Retail sales, jobless claims all disappoint but the markets are moving up
Chris Temple joins us today to discuss the data points that have been released today. We start off with the jobless claim applications which rose only slightly but are still close to 4-decade lows. We talk a lot about how these numbers are not reporting the whole picture but I ask Chris how he looks at the numbers to determine the employment situation.
We then look at the overall market moves today vs the jobless claim and retail sales data. You would think that the markets would be falling in the face of poor data but that does not seem to be happening. We share our opinion why this is happening and not extending to bonds.
Finally a quick update on a company that follows closely, Sarepta Therapeutics.

Chris is about the only person I listen to regularly who suspects that the Fed will surprise and raise next week. I think he is right.
