Comments on US equities, oil and gold

November 30, 2015

Gary Savage kicks off today with a recap on his thoughts on the US markets. He provides us with a longer term view into later next year when he thinks we could see some market movements. We then move into the oil markets and gold. With job numbers coming out at the end of the week and the Feb meeting in 2 weeks traders are not making any major moves.

With the LBMA out of gold and the COMEX all most out, this question will be in our near future as discussed in this very, very good and recent interview with David Jensen!

    OFF TOPIC…Over at Zerohedge page3.
Iran’s Ayatollah pens letter to western youth.
Love him or hate him , his letter is worth reading…IMO.

      Nov 30, 2015 30:09 AM

I totally agree…it tells the truth for a great change…

It is worth reading; a great piece of subtly written propaganda, if you choose to ignore some facts.
Iran is also a state-sponsor of terrorism; the Ayatollah’s hands are not clean.
He uses this opportunity to condemn Israel, which he would like to see disappear.

Where should Jews be allowed to live in peace?

          Nov 30, 2015 30:53 AM

CFS, have you read about The Transfer Agreement, 1933 Germany?

Jews could have easily lived in peace in Palistine, a little research will explain why there is no peace there.

Your mentioning Iran sponsering terrorism, are you aware of who created, trained and funds isis?
Who murdered 500k children in Iraq, and on and on, maybe terrorism is perspective?
(actually, 30 million dead since 1945 is kinda terror like)(maybe just my perspective)

One other thing you seem to be misinformed on, Iran disapproves of Zionism, not Israel,
there is a difference, it is the Zionists that work to keep you unaware of that.

Bb, I just disagree with your conclusions.
I don’ think actions pre-WWII made by now-dead people are as relevant as you claim.

Just a few anti-Israel and anti-Zionist statements that came out of Iran while Kerry and the Big Zero were negotiating with Iran to give them nuclear capability:

            NOVEMBER 19, 2013

“[The] Israeli regime, this sinister, unclean rabid dog of the region, says Iran is a threat to the world; No! Israel itself is a threat to the world.”

(Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Supreme Leader of Iran, during a speech to the paralmilitary Basij group)

            AUGUST 2, 2013

“For the last 400 years, [Zionists] have created slavery, destroyed millions of people, destroyed many families, killed [all human] emotions, and implemented a long period of colonization and enslavement…[The Zionists] have always been after domination in this region [Palestine] for the last 1,000 years, because this region is the gateway to the world… The hope of establishing a Zionist regime was a hope of many years. They had historically planned this, they invaded the Palestinians an occupied their lands…Today all of the political leaders are Zionists. Nobody should be mistaken when we say ‘Zionist’ that we mean ‘Jews’, which there are extremist ones too. [The Zionists] are in the interest of filthy arrogance and all of the central economies of the world and all of the banks are held in their hands…Our second question was, assuming that this incident occurred [Holocaust]in a certain place and by certain people, why does it concern Palestine?…They [Zionists] look happy, but they don’t have a change to survive. They will not be happy for long… They have no place in this region.”

(Outgoing Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, during his final public address as President)

            JULY 6, 2013

“We also brought the discussion of the Holocaust from a human standpoint, and we said that we should try to understand what happened and why must the Palestinians pay the price…The question of the Holocaust shattered the spine of Capitalism, for it was the only sacred element of that system…For the Capitalists, God, the Prophet and religion have no sacred value, and the only axis they all are related to is their fanaticism/intolerance that no one can enter the [discussion] of the Holocaust, which we have mobilized on and spoken about.”

(Outgoing Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, during a conference commemerating “Eight Years of Jihad and Celebration of the President and Government Servants”)

            JUNE 4, 2013

“In America and capitalistic countries, if you are not the candidate of the two or three political parties, or if the wealthy or powerful or Zionist networks don’t support you, under no conditions do you have the ability to advertise.”

(Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Supreme Leader of Iran, during a speech marking the 24th anniversary of the death of the founder of the Islamic Republic, Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini)

            MAY 24, 2013

“[The goal of Iran and its allies is to] uproot capitalism, Zionism and Communism, and promote the discourse of pure Islam in the world.”

(Saeed Jalili, Iranian chief nuclear negotiator and leading presidential candidate, during a campaign event in Tehran)

            APRIL 30, 2013

“I believe time for hegemonic powers, plundering, crime and Zionism are over… [Zionists are] history’s most uncivilized butchers, who easily humiliate, incarcerate and kill the Palestinian people.”

(Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, during the closing ceremony of the World Conference of Ulama and Islamic Awakening)

            APRIL 29, 2013

“The fourth point is that today one of the most dangerous things that threatens the movement of Islamic Awakening is the efforts to foment discord and turn these movements into bloody sectarian, ethnic and national conflicts. Currently, this plot is being seriously pursued by intelligence services of the West and Zionism with the help of petrodollars and bribed politicians from East Asia to North Africa and particularly in the Arab region…Propaganda campaigns of the West and dependent and mercenary media in the region pretend that the destructive war in Syria is a Shia-Sunni conflict and they create a safety margin for the Zionists and the enemies of resistance in Syria and Lebanon. This is while the two sides of the conflict in Syria are not Shia and Sunni, rather they are the supporters and opponents of anti-Zionist resistance.

