John Rubino, founder of DollarCollapse.com joins us today to discuss if Trump can bring the US economy back to life. First we touch on how wrong the pollsters were leading up to the election. We then move on to the market moves and indecision after the final results were tallied. All of the topics tie into the context of if Trump can actually fix the US economy.

I lived for almost 3 years in Westphalia, and used to visit this beautiful area regularly until I could no longer see well enough to drive.
It saddens me deeply that this area has been occupied by Islamic scum.
I can only hope Europe learns the lesson that rounding up and deportation of these scum is necessary before the continent descends into total collapse.
You either establish the rule of law, or society collapses.
Frau Merkel clearly will not survive much longer, but will her successor be labelled as Hitler-like, because for Germany to survive, it will not be pleasant.

Could not the movement in the market have been an attempt by the oligarchy to punish the voters, but making stocks very cheap attracted a flood of buyers in a low volume environment, and then momentum took over.
We still have a debt bomb – a very dangerous improvised explosive device, which will go off sometime.
If Trump’s behavior runs true to form and promises, he will bankrupt the country before he finds a way to make America Great Again.

Lowering tax revenue when there is already a huge budget shortfall each year. Trillions more debt to be added and interest rates will have to remain at close to zero forever.

        Great point Paul L.

The Fed may finagle out another .25 % but they won’t be able to “normalize” rates to the 3-4% area for quite some time. That’s been painfully obvious for a while, but talking bobble heads on the main stream media haven’t seemed to grasp that yet.

This will continue to punish savers, bank deposit products, the insurance industry. Conversely, this perpetual low interest rate environment will be a boon for Gold, bonds, and force anyone that wants yield higher than inflation to chase the stocks.

Trump may be the President-elect, but don’t forget we still have more than two months of the Devil Incarnate, who will attempt to further destroy the US by executive order.

You know, Omamacare was to bail out an insolvent healthcare system more than to provide socialized medicine. What’s more, Republicans are more likely to continue the war on drugs, especially fortifying the marijuana prohibition. And, now that the Republicans are in control, you won’t hear or see Trump for long periods, because the geopolitical situation suits republicans more than democrats. Plus, guess what Abortion will crowd the news again.

I want to see him nominate 30 judges to the Supreme Court. 10 libs, 10 mods, and 11 conserves for a total of 39 justices on the bench.

Why, on earth, would increasing the size of the Supreme court result in better judgments?

If anything, removing the power of the Supreme court to be the final decider, by a state-electorate over-ride would be a better solution.
i.e. If 2/3rds or 75% of the states decide a decision to be incorrect, the states would have the power to reject the Supreme Court decision.

Obamacare was designed to create a one-payer socialized system, not make the healthcare system solvent.

Trump is more a liberal/libertarian than mainstream Republicans, so there is an expectation that he will control the border, rather than go after drug-users.

I would hope, as leader of the republicans, he will put pressure on those most corrupt Republicans. This can only really be done by controlling the Supreme Court to reverse decisions that equate lobbying money and bribes to freedom of speech.

However, Trump’s election is merely a band-aid to slow the rot.
We need term-limits and budget spending and taxation limitations constitutionally.

Like single payer car insurance, right?

Voters for Trump voted for a straw man.
