I have a tremendous amount of respect for Gwen (I am a paid subscriber), but I disagree with her on Integra. I don’t think this is an M&A story – this company may decide to become a mid-tier producer all on their own.

It will be exciting to see how it transpires of the next 18 months

Integra could absolutely become a producer on their own, but they’d have to raise a lot more capital and bring in engineers and mine building and operations experts. Getting a JV partner or getting taken out would truncate the longer term upside for existing shareholders, but it would be a big score for the company that could acquire them, so that seems like a possibility as well. I could see either scenario playing out, but the the odds of them getting into production are higher than most exploration companies.

Oddly enough, only yesterday I was looking at Tesla videos on youtube. I am impressed. I would love a car that does what the Tesla does. Can’t afford it though. Way too expensive.

Just too much money for a rechargeable car. Imagine the cost of battery replacement – could be the price of a high end engine.

Bank Of England Suffers Stunning Failure On Second Day Of QE: “Goodness Knows What Happens Next Week”

    It started off well enough.

On the first day of the Bank of England’s resumption of Gilt QE after the central bank had put its monetization of bonds on hiatus in 2012, bondholders were perfectly happy to offload to Mark Carney bonds that matured in 3 to 7 years. In fact, in the first “POMO” in four years, there were 3.63 offers for every bid of the £1.17 billion in bonds the BOE wanted to buy.

However, earlier today, when the BOE tried to purchase another £1.17 billion in bonds, this time with a maturity monger than 15 years, something stunning happened: it suffered an unexpected failure which has rarely if ever happened in central bank history: http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2016-08-09/bank-england-suffers-stunning-failure-second-day-qe-goodness-knows-what-happens-next

WOW! BREAKING=> Julian Assange Suggests Seth Rich – Who Was MURDERED in DC – Was Wikileaks DNC Source!

    Jim Hoft Aug 9th, 2016 8:15 pm 435 Comments

On July 8, 2016, 27 year-old Democratic staffer Seth Conrad Rich was murdered in Washington DC. The killer or killers took nothing from their victim, leaving behind his wallet, watch and phone.

Shortly after the killing, Redditors and social media users were pursuing a “lead” saying that Rich was en route to the FBI the morning of his murder, apparently intending to speak to special agents about an “ongoing court case” possibly involving the Clinton family.

Seth Rich’s father Joel told reporters, “If it was a robbery — it failed because he still has his watch, he still has his money — he still has his credit cards, still had his phone so it was a wasted effort except we lost a life.”

On Tuesday Wikileaks offered a $20,000 reward for information on the murder of DNC staffer Seth rich.

    Now this…
Julian Assange suggested on Tuesday that Seth Rich was a Wikileaks informant.

Someone FINALLY gets it right about the falling money velocity:

“This chart supposedly shows that money is moving too slowly in the economy, but you are grabbing the wrong end of the stick to reach that conclusion. The reality is something very different.

This chart is showing too much money is being pumped into the system relative to the amount of economic activity taking place. This pumping up of the stock of dollars is causing people to loss confidence in the currency. So businesses are buying assets – including their own shares. They are not investing in economic growth.” — James Turk

      Aug 09, 2016 09:53 PM

Not that original. We have been hearing for years that Fed interventions and QE are the cause of deflation. But that is pure nonsense. Maybe you and Turk don’t get that copper and gold are also assets. So explain why they were falling in value these past years if too many dollars were being created.

When you wrote “get it” you meant that you still don’t.

        Aug 09, 2016 09:58 PM

Another wonderful and timely call on the part of Birdman.

        On August 9, 2016 at 1:31 am,
        Birdman says:
Platinum is pretty much done too. Check it on a monthly chart. She’s cooked and suffering from the same expanding wedge (daily chart) that is going to sink silver and gold. Even copper when viewed on the weekly is still in decline. Not at the bottom yet. Nobody wants to believe that around here but sorry we are still in deflation until this ends.
And it will end. Just nobody can time it properly. Inflation is still a fantasy though.

And who said you were clueless and never made a good call. That was one of the most timely calls I have ever witnessed.

Oops, you didn’t mean it. You meant to say it was going to go up.

      Aug 09, 2016 09:15 PM

Doofus, the platinum chart is some of the best evidence we remain in a secular bear market in precious metals. You ought to study it more closely.

Monthly or weekly, platinum looks superb.

I’m starting to feel sorry for you, BM.

          Aug 09, 2016 09:47 PM

What “looks superb” is not a lock until it meets certain criteria. Then and only then can a trend be declared as a certainty. So don’t feel sorry for me that you are still doing grade school analysis and cannot understand what I am talking about.

