The lack of clarity in the markets leading to big daily swings

Cory
January 12, 2017

I wrap up the markets today with Chris Temple. We discuss the swings that the markets have experienced in the past two days and related this to the lack of clarity for the economy. Even when Trump enters office this could all get even cloudier. We outline what is and is not a good idea for investors right now.

WAY OFF TOPIC, but thinking of prostitutes…..
      Prostitution is legal in Germany.
Just walk across the bridge from the Summer Headquarters of the EU from France into Germany and you hit the red light district in German Strassbourg.
The Green Party is so Socialistically perverted in Germany that one of their planks in the up-coming election is “FREE” prostitute welfare payments for those in need of sexual satisfaction (subsidized by EU government grants and by German government)!

If that was a good reason to abolish the EU:
How about the elimination of 170,000 bureaucrats with average salary and benefits of $240,000, whose main reason for existence is to dream up new regulations.
e.g. Did you know there are 524 EU regulations regarding dogs?
Or how about 454 regulations for towels?
The real question is why it took so long to get to a BREXIT vote!

Free prostitute welfare payments–makes sense, if taxpayers with no kids are on the hook for welfare mothers, this is the logical counterpart…probably ought to be by lottery, lol

Mistake, or Russia proving it hasgreater hacking capability than US thinks?

Surely, if Russia had that capability, that would be the last thing they would do now.

Sounds more like some naff plan dreamt up in the CIA or NSA by a bunch of people with loads of social media experience but little real life expertise.

And you don’t think the traitor in the whitehouse is a Marxist?
In this action to help Cuba, by disallowing refugees (REAL refugees) and by returning them to that hell-hole.

I hope Trump kills this action on day one.

Mining companies are rolling out autonomous trucks, drills, and trains, which will boost efficiency but also reduce the need for human employees.

This passage stuck out in that article:

“Trucks that drive themselves can spend more time working because software doesn’t need to stop for shift changes or bathroom breaks. They are also more predictable in how they do things like pull up for loading. “All those places where you could lose a few seconds or minutes by not being consistent add up,” says Atkinson. They also improve safety, he says.”

As I mentioned the last few days – the news for Sabina would breaking soon. Looks like the Canadian Government is fine and sent it for review at the NIRB.

Here are a few comments and reactions from ceo.ca

    1) @tommy – “GoC punts Sabina $SBB permitting back to NIRB. Bullish”

    http://www.nirb.ca/app/dms/script/dms_download.php?fileid=306557&applicationid=124149

    2) @Goldfinger – “Tommy That’s the bullish news $SBB has been looking for! Great news” – from #index, 1 hour ago

    3) @tommy – “Tonight Sabina $SBB CEO Bruce McLeod’s dad Don is being inducted into the Canadian Mining Hall of Fame too. A good day for him! ” – from #index,

    4) @dirkdiggler – “Cool Beans and most excellent. $SBB”from #index, 1 hour ago

    5) @JamesKwantes – “Good news for shareholders and the $SBB crew. Confirms Back River is delayed not dead. Lots of local support and there should be lots of support in the market tomorrow too for a solid high-grade project. These issues can be mitigated. Sabina a #ResourceOpportunities pick at .39 (in 2015 during bear market).”

    6) @JamesKwantes – “Thanks guys! On $SBB, with these permitting issues being raised by NIRB, CEO Bruce McLeod’s 2015 decision to go with a new FS on a downsized mining operation also looks wise in hindsight. Reducing capex was a major goal there. Great to see it punted back to NIRB on the day his dad is inducted into Mining Hall of Fame!” – from #index, about an hour ago

    7) @T – “thank you to @Goldfinger for highlighting the potential breakout on $sbb the other day. picked up shares right after you posted that. will have a nice percentage gain after only 3 days! not selling though, long the stock. ” – from #index, 45 minutes ago

    8) @Goldfinger -“@T My pleasure, lucky timing. I’m interested to see where we open tomorrow morning. $SBB” – from #index, 37 minutes ago

    9) @JamesKwantes – “Just read the feds’ letter back to NIRB on $SBB’s Back River and it reads like a bit of a smackdown of the Nunavut regulatory agency’s report. It’s described as “deficient,” and there are a long list of issues where “sufficient information was not provided to support the Board’s conclusion that effects are unacceptable or that there is an inappropriately high degree of uncertainty”

Rob Mcleod is the CEO of IDM Mining and part of the family jazzed up tonight:

        Hi Shad :
Just started a new position in IDM. They have Shawn Ryan’s company doing work for them.Shawn Ryan knows what to look for. IDM has advertitsed hey have the largest land package in the Yukon. They also have a play near Stewart,BC.

          Jan 13, 2017 13:12 AM

Nicely done JohnK. I see news about IDM get debated quite often as Rob is a regular contributor over at CEO. Yes Shawn Ryan has been in the news recently with the name change of G4G Capital over to White Gold Corp.

Here is a cool piece from last year that touches on both Rob & Shawn:

More Sabina Gold & Silver chatter:

@Daniel – “I honestly think that this news put sabina back on the map for a lot of investors and also; Newsletter writers! So i would expect them to do very well. The only question is what will happen to Gold in the next few weeks. Compared to other, simlilar deposits, they still have to play catch-up though. $SBB 1 about an hour ago”

@tommy – “Just had a quick call with Sabina $SBB CEO Bruce McLeod. He’s very pleased by the Minister’s decision to refer to project back to NIRB for a re-review. Bruce expects a work plan from NIRB that shows the timeline and process for that in the coming days. He’s also going to ramp up marketing efforts. I’m happy to see this positive development for Sabina, one of Canada’s leading gold developers and an obvious takeover candidate. Bruce still says he’s going to build the Back River mine. SBB $1.28-$1.29, last at $1.28, up 11.3% on about 1 million shares.”

    OFF TOPIC; Hacking.

It is interesting to note that Cellebrite is a company used by the F.B.I. to hack when needed. (Since 2013)
I have unconfirmed information that this was the company used to get information out of the San Bernadino Iphone (not apple)

    A measure of socialism failure?

    http://www.mybudget360.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/Not-in-Labor-Force.jpg

    or declining work ethic?

      Jan 13, 2017 13:54 AM

combination of both………….socialism and work ethic…….when some one can retire , making more money not working than working, ie state california patrol, govt. workers with multiple retirement plans……..something is wrong.

Neither one CFS. Most of them are retired persons, school students, disabled persons and stay-at-home moms. Not unemployed or lazy persons. Start doing your homework.

I know Stanberry is pushing Northern Dynasty pretty hard as the “largest undeveloped Gold mine in the world”, and the share price has responded nicely.

It really is an amazing Tier 1 asset held up by permitting. That seems to be the theme lately, but the Stanberry pitch is that Trump will change the EPA veto.

This one is going to be an interesting story to follow.
