      Nov 24, 2015 24:07 PM

I think that is an older interview.

          Nov 24, 2015 24:35 PM

I think you are correct……it is an older tape……….

          Nov 24, 2015 24:48 PM

The interview that, to the best of my knowledge, is up on the site. I just listened to it again. I should not say “to the best of my knowledge” as my knowledge may not be very goodl

      Nov 24, 2015 24:45 PM

Wierd, as I just listened to the segment on my computer.

    Nov 24, 2015 24:07 PM

    Platinum……….five yr low………….841………

      Nov 24, 2015 24:16 PM

Yes Platinum and Palladium have barely received any attention in the media or with investors lately (barring the blip from VW scandal), but their moves have been much more dramatic than Gold or Silver lately and most of the year. I’m actually getting really excited to see if they bottom by early 2016 as it is starting to look more and more contrarian to invest in the PGMs. I’m not sure the bleeding is over though, so I’m in observation mode. I got trapped in a position in Platinum Group Metals though and am riding out the storm….

      – Also, there is a huge discount to Platinum’s price over Gold and that is really highlighting the weakness in industry, PMI numbers, and growth. It is uncommon to Platinum down so much under Gold.

          Nov 24, 2015 24:25 PM

also, I agree with you on your statement of …uncommon for platinum down so much under gold.

            Nov 24, 2015 24:28 PM

platinum….did hit 835……if it gets into 700’s ..I am buying.

            Nov 24, 2015 24:29 PM

            graded coins only……….

            Nov 24, 2015 24:18 PM

Yes, I was thinking of platinum coins as well for a long term hold.

I’m just a fan of trading the miners, but they are even riskier than the gold & silver with all the labor disputes, pricing collapse lately, and deeper and deeper mines. It is going to be interesting to see how Sibayne Gold moves out of this cycle due to the huge mines they bought a few months ago. I believe they’ll be the #3 producer of platinum in South Africa next year.

For people that want to trade Platinum spot price the (PPLT) is a good ETF, and for Palladium the ETF is (PALL). Those two track the underlying prices fairly well.

            Nov 24, 2015 24:54 PM

Here was an interesting video piece I watched earlier in the year on the wildlife in Australia:

Everything in Australia Wants to Kill You
Paula Froelich – Editor in Chief – August 6, 2015

            https://www.yahoo.com/travel/everything-in-australia-wants-to-kill-you-photo-by-126005221362.html

            Nov 24, 2015 24:45 PM

Just watched it. Pretty interesting. Fighting off a 5000 pound shark?

            Nov 24, 2015 24:16 PM

Yeah, I really would like to visit Australia, but every time I bring it up, people say, “well watch out for the wildlife there…..so many dangerous critters….”

So earlier in the year the title of that just grabbed my attention:
“Everything in Australia wants to kill you”

Yes, I’m not sure about getting in the ocean in Australia with the box jellyfish, saltwater crocs, and 5,000 lb great white sharks patrolling the coasts.

Now, mining in Australia…… I do like.

            Nov 24, 2015 24:21 PM

Speaking of mining in Australia, it would be nice to hear from Michael Belkin sometime soon. He usually has a good list of of US, Canadian, and (the often forgotten) Australian mining companies. He’s a sharp guy.

            Nov 24, 2015 24:34 PM

            Excelsior,
The wildlife in Australia trying to kill you stories are often overblown.
All it takes is a bit of common sense & you’d be fine.
In all the years I’ve lived here the worst I’ve had happen is a couple of nasty spider bites (both times my fault fir keaving boots outside & not checking the insides before slipping them on)
            Cheers.

            Nov 24, 2015 24:33 PM

            EXCELSIOR,

If you like Australian mining companies, you might want to take a look at Newmarket Gold Inc. (http://www.newmarketgoldinc.com/). They took over the 200,000 oz. p/y Crocodile Gold and have AISC of US$984. Some of their heavy weights include Randall Oliphant & Lukas Lundin on the BOD and Ian Telfer as an advisor. See latest company presentation here (http://www.newmarketgoldinc.com/assets/docs/presentations/presentation-nov2015.pdf). Newmarkets goal is to become a 400-500 oz. p/y gold producer. Some of these gentlemen also worked on the deals merging & creating New Gold several years ago.

            All The Best,

            JIM

            Nov 24, 2015 24:36 PM

The yearly output goal for Newmarket Gold should obviously read 400-500,000 oz. p/y gold producer, not 400-500 oz. p/y.

