Press is Trying to Create a Stock Market Crash to Get Rid of Trump

The Washington Post, New York Times, and CNN, among others, are desperately trying to get rid of Trump to support the status quo, the deep state, and prevent any economic reform whatsoever. Jeff Bezos bought the Washington Post for $250 million and cut a deal with the CIA to build their cloud getting $600 million.

The real question mainstream media will not dare answer is how does a private meeting between Trump and Russia end up with leaks to the Washington Post and New York Times because Trump informed the CIA and NSA about the meeting. This leak PROVES beyond a shadow of doubt that the collusion between the Deep State and mainstream media is in full swing.

Silverdollar I thought the same thing. Originally about 2 decades ago I got really into the conspiracy guys like Alex Jones, David Icke, Art Bell, etc…. but Alex has really gone off the rails. Once every so often he breaks an interesting story, but has had so much bad reporting or very opinionated pieces over the years that he’s lost credibility in most people’s eyes. However, for the comedic ranting he does, it is still worth the “info-tainment”. 🙂

Here’s a video mash-up that a buddy sent me a few months back, and it really gave me a laugh. You gotta give it to Alex for being an intense performer 😮

China’s building a mega city from scratch – it’s going to suck in lots of steel, copper

Frik Els | about 24 hours ago

“On April 1, Xi announced a state-level plan to transform a backwater called Xiongan, located 110km south of Beijing and near the port city of Tianjin, into a hub for technology and innovation by building a city that will eventually cover 2,000 square kilometres or nearly three times the size of New York.

Under the current plans, living space and commercial floor space per capita will be larger than Beijing

Xiongan New Area is designed to relieve the pressure on Beijing which is being choked by overcrowding, pollution and traffic congestion. The central government will relocate many state-owned companies and institutions including universities to Xiongan. By linking the new city to Tainjin authorities hope it will become an engine of growth to rival Shenzen (the first Special Economic Zone created in 1980) in the Pearl River delta, as well as Shanghai and the Yangtze River delta megalopolis.

A new study from Wood Mackenzie tries to estimate the impact of the investment in Xiongan (up to $580 billion over 20 years according to some estimates) on metals markets:

Initially, Xiongan will need to significantly upgrade its infrastructure. This will be almost equivalent to building an entire new city given the area’s current poor infrastructure. The relocation of industries and people to Xiongan will create demand for both residential, commercial and industrial buildings. It is worth noting that, under the current plans, living space and commercial floor space per capita will be larger than Beijing.

This additional demand for space will spur greater demand for home appliances, such as air-conditioners. Wood Mackenzie believes the immediate impact of this increase in demand could be seen within one-three years, although the first stage of Xiongan’s development will take at least 10 years.

Wood Mackenzie’s base case scenario envisages the development of Xiongan tracking that of Binhai, a SEZ established in 2005 which today has over 3m inhabitants and GDP in 2015 of $135 billion:

If Xiongan can achieve the same level of development as Binhai, we estimate the new area will add around 20 Mt of steel demand, 400 kt of aluminium demand and 250 kt of copper demand during the first 10 years. Binhai reached its construction peak around 2012, seven years after it was established. If this is repeated with Xiongan, the peak year is likely to be between 2020 and 2025…”

Cabinet approves 10 nuclear reactors for power generation:
    By: IANS | New Delhi | Published:May 17, 2017

“The Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved the setting up of 10 indigenous Pressurised Heavy Water Reactors (PHWRs) for nuclear power generation.”

“The cabinet has approved to install 10 indigenously built PWHRs,” Union Minister Piyush Goyal said at a press conference after the Cabinet meeting presided over by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“Goyal, who is Union Power and Coal Minister, said the new PWHRs will generate 7,000 MW power. At present India generates 6,780 MW from nuclear power.
Goyal also said that nuclear reactors, which will produce 6,700 MW, are under implementation and these are expected to be completed by 2021-22.”

      Spot Uranium Prices Experience Correction
By Leia Toovey -May 17, 2017

“The spot uranium market ran into a fair bit of pressure last week, with industry consultant TradeTech’s weekly spot price indicator losing 5.3% to reach $21.25/lb. According to TradeTech, seven transactions totaling 800,000 lbs U3O8 took place, with buyers having the upper hand. TradeTech’s spot price indicator has run into resistance since peaking at $26.50 per lb in February.”

Meanwhile, a positive development, TradeTech noted that there has been an increase in interest in buying for later delivery, particularly post-2020. This is likely a result of buyers wanting to secure supplies at lower prices. The uranium market is expected to turn around when new capacity comes online, and this could start as soon as 2018. While the ramp-up of new nuclear facilities will be gradual, over the long run as they accelerate it will be very bullish for uranium prices.”

