If we become a social democracy like Europe, that will be a sad day for the USA

That won’t happen if you make the right choice in November. DT

Trump is a businessman, he knows socialism destroys free enterprise.

        Jun 04, 2016 04:27 PM

What makes you think he has a choice?

Jeff Deist and the Mises organization have a profound and I believe correct analysis of our culture today, as well as correct economic principles which lead to real prosperity. Having left the guiding principles of a constitutional republic, the people through apathy and ignorance (our current greatest enemies) are buying what the opinion makers are selling. It is reminiscent of a used car salesman selling a junker to an unsuspecting buyer because the buyer is only interested in how cool the vehicle looks. The paint job hides the rust beneath. We, as a society, are too eager to buy the sizzle rather than the actual steak. If people don’t have standards they stand for, they will fall for anything a slick salesman is selling. Buyer’s remorse is all too common and sadly, it is killing our culture and the positive future we once could look forward to. The world is changing in so many negative ways and it is sobering to think what the future may look like unless people start understanding and acting on correct and eternal principles that always lead to a better society. Jefferson opined that Americans needed to have a revolution every so often to keep the country on the course set by the founders. Just my opinion.

Boomers as parents of millenials? Not many. Boomers’ kids are Gen X & Y.

Other than that, great point about identity politics and politicizing everything.

Millennials and Gen Y are the same…

        I stand corrected!

          Jun 04, 2016 04:39 AM

Still – you point is valid. The children of the Baby Boomers were the Generation Xers. The children of the Generation Xers were the Millennials.

            Jun 04, 2016 04:40 AM

Somehow, the public has forgotten the Generation Xer’s completely and only focuses on the Boomers and the Millennials now.

            Jun 04, 2016 04:59 PM

Ex, I know of many Boomers that have Millennial children. The last half of the Boomers were born between 1955 and 1964 so they were turning 16 to 25 when the first millennials were born if you use 1980 as the start date or 18 to 27 if you use Strauss and Howe’s 1982 as the start date (which I agree with). The oldest Boomers were only 36 in 1982 and the youngest were just 40 when the last of the Millennials were born in Strauss and Howe’s 2004 end date (other end dates include 1994, ’96, ’97, and 2000 which would put the oldest boomers in their 30s when the last Millennial was born).

So I thinks it’s safe to say that tens of millions of Millennials were born to Boomers and very possibly even the majority were.

            Jun 04, 2016 04:07 PM

It makes sense that Gen Xers would be conveniently forgotten by those in power since they pose a threat to the Marxists. The Millennials and Boomers are naturally much more likely to be collectivists – like bees ready to sacrifice themselves for the hive without a second thought.

            Jun 05, 2016 05:46 AM

I guess I’m thinking of the first half of the Boomers (born 1946-1955) having Generation Xers for children, but I see how the second half of the Boomers from (1955-1964) likely gave birth to some of the first Millenials if the 1982 start date was used – which I also agree with.

Yes, it is very convenient indeed to have forgotten the Generation Xers which are really in their prime right now and are not collectivists and are generally anti-establishment.
