    http://www.express.co.uk/news/world/741773/video-migrants-storm-spanish-enclave-over-border-fence-ceuta

Ceuta is a small tax-free enclave on the Mediterranean coast of North Africa, still owned by Spain.

unfortunately, Spain and for that matter Europe, is stupid by its long-term belief that if you can physically enter their country, then you will be considered for permanent immigration.
All this situation could easily have been eliminated long ago by a statement allowing for immigration permits only to be issued by embassies OUTSIDE of Spain, and that illegal entry would always require deportation.

His executive orders , should include him giving an order to find his birth certificate, his college transcripts , his correct mother’s name might be and sending a love letter to Putin………jmho

John K, I don’t know whether you have seen this video on u-tube but it talks about Trump’s pick to head The E.P.A., like Scott Pruitt or not if he gets in The Pebble Mine project in Alaska will I believe get the go ahead. DT

Like I have been saying for several years……..Big Oil runs the country….and the world.

        Jan 02, 2017 02:54 AM

Instead of getting through the front door by financing Hillary Clinton, The Koch brothers will achieve their goal by entering the rear door through Pruitt.

      Jan 02, 2017 02:16 AM

      Hi DT :
Obama and the EPA have been major hurdles . One thing that gives me pause is that Bristol Bay Native Corporation has come out publicly against the project. I’m of the impression now that they will mine Pebble when Fukashima radiation kills all the salmon. Trout unlimited has every fish in lower Talarik creek named and caught them all at least 20 times. There not going away. Then you have Bob Gillam ,Alaska’s most successful hedge fund director, with his private fishing retreat not to far away.Bob swings a big stick.I like Northern Dynasty stock ,but technically it is not what I’m looking for.If the Pebble project gets the go ahead,my kids and I will be major winners with our real estate holdings.I wish everyone the best.

        Jan 02, 2017 02:21 AM

John K, I think Rick Rule agrees with you, he recently stated that all Northern Dynasty must do now is to make peace with the native people. I assume he sees the other obstacles as having been removed. DT

          Jan 02, 2017 02:13 AM

In the mean time until Mr Pruitt comes out with a decision on the Pebble project,I think that anybody holding N.Dynasty stock will have access to their own personal cash machine.Shad/Excellsior and I were talking about NDM last year, that was the time to buy in at .38. If the market has a healthy pullback you might have another opportunity to get in.

    Jan 02, 2017 02:01 AM

    DT :
Just another thought I’ll share is the parallels with rural Alaska’s infrastructure and the proposed infrastructure spending of President elect Donald Trump. During the hey day of Prudhoe Bay, money flowed into rural Alaska for various infrastructure projects. The services were much needed, but what wasn’t considered was the residents ability to pay for them in the future. How about a $80 a month water bill for starters? If the infrastructure spend of President elect Trump
isn’t privatized some how,the States and their residents will be left paying for maintenance with money they don’t have.

      Jan 02, 2017 02:12 AM

Hi JohnK, some pretty astute observations on your part, the only glimpse I have of Alaska is from occasionally seeing a program called “Alaska State Trooper”. The people there for the most part were very poor but what I liked was the way the police treated the people with respect and they seemed to have an understanding of their community. Money always likes to go where other money is and if Pebble starts up this magnet would be drawing in cash from everywhere. DT

        Jan 02, 2017 02:34 AM

One must ask themselves why did President G.W. Bush restrict Bristol Bay from oil exploration, while oil has been flowing from Cook Inlet for years? There is more to this story than meets the eye.

          Jan 02, 2017 02:25 PM

Hi JohnK, You clearly state G.W. Bush, does this have anything to do with real estate holdings. DT

            Jan 02, 2017 02:53 PM

            DT:
I’m just a small fish in a big pond. One of the favorite forms of recreation for the rich and famous believe it or not is fishing. Everybody in Bristol Bay Alaska have one thing in common and that’s called fish.

Dubai plans to build large harbor, 135-meter-tall lighthouse
    AP – Mon Jan 02, 5:47AM CST

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — Dubai’s ruler has announced that the sheikhdom which is home to the world’s tallest skyscraper will build a new 1,400-berth marina and massive lighthouse along its coast.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum made the surprise announcement Monday about the Dubai Harbor.

The harbor is planned to be over 20 million square feet (1.86 million square meters) and will include a cruise ship port and terminal. The project also will include a 135-meter- (443-foot-) tall lighthouse.

