DO THE MATH: Here’s the rational analysis why 99% of current Bitcoin owners will never be able to sell Bitcoins for anything close to its imagined current value

Never made sense to me Markedtofuture.

      I skimmed it Mark.
The same thing happens with PM shares too doesnt it?(or anything)
People sell more than liquidity and the price drops.

b..the Cabal loads up on the favorites. They loan shares to help with running the stops. All markets are manipulated. Physical in hand has no counter parties.

Yupper, thats the one thing about phyzz I think is under mentioned.
There is no need for this “to the moon” blaabber.

No counter party risk is huge, thats what people should understand imo.

Rick Rules smile say’s simply ” I am the cat who got the cream and I’m not giving it up.” DT

      May 27, 2017 27:25 AM

Rick is not stupid and he works very hard.

        May 27, 2017 27:41 PM

Rule may not be stupid but I believe he fits into Nasseem Taleb’s category of Intelligent Yet Idiot.
His off hand comments that manufacturing line people will have to learn how to become computer programmers strike me the same way that I’m sure French peasants felt about Marie Antoinette’s comment that if the peasants had no bread, then they should eat cake.

And again, Fred addressed this better than I could so here is something Rule should read and consider. I try not lapse into rude comments that spring to mind whenever I run across Rule’s condescending prattle. https://fredoneverything.org/capitalism-and-the-minimum-wage-i-got-mine-screw-you/

          May 27, 2017 27:14 PM

          Afternoon on John M,

I think that, in a sense, Rick is correct. I say this because, eventually additional education will save the day!

            May 27, 2017 27:15 PM

P.S. and, you know what happened to Marie A?

            May 27, 2017 27:46 PM

Al, I understand the point on additional education. I just have a bee in my bonnet about how “simple” it would be to fix if the “private sector” was “freed”. Some sarcasm here.

However, two quotes come to mind. One, “I know where I want to go but I can’t there from here”. Two, “Everything in war is very simple. But the simplest thing is difficult.” from Clausewitz. I cite the Clausewitz quote because to me it also applies to the economic/job retraining issue.

Retraining 40 year old and older truck drivers (for example since driverless long haul trucks are coming) for whatever technical job Rule has in mind is laughable.

And this is just a small example. We have a tsunami of automation that will put millions of this class of people into very dire straits. These people, as a rule (pun intended), are not high IQ motivated individuals ripe for retraining in technical fields every 10 years or so. Heck, I don’t think a good chunk of the people in universities are either. If these kids coming out of university can’t make it and have to move into their parent’s basement, how is a forty year old laid off truck driver, burger flipper or factory worker going to deal with this? The automated out of work individual also gets to compete with the basement dwellers. Further more, these two groups will also get to compete with the higher end out of work technicians and professionals that have AI pushing into their fields.

So, when Rule throws out (Lord knows he’s not the only one) simplistic platitudes (as I see it), I get riled. We have bigger problems (some addressed by Reed in his article). We are building a very large “herd” of people who have a very shaky stake in the system. And another quote comes to mind, “Beware the thundering herd”. Something Marie Antoinette learned first hand (or head).

The system as it is and as it is evolving “profits” an increasingly smaller segment of the population. The private sector “label” runs from crony capitalists, the military industrial complex all the way down to the local store owner or independent tradespersons. So, some of the private sector may show the way but an increasingly large part of the “private sector” is becoming wedded to the government sector. This is fascist, pure and simple. This group is happy the way the things are going. And the financial/credit system seems to funnel things in only one direction (small exaggeration). Perhaps the system’s profiteers need a little religion.

Sorry about running on so long.

            May 28, 2017 28:23 PM

Although there is no link to reply below his comment, I think JohnM gets to the heart of the issue in that there will be a great dislocation (actually, it is already happening) in the job market due to the lack of qualified workers for the automated economy.

There is already a growing failure to increase the graduation of students in STEM fields and the gap is widening: https://www.usnews.com/info/blogs/press-room/2015/06/29/the-us-news-raytheon-stem-index-shows-gender-and-racial-gaps-widening-in-stem-fields

The corporate response is simply to increase the number of H1b visas and import the workforce needed from overseas. How does this help the workers in this country whose jobs are being eliminated by automation and now find no one is interested in their skills or abilities?

The whole question also ignores that there is likely a large segment of the population who have no aptitude for a STEM career. What about everyone else who fails utterly in math and engineering?

