This significant breakout is hitting some of what Rick calls “key targets”. We also look at what is driving this market and how the USD and gold are being impacted.

I bought GPL this AM at $1.76—
Had sold too soon on the way up at $1.89

Like a good move. I saw their recent quarterly report, and it looked more encouraging for Great Panther moving forward. May your trade be a prosperous one.

Thanks for posting and thinking about our interest. I listen to this the other day when it first appeared. Interesting in that many of the topics have been discussed before here on KER…. Pretend Jews of banking have screwed many gentiles and it continues as we write…….I have stated this before, but, the real Jews have been set aside at this time period which we are in. And many dumb christians have not been educated nor read their bibles, See Acts. 7-11….

Goldman sakers……should be revealed for who they are…….

I follow that stuff a little bit.

Adds to a few pieces I have.

I can see why Nicholsen says “you cant handle the truth” lol
But really, nobody wants to know.
        Its just interesting.

BTW – Silver is higher than it’s been in a while at $18.40 and yet many of the Silver miners remain weak. I added to some of mine today, because surely the miners will get a little bump here with Silver’s recent strength.

Anyone else have any thoughts on the Silver miners?

Accumulation is now underway at the bottom of the current trading range. AG looks good, with close stops. Bill: http://www.stocktipster.net/index.php/2017/02/27/monday-report/.

BDC – Thanks for the post from Bill.

Here is the Silver Chart just to put this recent move into perspective.

I keep hearing how the metals have been weak, but look at the move Silver has put in coming out of the end of last year. It has been quite strong really.

      http://stockcharts.com/h-sc/ui?s=%24SILVER&p=D&yr=1&mn=0&dy=0&id=p41842109920

        Mar 01, 2017 01:51 AM

Notice that the 50 day EMA just broke back up through the 200 day EMA.

That doesn’t seem like weakness to me…..

        Mar 01, 2017 01:05 PM

Fair points Excelsior. Silver tends to be leading gold this year as opposed to last year. I still think gold retraces soon and silver will lag with it. However its underlying strength in the charts this year probably limits the downside movement.

          Mar 01, 2017 01:24 PM

Yes, it is nice to see Silver leading Gold (that’s a more bullish sign) but you are right that if Gold corrects hard, it would drag Silver down with it.

There are just so many investors, pundits, and articles talking about how weak the metals have been, and when I see Silver back in the mid $18’s and if you look at the move out of December and the MAs moving back up, then it just seemed worth posting the chart for a visual on Silver’s move the last 3 months.

          Cheers!

            Mar 01, 2017 01:26 PM

If Silver was to break the $19 barrier and get above that most recent Nov 2016 peak, then things may get lively in the metals and the miners…..

      Mar 01, 2017 01:44 AM

      Ex:
Good thought……Don’t have a lot of reserves but I’m thinking one could pick up some UEC and do as well. Actually, there are some good buys out there today. Take a gander at PPP. Also like the way Impact Silver and FFMGF are holding in there. Actually don’t expect prices to remain at these levels for long. Good luck.

        Mar 01, 2017 01:49 AM

Funny you mentioned those, as I added to all 3 today ( UEC, PPP, and IPT). I also added to (USAS, MND, AR, EXN, PLG, and LEU). I did finally sell the rest of my NAK for a small profit to get out of that mess and trimmed back my SCZ into the recent strength.

        We’ll see how it goes…….

      Mar 01, 2017 01:26 PM

Ex, I was expecting a repeat of Monday again today in the He miners. 0 for 5 on 5 stink bids. $.0055 Miss on PPP, WELL , there’s tomorrow.

        Mar 01, 2017 01:20 PM

Marty – Yes – there is always tomorrow….. (I did pick up more PPP today and that portion closed up, but overall I’m still a bit underwater). Had a few interesting private chats over on ceo with investors regarding Primero and most were just getting positioned yesterday and today and feel like this could be a major turning point for the company. We shall see…..

The sun will come out, tomorrow, bet your bottom dollar on tomorrow…..

    Since you asked.

    I think Doc is correct.

    Buy and hold.

Same with gold, pot and probly Bitcoin.

A few other things could be added Im sure.

    Heck, Rogers owns everything, lol
He is right more often than not.

      Mar 01, 2017 01:45 AM

Yep, Doc and Rogers are sharp guys. I have been holding most of my positions (but actually added a bit to silver miners today because the pricing looks strong to me).

“Nobody knows anything,” of course, so I’m just adding while I see this disconnect in spot pricing rising while the miners behavior has generally been one of pulling back.

      Mar 01, 2017 01:54 AM

if you had a couple of billion , you could own everything too……..lol

        b
        Mar 01, 2017 01:56 AM

Exactly, In one of his interviews he was asked what he owns, I laffed, he answered “Im a billonaire, I own everything!”

He is trying to help people tho.