            Aug 09, 2016 09:52 PM

I knew you’d double down; bullshitters always do.

            Aug 10, 2016 10:17 AM

Did this turn into a retard site since I was away?

Look Matthew, I cannot be be wrong until I am actually wrong. How simple does it need to be for your juvenile mind? Platinum has NOT broken out on a monthly basis and neither has gold. That is all I am saying and it is a FACT.

Any technician can look at those monthly charts and readily see that I am correct in my assertion. We are still officially and technically within bear markets for both until the charts say otherwise.

Even if they do break out that still does not make me wrong because if and when that happens I will agree that a new bull market has begun and there won’t be a disagreement.

            Lets just stick to facts.

Now be a good boy and put your name tag back on so the parents know who is the drooler.

Another brilliant comment out of the beak of Birdman.

Look Matthew, I cannot be be wrong until I am actually wrong.

Actually Bird, the way the rest of the world works is that you are wrong until you are right. You wouldn’t understand that because you are never right, only more wrong than you were last week. But wrong is always wrong until it is right. The rest of us get it.

If platinum went up $100 in a day would you get it?

New gold /platinum ratio .for the year 1:14.

        Aug 10, 2016 10:19 AM

Jerry you know we’ve been talking every week about Platinum & Palladium and the PGM miners all year long (and the end of 2015) and have mentioned repeatedly how undervalued Platinum has been to Gold. That ratio got about as extreme as the Gold:Silver ratio in January and is just now starting make some progress towards returning to the mean.

Most of the year I’ve been pounding the table on PGM miners like (PTM) (PLG) Platinum Group Metals, (IVN.TO) (IVPAF) Ivanhoe Mines, (WG.TO) (WGPLF) Wellgreen Platinum, the restructured relaunch of (PDL.TO) (PALDF) North American Palladium and lately I’ve been trying to get the word out about the PGM explorer that has everyone so excited (NRN.V) (NSHRF)Northern Shield.

It’s good others are finally joining the Platinum party 🙂

          Aug 10, 2016 10:28 AM

For the record, I probably won’t be joining the platinum party even though it should do very well for a long time. 😮

            Aug 10, 2016 10:39 AM

Well, you at least see that it has value and isn’t crashing and burning as other commentators have surmised. I like the charts you’ve posted on it, and this is the largest number of posters in a conversation on Platinum on this blog in a while.

The lack of interest, in general from the resource sector in PGMs really surprises me, because it has been on the move all year long, and often Platinum and Palladium has had far better percentage moves than gold on many days and few even mention it. I still believe Silver will have the most percentage gains, but because there are far fewer PGM stocks available, when money continues to pile into the space there aren’t that many places for it to land. This is why I like to keep a few irons in the fire for the PGM miners personally, but to each their own.

I was late to the Alexco party and didn’t by back my AXU position until March, so I’m still a little behind you gents 🙂

        Aug 10, 2016 10:56 AM

BTW – Did you ever check into (MAN.V) (MMNGF) Monster Mining?

They are directly adjacent to Alexco’s property at Keno Hill, and on the same trend. They have a second property that is adjacent to ATAC’s Gold property in the Yukon.

It is still very speculative, but once Alexco gets up and running on their mine, I could see them acquiring Monster Mining. (not investment advice…..just an educated guesstimate).

Well if we get a fall pullback in the metals I may add a little more to my position in it as a speculative consideration. With so many eyeballs on Alexco, I have to believe some investors will pull up a map and realize, dang, look at Monster Mining right next to them…. (for example, check out page 4 on their presentation linked above).

            Aug 10, 2016 10:07 AM

(RK.V) (RKHNF) Rockhaven Resources is another company that borders both Alexco and Monster Mining in that same district.

            Aug 10, 2016 10:12 AM

Strategic Metals owns 46% of Rockhaven Resources, so that is another great way to get exposure to their property.

I’m more interested in Monster Mining’s land in Keno Hill next to Alexco, and choose to get exposure to Rockhaven through Strategic Metals (since they own close to half of it).

        Aug 10, 2016 10:57 AM

This move today is in anticipation of Alexco announcing production (not happening) and a rumor that Alexco was going to raise $50M to pay off SLW and get their 25% streaming back (not happening)

After another disappointing Quarterly report and hopeless conference cal tomorrow morning with the CEO, Alexco will be back below $US 2.00.

Streamers and royalty companies have less leverage than some miners, but have high visibility among hedge funds, and thus will perform well in this next leg up.