Warren Buffett famously said that we’ll have to pack these people off to Afghanistan: http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2015-09-08/some-people-just-dont-fit-economy-buffett-explains-we-send-them-afghanistan

Others suggest that governments will simply have to provide a living wage to their citizens: http://www.cnbc.com/2016/11/18/elon-musk-says-robots-will-push-us-to-a-universal-basic-income-heres-how-it-would-work.html

Of the two, I prefer the latter approach … as it’s at least more humane.

    May 27, 2017 27:58 AM

Thanks very much Markedforfuture. A sell-off of just 100,000 bitcoins equating to BTC price dropping to below zero says it all. Cryptos may well represent the future, but Bitcoin is neither for wealth preservation, nor due to its lack of fungibility is it even an investment. For the vast majority as makes no difference bitcoin is modern-day tulip mania.
Thanks as always Cory and your team.

      May 27, 2017 27:06 AM

Yeah but don’t you wish…? I recall Berwick or someone else on Kerry Lutz’s show pushing it at $5 to $7. Now it is what? $2000?

Andrew, a troubling point in that audio, was the probabilty of central banks with large BTC holdings. Nice way to crash & burn it, without being prone to cyber attacks.

          May 27, 2017 27:32 AM

Markedtofuture, “central banks with large bit coin holdings”?

            May 27, 2017 27:36 AM

Ive read the same thing, why shouldnt CBs own bitcoin? it costs them nothing.
No idea if its true, but its more believable than aliens.

            May 28, 2017 28:00 AM

Big Al, the CB’s are buying up the markets. The swiss own quite a bit of AAPL. Chris Martenson’s on USA watchdog starts as follows:

Resource analyst and futurist Chris Martenson says, “I’d rather look stupid now than look stupid later.” Martenson thinks the stock market rise since the last crash is mostly manufactured by central banks. Martenson explains, “What in the heck is going on is real simple. We have central banks who have now taken over everything in the markets. Let’s be clear, markets go up when they are really well supplied with liquidity. We have $200 billion or more a month coming into these markets . . . these central banks are dumping $200 billion, sometimes as much as $250 billion a month into the markets.”

            http://usawatchdog.com/you-can-look-stupid-now-or-look-stupid-later-chris-martenson/

        May 27, 2017 27:31 AM

Andrew, I believe that you are a very intelligent man and I do respect that. As I commented above beware those who are spooning out the pablum that you want to eat.

    May 27, 2017 27:23 AM

Rick Rule, if the young people don’t owe the old people a living then maybe we should just get rid of the old people. That would certainly solve the old age entitlement problems. Maybe we should redefine that to mean anyone with grey hair or bald spots, LOL! DT

      May 27, 2017 27:33 AM

As a further comment on that situation maybe humans are redundant because if you look down the road it is the machines that are solving our problems and they don’t need any of our solutions. Got a problem with cheap Chinese labor just build more robotic machinery, and when it is obsolete it will rebuild itself into a more efficient machine. But wait a minute the machines are bound to realize they don’t need creature comforts like humans so where does that leave us, and the machines will only need better power supplies. I don’t buy into the camp that believes we can program machines to be our slaves, we have already lost that ability. DT

        May 27, 2017 27:37 AM

How do you feel about the concept of humans being redundant?

          May 27, 2017 27:42 AM

Big Al there are some humans that feels that way, and concerns that AI or intelligent robot/androids may come to that conclusion.

Then there are folks that believe humans will evolve with machines/chemistry/advanced learning into some new form of neo-human. The Transhumanism movement is very controversial and polarizing but it is something we’ll need to face in our lifetimes, and we are already facing it.

There are also humans that believe fellow humans should spread out and populate the solar system and then galaxy to seed multiple human civilizations.

The planet is sure “peopling” quite a bit and population is exploding day after day. All these souls came down and bought tickets to this particular period of time in the human story, so at least we have a “full house” so to speak, for whatever is coming next.

The future may deem humans as redundant (as you asked), but for now, despite their shortcomings, most humans seem like exactly what the Earth ordered. Sure, we all have room for improvement as caretakers of the planet we find ourselves on, but I haven’t given up on human ingenuity yet.

            May 27, 2017 27:10 AM

Thanks Excelsior, many opinions and many sides to this story.

            Thanks, my friend.

Nor have I Excelsior. I seem to be the constant optimist as I believe that Trump will prove to be a great president. That is almost the epitome of optimism at this point.

            May 27, 2017 27:21 PM

I appreciate your optimism Big Al. The world needs more of it.

