Another low flyer not on the radar, but soon to be is MAT.V Matamec Resources.
Matamec left for dead after Toyota Tsusho Corp pulled the plug on Mat’s flagship property,The Kipawa Heavy Rare Earth Deposit. On going problems with First Nations became an issue.
But that was not the only iron Matamec had in the fire.
I do not know the management team, but if I did I would tell them to update their website as there is more value here than meets the eye.
Canadian Strategic Metals optioned Mat’s Sakami Gold Property and has been drilling.
CJC.V has more than doubled in the last week with no news.
Although they have completed the earn in requirements as of the 16th of August of this year,I would say this alone hardly justifies a doubling of their stock price.IMHO
Matamec’s shares have not received the same price appreciation as their J/V partners, even though Matamec is a 50% owner.
The risk reward of this trade looks interesting.
    As always,do your own DD.

Thanks JohnK. I still have Matamec Resources on my Rare Earth watch list, but didn’t realize they had the JV on their Gold project. Very interesting and I’ll pop in and see what they are up to.

My favorite Specialty Metals / Gold Producer is Alkane Resoures (ALKEF) (ALK.AX).

For 2016 they have project Gold production in the 65,000-70,000 ounce per year area, which is much better than many household names in the small gold producers space. What is unique about this strategy is that they are taking the Gold mining proceeds and using them to develop their Zirconium and Rare Earths mine.

Alkane Resource is the only Specialty Metals development company I am aware of that is kicking butt as a Gold Producer to fund their longer term vision as a specialty metals leader. Maybe Matamec can follow the same basic approach?

What cracks me up is that most Gold investors don’t even follow Alkane Resources, nor do they realize they’ll be pushing out near 70,000 ounces this year at their Tomingley Gold Operation. I’ve been taking advantage of continuing to build a position while it is flying under the radar….

Just for clarity Alkane is not my favorite Gold producer, but rather it is my favorite Specialty Metals & Rare Earths company…..(They just happen to be nice little gold producers in tandem).

I just reread this post, and realized it was confusing because I mixed the Specialty Metals & Gold together in the same comment about it being my favorite. That was in reference to Zirconium, REEs, and Strategic metals project being my favorite in the REE…..but a big contributor is the Gold production which is fueling the development of the Specialty metals project (in a market that isn’t interested or funding the REE space at present). Over the next few years as gold rises, and some of their product mix rises, they looked to have timed both cycles perfectly as it relates to their business strategy.

I don’t own or follow MAT.V but it looks great technically and is ready to go higher:
