A technical breakdown for gold and a look at US equities and oil

Cory
August 24, 2016

Some interesting pull backs across the board today. We discuss gold, US markets and oil. Currently we are not overly concerned about these pullbacks as traders seem to be taking money off the table before the end of the Jackson Hole meeting. It will be important to see how these sectors behave as we enter next week.

Well, in the HUI’s favour it stopped dead just before the 100 day EMA so it may just bounce tomorrow.

        Lithium market should be Huge

Especially for preppers who want to go off grid.

LI is just another component of the Energy space, and it is in growth mode.

            Aug 24, 2016 24:08 PM

Yes “Energy Storage” and Backup power are key drivers, but they are mostly used to store Solar and Wind, and for satellite business sites.

            Aug 24, 2016 24:12 PM

Things are moving quickly in energy storage to the point where larger batteries will power your house and charge your car, and vice versa, you car will be able to power your house.

It still begs the question of where will the electricity come from and what methods will be used to generate the power to charge the batteries in the first place?

You getting paid to promote Lithium or something? You might disclose that to the readers here. You have left hundreds if not thousands of gratuitous posts on the topic and nobody here ever takes much interest. Its kind of curious really. Everyone seems to have an agenda these days.

            Aug 25, 2016 25:00 AM

No Birdman, I’m not paid for anything I post and I’m just an individual investor. Why do you get paid to be negative troll on here? If so you should really disclose that to readers here. 😉

It’s a resource investing blog and I’m posting a component of the energy & mining /manufacturing story that interests me. Battery power, Energy Storage, and the Lithium mining explosion has been a growth area in commodities and mining investment sector throughout 2015 and 2016.

There have been a number of contributors that have discussed Lithium, Batteries, Electric Vehicles, and backup power to Renewable energy as a topic on here, just like they discussed Oil, Nat Gas, Coal, Nuclear, etc… I invest in many aspects of the energy sector and post on Oil/Gas, Nuclear, Solar, Wind, Hydro, and Geothermal.

You got a problem with it then scroll on and troll on somewhere else buddy.

            Aug 25, 2016 25:37 AM

So you are not a promoter using the subject matter as a cover to garner sector interest and indirectly push shares of some companies? That’s good to know. You never can be too careful. I have a distrust of anyone pushing a subject too hard.

Especially when almost nobody ever responds to it.

            Aug 25, 2016 25:51 AM

And try not to be so defensive. It draws suspicion.

            Aug 25, 2016 25:34 AM

Whatever guy…. most people are appreciative to have more information on given commodity or energy sector. Nobody responded to your endless megaphone gibberish, and you had a cry-baby fit about it and posted about it for several days trying to garnering interest – Are you secretly getting paid to sell megaphones, or are you just cranky all the time because you sat on one and got it lodged up your backside?

You’re consistently the only one taking issue and heckling, and it is because you seem to feed on negative vibes. Seriously – “Scroll on” and “Troll on” somewhere else.

My one gripe about KER — that they give blatherman a free hand to spread his ill vibes.

Seriously, what’s up with that Cory et al? You implore us to behave decently, but turn a blind eye to the bad apple that consistently spoils the barrel.

+1 GH and very well stated, as usual.

            Aug 25, 2016 25:26 AM

I would have to agree, that we should all strive to keep the site clean of evil vibes. In order not to give our host ,the Big OWL unnecessary hassle, and baby setting monitoring..

            Aug 25, 2016 25:32 AM

I think BIG OWL DESERVES THAT WE BE RESPECTFUL TO EACH OTHER.,MAKING HIS LOAD LIGHT

            Aug 25, 2016 25:47 AM

Agreed. 99% of us are respectful towards one another.

As GH mentioned there is one bad apple spoiling the bunch that seems incapable of respecting the fellow contributors or the show hosts (and Birdman has done this for years). If we want to strive to keep the site clear of evil vibes as you mentioned then the solution seems pretty easy….

            Aug 25, 2016 25:51 AM

Did ya ever notice that there is zero Drama and no heckling or attacks on here on the days when Birdman is absent?

            Aug 25, 2016 25:58 AM

Being here daily and maybe here more than I should, and since you mentioned it, I think you are correct on the drama…. 😉

    Cory,
Great TA comments today. According to a cycle count ( that’s taken forever….to figure out) metals should fall until mid October, the 14th, and miners until early to mid November.
And I agree with you about oil, it’s heading south too.
