Big Al
August 2, 2016

Chris is joined in this segment by Brien Lundin, Editor of Gold Newsletter and host of the long-running New Orleans Investment Conference. With gold closing today very near its high of a few weeks ago north of $1,370/ounce they discuss many facets of the move…not the least of which is the dramatic change in sentiment that is bringing a lot of fresh money to companies.

Chicken or egg? The dollar was down overnight, so gold opened up this morning!

You left out another possibility: an eternally self-existent Creator.

Warning: volume in GLD was low today.

      Aug 02, 2016 02:47 PM

Wonder if that is really that significant now ?

    Aug 02, 2016 02:31 PM

Surely we have to have some kind of pull-back in gold and silver eventually. Today just seems a tad of everything having got ahead of itself. Who knows?

    Aug 02, 2016 02:35 PM

The health care company Community Health Systems has come in with poor results and the stock price is being punished accordingly after hours.

I have been watching this for several months – not sure if it was Chris who first made me aware of it on here or whether the big plunge earlier this year drew my attention – but I now know way too much about the hospital business in the US.

Looks like CYH is going to test its 52 week sooner than later.

      Aug 02, 2016 02:16 PM

At least ABC, which I recommended to Members int he mid-70’s and mentioned on here a day or two ago, is going the other direction. Near $90 now, up strongly today even after stronger earnings/outlook, unlike Community Health. (I’m glad I held off on recommending THAT falling knife!)

        Aug 02, 2016 02:42 PM

        Well done Chris.

Yep, Community Health looks a long way to go down yet.

    Aug 02, 2016 02:38 PM

I found that chat very interesting.

My gut tells me that we will get a shake-up in conventionals this month and that an awful lot of gold and silver stocks will be taken down for the ride.

The Aussies have lowered rates. The UK will do so on Thursday. I can’t see the Chinese and Japanese hanging around and watching the USD go down much longer considering how important exports, in USD, are to them both.

I missed this announcement last week:
Lithium X to Commence Drilling at Clayton Valley North, Nevada
CNW Group via CMTX – Thu Jul 28, 7:00AM CDT

      Highlights:

      — Four exploration holes planned from two drill sites in Phase 1
      — Lithium X is targeting five known lithium-bearing aquifers and
a lower gravel aquifer the Company believes has strong
      potential
      — Results could enable an initial Resource Estimate for the
      Project
Lithium X Energy Corp. (“Lithium X”, or the “Company”) (TSXV:LIX.VN) (OTCQB:LIXXF) is pleased to announce it has mobilized a drill rig to commence the Phase 1 exploration program at its Clayton Valley North Lithium Project (the “Project”) in Nevada. Clayton Valley is home to Albemarle’s Silver Peak mine, the only lithium production facility in North America. Lithium X controls the largest land position in Clayton Valley, located approximately 200 miles from Tesla’s Gigafactory. The first drill hole is approximately 100 metres north of the claim boundary where Albemarle’s northernmost production-sized well is located.

“I am thrilled to commence exploration drilling in Clayton Valley, where the vision for Lithium X was born less than a year ago,” said Brian Paes-Braga, founder and Chief Executive Officer of Lithium X. “Testing the exploration potential in Nevada complements the ongoing development work at our flagship Sal de los Angeles deposit in Argentina.”

Lithium X is permitted to drill four new exploration holes at two Clayton Valley drill sites, initially. The targets include the five known lithium-bearing aquifers under Clayton Valley and a lower basal gravel aquifer in the deepest area of the Valley basin. The Company believes this lower basal gravel aquifer has strong potential for positive lithium concentrations and production rates.

Lithium X is only up over 4000% since last summer. Due for a pullback.

Bob M, you might be considered a war hero for flying over 800 missions in Vietnam and surviving that is truly an amazing feat by why did you use your intellect to destroy The Vietnamese people and support the military industrial complex. Why didn’t you not see the stupidity of this war and simple refuse to fight. Many did and they became draft dodgers, you did not, WHY? DT

      Aug 02, 2016 02:35 PM

After feat by should be but! simple should be simply!

DT..Knowing Vortex he will come back with a very interesting reply/ comment.

          Aug 02, 2016 02:09 PM

DT. I should also add that anyone who took part in that war was a traitor to themselves , & a pawn of the bankers.

          Aug 02, 2016 02:17 PM

IT, I know you care. DT

          Aug 02, 2016 02:46 PM

Tony this particular segment lasted exactly 11:39, and during that time Chris and Brien talked exclusively about the markets and more specifically gold and silver related plays with in that sector.

What the Vietnam war or that era has to do with any of the discussion, I’m at a loss to connect the dots.

You’re much too smart to fall for targeted instigation attack tactics that are being initiated from time to time around here for no apparent rime or reason other than spite.

In the words of big Al. I’ve got a lot of time for you.

          Take care.

If you are Canadian or American and pay your taxes, you are paying for all the stupid wars. One thing that you don’t realize is that all the goldfish were shooting back at me.

I’m far more anti-war than you, I just happen to understand what people go through 100 times more than you.

    Hope everyone is well.

With all the respect I have for Brien Lundin, everytime I hear someone saying “we’re gonna have low rates for ages, I just can’t help to smile”.

So when I hear (to paraphrase) we’re “unlikely to see interest rates normalize in a GENERATION” (assuming a generation is 20-25yrs…) then I’m like “???????”. NO-ONE is expecting rates to normalize. NO-ONE. Everybody on the same boat maybe ????

As an aside, and again, with all the respect I have for Brien: gold bottomed BEFORE the Fed December meeting – not after.

    My 2cts.

Dt, I served in the Canadian forces.
I probobly woulda killed people had I been put in the position.
I was lucky and served in peacetime.
    Canada was still respected.

In any case,my point, I didnt see things for years after I got out.

I dont believe I served with anyone that actually understood anything, much less that wars are for bank profit or they are to further the power of zionism etc

How the h#ll are ya supposed to see that at 18?
At 18 the priority for most boys is how do I get laid.

Some americans saw people getting killed and disagreed, but that was far from a majority, most still had these silly patriotic beliefs and served when called or volunteered as they saw it as a duty etc.

Easy to call Bob out like that, not so easy if you were actually there, why not condem the boys that went to Iraq?

That would cost ya some votes I hear.

      Aug 02, 2016 02:39 PM

      B. As I have stated on this site for years. The only justification for war is defence.
How many wars has the US waged against weak countries since WW2.
The US “IS” the worlds “BULLY”.
All those so called hero’s who came back in body bags, just earned the bankers & the mic more dollars..;…….FCUKING BASTARDS.

    Aug 02, 2016 02:09 PM

The us is beyond bully, they (we) are the great satan.

How many wars? 30 million people worth last I heard.

Actually not as bad as Britain, when they were dominant, Britain killed 60 million in India alone. With starvation no less.
    Maybe we are getting better?

Course the us could yet kill everything that breaths, maybe we just need give them a little more time.

Can’t give you a number but the US has started 81% of all the wars since 1945. I was wrong in the war I fought in and that’s why I wrote a book condemning war. I make it clear in the book that there is no such thing as a hero.
