Rick is spot on with the jobs numbers……and economy…….

      Mar 08, 2017 08:58 AM

Job numbers are derived from a large amount of data plugged into a computer and it artificially works out the numbers which have nothing to do with actual jobs. No agency actually counts the number of jobs created by looking at hiring reports of companies.

Trump bringing Obama back into the picture with these wire tap claims and then wikileaks follows it up with their claims almost seems like they are working together. Why does Trump keep stirring the pot? I think they are trying to keep us preoccupied for something big that is coming. What is it? I have never seen the US so divided in my life. Sad to see

Oil looks like it is headed to around 46 to 47. Down 5% now. I had another offer go through on 250 Wellington in downtown Toronto bidding about 50k more than asking. The 2 units I have to close now are already up sharply thanks to some good maneuvers by my wife.. All I do is click with my mouse like buying a stock.

      Mar 08, 2017 08:06 PM

It’s interesting. EIA forecasts oil as being pretty stationary at $54 and maybe slightly higher later in 2017. That by my models would put inflation at 3+% for two months and then drifting back down to 2%. If oil goes to around $40, it will be down year over year on monthly averages and CPI could be under 2% again soon. So the current inflation spike is all on currently highly positive oil price yoy figures, nothing else. Nothing else. Feb oil price average was 75% above last Febs for instance. That’s why inflation is likely to go to 3+% for Feb.

An expert a few days ago on cnbc had a target of $60 for this spring.

This market will take time to turn down slowly with small down days and then one day it will fall hard on some major news event like North Korea and open 100 points lower like last summer and 2015. According to those who study the stars a war is due soon near August. I am staying in cash for a while to wait and watch for opportunities.

    Mar 08, 2017 08:00 PM

Gold $1140-1145 in the cards I think.

      Mar 08, 2017 08:19 PM

As I mentioned days ago, gold at 1160 is odds on.

    Mar 08, 2017 08:12 PM

Gold bugs must be asleep at the switch. 3x gold funds doing NOTHING! Gonna make a whole $10 today on DSLV if I am lucky.

OK I am going to llink to my inflation chart to end of 2018 based on current oil prices and EIA WTIC oil forecasts. This is bit of free hobby based research and I see so much stuff available for huge charges that does not give any figures, just waffle. I do admire Rick because he gives numbers, real targets to swing for.

This should be the last year of the elevated conventional markets—the first half of the year as mentioned before should be the last gasp. The PMs will continue to try to gain their footing but not until at least the end of this year or 2018. They should continue to trade in their now established wide range for some time. There is also going to be continued pressure for the bullion and stocks well into late March and possibly early part of April. Then will be the time to add although there are selective stocks worth adding to before then.

      Mar 08, 2017 08:41 PM

Doc – I finally bit the bullet and added some (EXK) Endeavour Silver today after watching it ratchet down on their missed earnings report, and then it got further fuel from the sector-wide mining selloff, and likely tripped some sell-stop orders to adding another log onto the selloff fire. It just seemed like value to start a position in Endeavour Silver.

Something tells me they’re going to be just fine with Three Producing Mines & Three Development Projects. Like you I believe Precious Metals will do just fine moving into the end of the year and into 2018…

        Mar 08, 2017 08:05 PM

Ex; you’re going to ultimately be fine with Endeavor—patience will be the key. They’ll start to ramp up their exploration and that’ll take time. The problem with most of these miners is that they all moved up unrealistically and now have to proof their worth. The next major bullion move will move most of them again to challenge their 2016 highs. I will continue to add to an EXK position over time since Iike the miners that are actually producing since they’ll be the first out of the gate when the next major bullion move occurs. This will be the year to take major position in the miners as they are taken to the woodshed. This move, however, will scare most people out of these markets when it will be the time to really load up on your favorite stocks. As you know, I was warning all those that said this would be a repeat of 2016 that it wouldn’t be that repeat. A lot of people have once again piled in and chased this thing. It’s always the most difficult thing to purchase when blood is running in the streets and that’s what we’re seeing and going to see for a period of time. I look at this major sell off as a great opportunity.

          Mar 08, 2017 08:32 PM

Doc – Agreed on all points made on Endeavour Silver and on the macro backdrop.

I’m starting to deploy dry powder like a pirate under siege. (and will continue to do so)

If you run a small business you must treat your employees like family or your business will die. We are now in a global economy, there will be very disastrous results if we don’t all live together. That is our failing as humans and with nuclear weapons our species is at risk. DT

    Mar 08, 2017 08:27 PM

Agreed DT. Unfortunately, the division will continue to fester. Its certainly a power play: to divide and conquer. But at what cost?