The fifth point is that one of the standards for judging whether Islamic Awakening movements are on the right path is the positions they adopt on the issue of Palestine. Since sixty years ago up until today, the occupation of Palestine has been the biggest tragedy that has been imposed on the Islamic Ummah.Since the first day up until today, the tragedy of Palestine has been a combination of killings, assassinations, destruction, usurpation and transgression against what is held sacred in Islam. The necessity of putting up a resistance against this warring and usurping enemy and fighting him has been agreed upon by all Islamic denominations and all honest and healthy national currents. Any current in Islamic countries which disregards this religious and national responsibility out of consideration for the domineering demands of America or under the pretext of unreasonable justifications should not expect to be viewed as loyal to Islam and sincere in its nationalistic claims. This is a test. Anybody who does not accept the slogan of liberating Holy Quds and saving the Palestinian nation and Palestinian territories or anybody who sidelines this slogan and turns his back on the camp of resistance, will be condemned. The Islamic Ummah should keep this clear and fundamental standard in mind everywhere and at all times.”

(Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Supreme Leader of Iran, during the opening ceremony of the World Conference of Ulama and Islamic Awakening)

            APRIL 22, 2013

“The Zionist regime, this cancerous gland, which with much hue and cry had claimed that it had set up an iron dome over the entire occupied Palestine, was faced with the reality within only eight days that none of its formerly woven ropes had remained intact, and that the Fajr 5 Missiles of Hamas which had targeted the heart of the occupied lands had marked another sign of the accelerating downfall and full annihilation of that regime.”

(Brigadier General Ahmad-Reza Purdastan, Iran’s Joint Chief of Staff, during a meeting in Tehran with a group of allied military attaches)

            MARCH 21, 2013

“If they [the Zionists] were to make the mistake of attacking Iran, the Islamic Republic of Iran will raze Tel Aviv and Haifa to the ground.”

(Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Supreme Leader of Iran, during a televised speech marking the Iranian New Year)

            FEBRUARY 12, 2013

“We [Iran] explicitly support Hamas and Hezbollah and the oppressed and Muslim people of Palestine, and we do not hide this support … Israel is a cancerous tumor in the region and we are helping the people of Palestine and we even send them weapons… during the 8-day war the people of Gaza dealt Israel a blow to the mouth with this military aid.”

(Ali Laijani, Head of the Iranian Parliment, in an interview while visiting Pakistan)

I think you’ve listed a lot of pre war relevance cfs.
Notice in your posts there are distinctions between Zion and Israel.

Maybe its just me, but I believe had the Zionists intended to live in peace they could have.

“We must expel Arabs and take their places.”
            — David Ben Gurion, 1937, Ben Gurion and the Palestine Arabs, Oxford University Press, 1985.

“Jewish villages were built in the place of Arab villages. You do not even know the names of these Arab villages, and I do not blame you because geography books no longer exist. Not only do the books not exist, the Arab villages are not there either. Nahlal arose in the place of Mahlul; Kibbutz Gvat in the place of Jibta; Kibbutz Sarid in the place of Huneifis; and Kefar Yehushua in the place of Tal al-Shuman. There is not a single place built in this country that did not have a former Arab population.”

Iran does support Arab resistance to Zion, for good reason I think.

Don’t have the time right now to post the Iranians stating clearly they differentiate.
Maybe this will help, hope the link works.

As long as treasury bill secondary markets are flooded with treasury bills, then you can expect rallies in Major indeces.

But since new highs may not actually be forthcoming, and people will look at the time spent on the topping process, the market might not see new highs as the asset bubble deflates finally.

Gary, I’m starting to get a complex with your never-ending attempt to call a top in me. Not nice! However, I am not pleased about Lagardes decision to include that Chinese so-called currency in a global basket 🙁 Perhaps that will help gold/silver to find an ultimate low.

IMF ….Yuan weighting in the SDR… at 10.92% is higher than JPY and GPB………zerohedge

If China conforms with IMF requirements about liberalized trade in bond markets, then the mega-bubble can be kept alive. One thing that was confusing was no de-peg.

Should the Chinese use their gold holdings to leverage up, it will be most interesting.

The percentage of the RMB in the SDRS should be dependent on the size of an economy, of course.

The effect of China in the US should not be under-estimated.

    RICK’S ….1044.50 is not in sight today……….

      Nov 30, 2015 30:32 AM

Rick settled his long-standing short sale with a 1044.50 target on Friday. If prices don’t meet with the target, then a more optimistic scenario for gold prices is in play.

My opinion has not changed for years, should we get to $1000 the Chinese increase buying.

Ricks $800 could still happe too.

Docs 2016 scenario sounds good to me, but maybe he is right about a big drop happening soon being The low(if it happens).

Al, gold isnt so doldrum if youve been short the last few years.

Monthly phyz purchase has/is working well for me, maybe the “astute” traders are waiting to buy.

I bought again the other day, a few buyers around, not busy but steady, again, all a person wanted is available.

NUGT and JNUG launched today but it looks like they are quickly running out of gas. I was watching JNUG but the chart never set up for a buy so I am still sidelined.

Stop The Insanity As Misinformation About Gold Continues To Reign
    By Avi Gilburt – – November 29, 2015
Ben Franklin used to say that “pain instructs.” But, based upon the continued unjustified faith by investors in what has been published these last 4 years as “analysis,” I am not so certain this maxim has application within the metals world. Read More »

Hey Aggy, some of us have had a good year on gold. I am going through my portfolio as we speak to see my gains/losses for the year so I can give the accountant wife an idea of how much tax we are going to get hit with on stocks this year. Three of my gold positions have returned me, 0%, 7%, and 16.5% and I ain’t done yet.

      Nov 30, 2015 30:39 AM

Does Avi want us to give up on this low price? People can hold on based on their analysis and belief. If people sell out at this price due to Avi’s own opinion, is he going to compensate people if the price does go up in the future and they lose the opportunity for not in the market?