Meraas, a developer backed by Sheikh Mohammed, will build the project between Dubai’s Jumeirah Beach Residence neighborhood and the man-made Palm Jumeirah archipelago.

Puerto Rico’s new gov seeks statehood to help end crisis
By DANICA COTO – AP – 1 min ago.
SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (AP) — Puerto Rico’s new governor was sworn in Monday, promising an immediate push for statehood in a territory facing a deep economic crisis.

Gov. Ricardo Rossello, 37, proposed several measures aimed at alleviating the crisis shortly after he was sworn in at midnight. Among them is a proposal to hold a referendum that would ask voters whether they prefer statehood or independence. Many have argued that Puerto Rico’s political status has contributed to its decade-long crisis that has prompted more than 200,000 people to flee to the U.S. mainland in recent years.

There is some truth to what you say about the electoral college system. But that is the system, so protests about HRC winning the popular vote are beside the point. If it were about the popular vote, Trump would have shifted his strategy, and who knows how it would have turned out.

If it weren’t for the Electoral College, the US would be ruled by the urban welfare class and university-indoctrinated lefties, neither of whom have the slightest clue about how to produce wealth. It would be the doom of the US. It’s probably where we’re headed regardless.

How can Trump act as responsible President whn he does not even respect military or CIA inteligence ?? i still predict Trump will be impeached by Repubs leading the way. Pence is more stabe , but obcessed with abortion issue . Trump had better ask for a massive excise tax to pay for his rebuild america idea. I suggest a 30 cent per gallon tax on gas and desil fuel . otherwise where will the money come from to rebuild ??? S

    Comments from the SGE:
. At the end of the third quarter of 2016, the international board had recorded a total of 7,837 tonnes of gold traded, with a turnover valued at nearly 200 billion RMB. The Shanghai International Gold Exchange is the test pilot and pioneer for opening up China’s gold market to the world. It is significantly important for further increasing the capacity, expansion and international influence of China’s gold market. In addition, the international board uses RMB for settlements, producing an effective convergence of the RMB offshore and onshore markets, expanding the cross-border use of the RMB and providing a new channel for return of funds. All these points steadily promote the internationalization of the RMB and serve as a useful exploration.

For RMB denominated gold products to gain popularity outside of China, we think the prerequisite is to provide a fair offering for global gold market transactions, with reliable gold benchmark pricing in RMB, using the Shanghai Gold Exchange benchmark pricing mechanism [Shanghai Fix] for our trading platforms. The weight of the gold traded is 1 kilogram, with a fineness of no less than 99.99%. Using a price inquiry method and market volume, a balance is reached to form the benchmark price of gold measured in RMB. The price announcements will be released externally each trading day at 10:15 and 14:15.

At present, the Shanghai gold benchmark price is being used by domestic gold producers and suppliers for hedging and settlements. More and more commercial banks are also using the Shanghai gold benchmark price for gold leasing and financing as the standard. More and more products linked to the Shanghai gold benchmark will be made available.

Other than domestic usage, the Shanghai gold benchmark price is also being actively studied more and more by external markets regarding its application. In October, the exchange signed an agreement with Dubai for the right to use the Shanghai gold benchmark price and authorization was given for the Dubai gold exchange to use the Shanghai gold benchmark price as the standard for offshore RMB denominated futures. The signing of this agreement marks the use of the Shanghai gold benchmark price in international financial markets for the first time. This greatly helps to elevate the international influence of the exchange in global markets and improves the image and reputation of the RMB abroad.

At this moment the SGE is open with gold up, silver flat.
    Gold price: $1186.25
    Silver $17.85

Ford Cancels Plan To Build New Mexican Plant, Adds US Jobs
Associated Press – 6 minutes ago
FLAT ROCK, Mich. (AP) — Ford is canceling plans to build a new $1.6 billion factory in Mexico and will invest $700 million in a Michigan plant to build new electric and autonomous vehicles.

Ford, however, still plans to shift production of the Focus small car to Mexico and will make the car at an existing plant. President-elect Donald Trump has been pressuring Ford to keep production of the Focus in the U.S.

The company made the announcements Tuesday at a factory in Flat Rock, Michigan, near Detroit. The factory will get 700 new jobs.

Among the new vehicles it will make are a fully electric small SUV with 300 miles of range.