            Nov 25, 2015 25:49 AM

Skeeta – That is good to hear. I was just kidding around a little, because I agree that when going to any new environment, you should be aware of the wildlife and use common sense.

I live in TN where we have black widows, brown recluse, small scorpions, rattle snakes, copperhead snakes, coyotes, bobcats, etc….. so I’m used to keeping an eye out for critters.

For some reason when Frank from Moscow posted about the interruption at the Perth mint, all I could imagine in my mind was a wombat infestation. Then it triggered that piece on Australia wildlife and I thought I’d post it. In reality, if I could leave right now and head to Australia for 2 weeks, I would jump at the opportunity.

            Cheers!

      Nov 24, 2015 24:50 PM

I just went to the site and saw nothing about any closure.

    Nov 24, 2015 24:46 PM

    MARKET WRAP………………LOUSY DAY………THE END.

    Nov 24, 2015 24:08 PM

    THANKSGIVING…..

      Nov 24, 2015 24:51 PM

      Funny!

    Nov 24, 2015 24:11 PM

    Big Al, where are you?
After a quiet interview with Jay, I’m surprised you had nothing to say. Having said that, or for a lack of better terms, having nothing is say is certainly turning hard times into harder times.

      Nov 24, 2015 24:15 PM

      for lack of better terms……….Nice.

      Nov 24, 2015 24:51 PM

      Did not get the chance!

    Nov 24, 2015 24:20 PM

    Link does not work?

      Nov 24, 2015 24:30 PM

Correct – no audio……so the only links that work are in the blog discussion.

Throw up a link and we’ll look at it FranSix. We just voted for you earlier in the week to be a guest on the show, because you have an interesting way of dissecting the markets, and continually post great technical analysis.

      Keep on keepin’ on.

      Nov 24, 2015 24:52 PM

I just listened to it on my computer for the second time.

        Nov 24, 2015 24:58 PM

Yes, it just started working. Good work sir!

We appreciate all that you do, and Jay Taylor is a class act and always good to listen to.

          Nov 24, 2015 24:39 PM

I am getting batty. But I swear I could not have done the editing that I did had I not been able to listen to it. Go figure!

            Nov 24, 2015 24:45 PM

Well it is working well now. I had tried to listen to it several times and it wasn’t working, and it seems others had the same challenges. Maybe when you went back to listen to it, the audio was linked or the edits got finalized. Who knows?

    Nov 24, 2015 24:12 PM

    Al,
Just listened to the show. You are always on it! KER is not a bad place to be with the company you hold, Al. Your guests are top notch! Doc, Gary, Rick and Chris are always really good ( even though I agree with the Doc, the most ) and have excellent insight.

Since I’ve been a listener, Cory has become a great questioner! He has grown quite a bit in the last year! All in all, your daily show is the best, Hands Down!

Not everyone agrees, but that’s what makes it GR8!
Thanks for doing what you do! All of you!!

I heard Putin was meeting Jordan president in Sochi when su24 was shot down. Why is Jordan president visiting Russia at this moment? What if Jordan allows Russian and Syria army to pass through. Look at the map, it spells the end of Saudi.

      Nov 25, 2015 25:01 AM

May be wishful think I really want to see Saudi king removed.

      Nov 25, 2015 25:14 AM

Good news for Saudi. Sixth Saudi ship is destroyed by Yemen force. Broken window fallacy.

      Nov 25, 2015 25:20 AM

Turkey has been buying ISIS oil and shipped it to Japan and Israel. The son of Turkish President is the person in charge. What sanction should US put on turkey?

        Nov 25, 2015 25:28 AM

I say, take off the turkey’s wing, drumstick them in the ground, gobble them senseless.

      Nov 25, 2015 25:35 AM

The movement of the stock, gold and oil is really making a sick joke on people’s Intelligence. for the last 24 hours. If there is one bit of free market, it should react with some common sense. This should be a black swan event which could be disastrous in a oil producing region. You cannot say the market has priced in the event. People saying that there is no manipulation should reconsider.

    Nov 25, 2015 25:53 PM

Silvercrest just got gobbled up by first majestic now the exact same guys R starting another company called SILVERCREST METALS!!! .18 cents a share on TSX hey mining about the people places and projects!!! People come first like Al says check them out I am going to!! Not investment advice…..but a no brainer??? Great chance it is!!!
