The debate and oil meeting – what is already priced into the markets?

Cory
September 27, 2016

Chris Temple is back from Ecuador and has some comments on the factors driving the markets today. With Hillary Clinton being the presumed winner of last night’s debate US stocks are garnering a buy and gold is selling off. We are also seeing oil continue it’s choppy moves giving back all of its gains from yesterday. The main takeaway is that there are a lot of news driving short term moves in the markets and keeping a number of assets range-bound.

To me, the Donald looked fine in the first 30mn.
But in the following 1hr he looked like a total amateur – ike a bull in the arena while Hillary was waving the red flag.
He’d better hope that kind of under-performance don’t matter that much for undecided voters.

I hate to say, Big Al, I agree with Mr Temple, re Donald Trump. I believe Trump was not very well prepared. And that Trump is less intelligent than Hillary Clinton.
My problem with Clinton is that she is a socialist, bordering on Marxist; a destroyer of free market economics and society. Apart from that she is totally corrupt.
How is it possible that Trump did not talk about Pay for Play extortion and the illegalities of the Clinton foundation; pure crookedness? Hillary deserves to be behind bars for life.

Hillary attacked Trump on not paying Federal taxes, which is highly possible given depreciation write-offs for real estate developers. But how is it possible he was not prepared with a come back about Hillaries milking the Clinton foundation to cover her travel, avoiding paying taxes that way, and only using 5% of donations for charitable work?
Why did he not cite the Haiti situation where a minister from that country actually accuses her of absconding with hundreds of millions of dollars?

True, he did miss some good ‘come backs.’
Which is another reason he did not debate well.

What blows my mind is that either candidate is taken seriously by so many people – ESPECIALLY Hillary. The sheeple are NUTS.

Nice to have Mr T back.
The debate last night was nothing short of a clown dance.
Mr T is always right on the money.Trump didn’t lose,we as Americans lost.
We lost a long time ago.

An idea about Bonds being affected by Trump. I think Trump spooked bond holders some weeks ago with his ‘default’ comment. After this debate it looks like Trump won’t win . . . and Bond were favored today. Coincidence ?

Lew Rockwell give his take on the debate and is not wrong about Hillary:
