s homeland, the shores of America. DT

      Nov 21, 2015 21:45 PM

Oil cartels like wheat pools, sugar pools, and cotton pools, always lead to higher prices then more production from other sources and finally collapse. Artificial markets only work for the short term but inevitably the crash happens. The banks who funded them and the currencies that supported them will face a similar fate. That is history! DT

Gold is getting ready to go much higher versus industrial metals:

      CFS
      Nov 21, 2015 21:51 PM

I don’t know,Matthew, looking at your chart, the upper bound seems to me to drop too sharply. A line could be drawn which the current value has not yet exceeded. (By moving it up to the first time it was broken)

        Nov 21, 2015 21:44 PM

CFS, I did include a light grey alternate line but it can be hard to see. It might represent what you had in mind.

Of course it could turn down right here but I think the odds favor gold at least in the short term.

        http://schrts.co/nhThSN

      Nov 21, 2015 21:00 PM

Matthew, silver these days is primarily an industrial metal, so if you are right and I’m not doubting you, silver should lag at this time. Like it or not there will be an effort by some governments to put themselves on a gold basis and with all the gold bullion that has flowed to China and The East maybe they are starting to wake up. DT

        Nov 21, 2015 21:35 PM

DT, I agree that silver could continue to underperform gold for a bit longer but it should also outperform the pure industrial metals as it has since the 2008 lows (silver is up 123% versus GYX since then while platinum is up 27%).

        http://schrts.co/9GDBzk

Due to silver’s huge above ground supply (about 20 years of current production), Adam Hamilton (ZEAL,LLC) is right about investment demand, not industrial demand, being silver’s key price driver. It remains “poor man’s” gold not rich man’s copper.

          Nov 22, 2015 22:56 AM

If the metals stay where they are and interest rates decline, then gold prices aught to rally. But that implies a drop in the dollar vs the Euro, Yen, etc.

    Some thoughts on multiculturalism.

Shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted iappears to be an inevitable consequence of democracy and political thinking (or lack of it). François Hollande’s reaction to that atrocity has consisted of trying, and it appears failing, to convince a sceptical public that he is acting to protect them. It is a pity, therefore, that the numerous numerous raids of last week hadn’t happened before the massacre, when they might even have prevented it. France KNEW it had an enemy within and for reasons that may or may not emerge after an inquiry, it chose not to take adequate steps to stop them launching their war.
We should examine the true idea ofmulticulturalism, and all that entails: It is an idea that the cultures and values of new, minority communities are the equivalent of the majority ones.
It means the majority culture may not expect those from minority cultures to abide by majority ways. It carries with it an expectation to tolerate attitudes that the majority reject, such as towards women and those professing other faiths. And it abjures interference in those minority cultures, for fears of accusations of racism. This last concept has paralysed sensible response to multiculturalism for decades, and continues to stop any senior politician giving any sane and sensible leadership today. Instead, we are told all cultures are equal or equivalent when we KNOW in our hearts that they are not.
The primary American culture has evolved over centuries, or, indeed, basing itself on the English Judeo-Christian culture and evolving and improving therefrom it could be said to have been evolving for millennia. The American culture has not always been
perfect, but it should not be permitted to take a retrograde step, such as in areas of Michigan and Texas, where cities are adopting Sharia. To tolerate Sharia and its sexist intolerance towards women’s rights is in my mind simply a step unacceptably too far. It may not be politically correct to state it, but the American way is better than the Muslim way. Not only that, but the Way of Sharia fails to pass a test of constitutionality in many aspects.

Thanks for posting Mike Maloney video.
I disagree thar household debt is cyclical, but do agree that we will have deflation followed by inflation.
He says deflation presents opportunity, but I’m darned if I know how to take advantage of it.

I believe that it was. Recorded two days earlier on Thursday.

This downturn of the asset classes and indices is nothing more than the end of a large financial cycle from one mechanism to another. All we are witnessing is the washout before the next economic boom. The downturn should be embraced as a buying opportunity of a lifetime. As, every asset class is at or close to the end of it’s washout stage.

      Nov 22, 2015 22:03 PM

Chartster, you have obviously been talking with Doc

    Nov 22, 2015 22:52 AM

Not every asset class. The US stock market hasn’t started it’s washout phase, yet.
I guess it will be the last to go.

The attack on PM is fierce. Gold has returned to near its 2008 high and silver is 33% below its 2008 high. In between, we have 7 years ZIRP and three QEs of more than 3.5 $trillion. Major countries in the world are also inflating their monetary supply. This is madness. How long can this counter intuitive move continue? Something must be very wrong to make someone so serious about precious metals. Even this price will kill PM miners, no one cares. Market will punish them by talking their metal away or make metal unavailable. I am sure there will be a super spike of PM price after this period. PM is physical someone has to supply it.

Gold is back under pressure in overnight trading Sun/Monday @ $1069.80 presently. It will be interesting to see if makes it back down to test the recent low at $1065 from Nov. 17th, 2015. If it moves back up from here and gets back above the $1076 area, then we’ll see a rally, but if $1065 gets taken out, then $1044 is next support.