    Mar 01, 2017 01:49 AM

Funny, I just spotted a Jim Dines interview, he likes gold, silver pot and bitcoin.

Maybe the contrarian play would be timber or concrete? lol

      Mar 01, 2017 01:55 PM

Dines is quite a character he usually has an entourage of women that follow him around called appropriately “The Dinettes”, this reminds me of the late 1950’s, OH NO! DT

    Mar 01, 2017 01:08 AM

It’s fitting. Snap IPO debuts tomorrow I believe. An app that has had three quarters of its features copied by Facebook et al. This market reminds me of the top in 2000.

      Mar 01, 2017 01:25 AM

Here’s a thought: “Men it has been well said, think in herds; it will be seen that they go mad in herds, while they only recover their senses slowly, and one by one.”

        Mar 01, 2017 01:30 AM

        One of my favorite books.

      Mar 01, 2017 01:33 AM

IPO’s are like real estate. They give you a price and then the bidding opens up much higher and it shoots up more during the day with a roller coaster ride.

    Mar 01, 2017 01:21 AM

I took a big loss on gdx in the aftermarket at 22.66 yesterday and bought some dips on At&t right at the bottom and Qcom pennies from the bottom today as well as Shell RDS.A. I just can’t predict GDX. Have a very large XOP position now and it is finally turning after maybe 2 months of declines.

      Mar 01, 2017 01:02 PM

Hi Paul L…I just pulled up the chart on XOP and the 5 day SMA(simple Moving Average) is below the 20 day and has a downward trend.

http://www.stockcharts.com then search for XOP then scroll down till you see
overlays then use the “pull down” menu and use simple moving average. Top parameter of 5 and then 20 right below it.

I only buy and hold for a few days at a time so I have narrowed the parameters to 5 and 20.

Hope that helps. You can use this website on any stock or etf and it will show you the trend.

        Mar 01, 2017 01:47 PM

The technicals will look quite bad after such a big decline from 45 to 37 and it is due for a sharp move up but $55+ oil is needed. After a few good weeks the moving averages should start to look much better. It has gone below the lower bollinger band.

    Mar 01, 2017 01:50 AM

Just added 1k BP a penny from the bottom.

      Mar 01, 2017 01:30 PM

      Well done sir.

    Mar 01, 2017 01:28 PM

CEO of Primero on BNN this morning. More than half there costs are labour and those will be cut significantly in the coming weeks. company will be profitable in the current metal price environment. Seemed very confident about a near term turnaround.

      Mar 01, 2017 01:28 PM

+1 – Thanks for the heads up Peter R.

Joe Conway is back in saddle at struggling Primero Mining

“Amid a strike at its main mine in Mexico, Primero Mining hasn’t released a 2017 forecast for output or costs. The company is also in a tax dispute with the Mexican government. We’re joined by mining veteran Joe Conway, who just returned as interim president and CEO.”

      http://www.bnn.ca/video/joe-conway-is-back-in-saddle-at-struggling-primero-mining~1068146

        Mar 01, 2017 01:29 PM

That was a good interview with Joe Conway and I feel pretty confident with him at the helm, and in their overall strategy moving forward (with the only exception being the wildcard with the Mexican tax issues – It’s just an unknown). This could be a very compelling turn-around story.

          Mar 01, 2017 01:08 PM

Conway basically laughed about issuing shares to raise money. Financial needs will come from profit.

            Mar 01, 2017 01:09 PM

Agreed. That’s the benefit of being a producer and not a developer or explorer money pit. He also stated they had everything needed in the 8% loan from Sprott, which had better covenants than what they would have got from a traditional bank.

    Mar 01, 2017 01:52 PM

Just sold my Russell 2000 2x ETF symbol UWM for 4.09% gain overnight. Sold my Gold ETF symbol GDX for 1.4% gain. Held for three days.

The market feels like how it was in the late 1999 when the tech bubble exploded and then crashed. Were are over eight years into this expansion and usually a down cycle happens like clockwork every eight to nine years so I’m keeping cash on the sidelines and only buying on pullbacks.

Alcoa is having a great day up 9.41%..symbol AA.

    Mar 01, 2017 01:42 PM

looking to sell into more strength , holding MET metro life insure and SPY . looking to gradually unload into the tax cutting idea which has yet to be implimented. Our new great leader promises tax cuts , and huge spending at the same time. Can you imagine Ryan a major tight money guy allow ing massive spending without paying for it ??

    Mar 02, 2017 02:50 PM

Going to sell my Inverse Russell 2000 2x ETF symbol TWM up 2.17% from where I got in yesterday. Going to buy the Russell 2000 2x long symbol UWM at the close.

The gold ETF GDXJ is down over 7% and GDX is down over 4%. Even the Silver ETF SLV is down 3.4%. Going to wait on buying GDX here at the close and see what happes tomorrow. Need another day to confirm the direction. The entire sector today is getting hit hard again.
