Welcome!

Letter to Investors & Outlook 2016 & New Book on Austrian Investing

December 22, 2015

A new guest this year on the show Ronald-Peter (Ronni) Stöferle, Fund Manager and Managing Partner at Incrementum AG in Germany, recently sent me his firms 2016 outlook and an update on their new book. Below is a PDF to investors as well as a preview tot he book. I have not had a chance to read the book but from chatting with Ronni it sounds like a good read.

Here is what Ronni has to say…

We hope that you are all having a great Christmas time!

An instructive, entertaining and busy year draws to a close and we are given some time around Christmas and New Year to turn inward, gather our thoughts, reflect the past year and think about the coming year. It is a time of contemplation in which we modulate from the rhythm of our fast-paced daily life into a quiet interlude and reflect whether our life still plays in the right tonality, i.e. whether our daily progressing is still consistent with the lofty vision on which we have committed our lives.

This applies not only for our private but also for our professional lives. Concerning the latter, it appears appropriate to gain a little distance from everyday market observations and to try to identify the bigger picture behind the gigantic flood of news and events that we are exposed to everyday.

Consequently, we want to introduce you our main ideas on the following pages and we hope that you enjoy reading our first investor’s letter:

Moreover, We are very proud and happy, that our new book on “Austrian Investing” is now available on Amazon: Austrian School for Investors.

The book covers a wide range of topics, including an introduction to Austrian theory that is written in a way that is understandable for laymen, and yet should still hold the interest of those who are already au fait with Austrian theory as well – with a view toward practical application in investment. It addresses primarily individual investors, but what it doesn’t do is tell you things like “buy 20 calls FB 150 Dec. 2016” – in other words, it is not a tip sheet. In fact, its goal is rather to familiarize the reader with an “Austrian philosophy” of life and investing.

In the following, we are attaching an excerpt of the book as well as a short presentation about the content and the authors:

Note: if you see that it is tagged as “temporarily unavailable” at Amazon, do not hesitate to order it anyway. Initially Amazon apparently always stocks very little of new books, it has an algo that measures how many orders are coming in and then determines how quickly and how many books to reorder, which shouldn’t take long.

Ladies and gentlemen, we wish you, your families and your colleagues a Merry Christmas and quiet, contemplative and leisurely holidays and a happy, healthy and prosperous new year!

Best wishes and Merry Christmas,

Ronald-Peter Stoeferle and Mark J. Valek