Rick Perry Is Implementing Pragmatic Environmentalism For Trump Administration
        James Taylor , May 16, 2017

“Speaking at the Los Alamos National Laboratory last week, Perry affirmed his commitment to nuclear power. “If you really care about this environment that we live in — and I think the vast majority of the people in the country and the world do — then you need to be a supporter of this amazingly clean, resilient, safe, reliable source of energy,” said Perry.

“Recognizing the high costs and impracticality of wind and solar providing enough emissions-free power to address global warming, Moniz was also a strident advocate of nuclear power.”

“I also know we can’t get there [meeting carbon dioxide reduction goals] unless we substantially support and even embolden the nuclear energy sector,” said Moniz early last year. “We’ve got to support the existing fleet.”

Nuclear Power in Japan(Updated May 2017)

Japan needs to import about 84% of its energy requirements.

Its first commercial nuclear power reactor began operating in mid-1966, and nuclear energy has been a national strategic priority since 1973. This came under review following the 2011 Fukushima accident but has been confirmed.
The country’s 50+ main reactors have provided some 30% of the country’s electricity and this was expected to increase to at least 40% by 2017. The prospect now is for two thirds of this, from a depleted fleet.

Currently 42 reactors are operable and potentially able to restart, and 24 of these are in the process of restart approvals. The first two restarted in August and October 2015.

            *Japan Nuclear Update

            * Japan’s Takahama 4 Could Restart May 22

May 11, 2017— “Japan’s Kansai Electric Power Co. could connect its 870-megawatt Takahama 4 to the electricity grid as early as May 22, the Nuclear Regulation Authority (NRA) said. NRA is conducting prestart inspections on the reactor, which is expected to become the fourth to resume operations. The restart tests will require seven or eight days to complete, NRA said May 8. The reactor was refueled between April 28 and May 1.”

Of Japan’s 42 operable reactors, only three are currently being operated commercially—Kyushu Electric Power Co.’s Sendai 1 and 2 and Shikoku Electric Power Co.’s Ikata 3.

** Takahama 4 Fuel Reload Complete

May 4, 2017— “Kansai Electric Power Co. completed loading fuel into its Takahama 4 nuclear power plant May 2. The company began loading the 157 fuel assemblies into the reactor’s core last Friday, after a court lifted an injunction that has kept both Takahama 3 and 4 off line since March 2016, despite regulatory approval for their operation. Kansai Electric aims to resume generation at Takahama 4 later this month and at Takahama 3 in early June.”

The Global Nuclear Landscape Is Changing And America Better Get On Board

          James Conca – May 19, 2017

“You wouldn’t know it from the press, but nuclear energy is actually moving forward around the world, even in the United States. Third Way recently surveyed the North American landscape and found 60 companies and research organizations developing advanced nuclear technologies.”

“Even more surprising, is that there are 81 advanced nuclear reactor projects in 20 other countries (see figures). The United States leads in the number of technologies being developed, and there is little doubt our designs are better, so why do we seem to be behind in the race to capture the nuclear market? …”

“This leadership provided major benefits to the American economy and our foreign policy interests. But over the past two decades, the U.S. has lost its ability to compete in the global market, even as climate change and energy-hungry developing nations make civilian nuclear power even more important.”

“Instead, China and Russia are moving to become the global leaders. This would have grave consequences for our country and for global security. The post-WWII world order based primarily on American democratic principles and supported by our economic and military power is changing. China threatens our economic power and Russia is testing our military and security abilities.”

“This is not a time to relinquish our lead in nuclear energy.”

      FitzGerald – By Barry FitzGerald
      19th May 2017

Glasenberg cheers on the electric vehicle revolution. Plus, Aussie lithium miners to feed the EV appetite.

“But at least Glasenberg has clarified the impact for the mining sector by putting some hard numbers on what could evolve, saying the revolution will “require a significant change in material flows of the global economy, including the installation/rebuild/replacement of supporting EV infrastructure’’.
The big four metals of the revolution as it is currently understood are copper, cobalt, lithium and nickel (to which the non –metallic graphite could be added). Glencore is a big producer of three of them – copper, cobalt and nickel.
So there is an element of Glasenberg talking his book in Barcelona. The presentation is up on the Glencore website and is worth a peek. It draws on a range of sources. Its clincher statement is that a “rapid’’ EV adoption scenario (ie 95 per cent of global vehicle sales in 2035 are EVs) would create demand for 20 million tonnes of copper, 1.8m tonnes of nickel and 679,000 tonnes of cobalt.”

“But the real interest here today is that after its deep dive in to the lithium sector, Citi has decided to initiate coverage of two of the key local players – Pilbara Minerals (PLS) and Galaxy Resources (GXY). ”

“Both companies are at the forefront of the wave of lithium supply expected to hit the market over the next few years and by 2023 each is expected to contribute about 11% of global supply,’’ Citi said.