Wishing you and your family prosperity and a relaxing long weekend.

      May 27, 2017 27:36 AM

To say that young people don’t owe the old people anything may be true in some cases, but thank God not in mine.

Dick, from what I know about you, I believe that you don’t fall into the category of folks who were not responsible parents. Am I correct?

ZBIGNIEW BRZEZINSKI DEAD: President Carter’s national security adviser was 89

Zbigniew Brzezinski, the Poland-born national security adviser to President Jimmy Carter who was best known for his rigid anti-Soviet views, has died at the age of 89. His daughter, MSNBC host Mika Brzezinski, confirmed his death on Twitter Friday night.

    http://www.foxnews.com/?cmpid=NL_breaking

      May 27, 2017 27:03 AM

Most average citizens of the US will never under that Brzezinski was VERY influential in the policies of this country, not just under Carter, but with the Clintons, and in particular with the Obama administration.

It is from his influence behind the scenes that dredged up so much anti-soviet sentiment. I warned people of that back in 2008 and 2012, when Obama was elected, that Brzezinski was going to twist his cabinets mind against Russia again, and that before Obama left that Russia would once again be the “bad guys” in this global charade that they parade in front of the people.

Not only was he plugged into the actual cabinets and presidents for council, but he was very close with David Rockefeller, and George Soros, and that whole crusty crew of globalist old creeps that have been trying to force their will on the world for decades. All of their freaky little clubs like The Council on Foreign Relations, the Trilateral Commission, the Bilderberg Group, the Bohemian grove wackos, and even the UN are their grooming grounds to morph more globalist thinking.

With Rockefeller dead, and Brzezinski now dead, and Soros on his last moments, we’ll need to see what their students and followers do with Globalism on a move forward basis. I’m glad that before they passed they got to see chinks in their armor and things starting to unravel with Brexit, Trump, a shakeup in France that gained strength, and the EU starting to wobble and come unhinged.

      Another one bites the dust……

So now think about what we witnessed at the end of Obama’s presidency where all the tensions with Russia surfaces, and Crimea was revisited, and all the unfounded criticism of Russia surfaced during the campaigns.

            Pretty convenient eh?

Now what is the big scandal with the Elections all about? (Russians).

It’s so funny watching people get swept into the vary narrative that these globalist orchestrated, and one has to give them credit for being effective….. All half the country wants to do is talk about how the “bad guys” Russians hacked the elections. Pretty effective propaganda, 1/2 the country now distrusts Russia again.

At least Brzezinski is off the planet now. Ding dong the witch is dead…..

            May 27, 2017 27:23 AM

Or at least one witch is dead…….

Yep there are a few more to go, but it is a moot point, as they’ve spawned whole covens of new globalist witches. Look at the EU, they can’t be removed from their bureaucratic entrenched positions once they get IN the melting pot….just like they wanted it.

            May 27, 2017 27:53 AM

Thanks Excelsior, I will start reading NWO Observer.

Do you have any comments regarding it?

            May 27, 2017 27:27 AM

Big Al. No comments on it, it was just one of the first 6 articles that popped up when I searched for “Brezinski Russia Globalist”.

In the past I’ve read about 100 articles about him, but blew most of them off my computer when I purged out the riff-raff. It really didn’t matter to me which one’s I picked, as the story is the same. I did read them over quickly before posting them to make sure there was valuable content in them for someone new to the story.

Big Al – Honestly, I spent about several decades of my life chasing the wormholes of the shadow government, ties to bankers, world religions, secret societies, etc… I’ve been tied in and associated with a number of folks in secret societies, and many years ago I felt the need to wake everyone up or expose them or thwart these organizations in some way. I have friends that orchestrate protests for all kinds of radical groups and conservative groups all marching on the world trying to get everyone to switch to their reality and rose-colored glasses view of how the world should be. All of that means very little to me these days…

It is clear to me now that giving those people and topics so much thought, energy, and time in my life was all the wrong approach. It was actually draining my life rather than enriching it. People are drawn to Yin as much as the Yang.

I wouldn’t recommend to anyone to start reading the NWO Observer or any such publication, because it means investing more time/energy/thought/vitality into the things about life that you can’t change and it makes them stronger in your life.

Personally, I choose to invest my time/energy/thought into various areas that may enrich my life or the lives around me. I make mistakes and screw up every day, but my focus is on finding opportunity, love, adventure, inspiration, creativity, spirituality, health, and peace.

Focusing too much on global or national politics or the nefarious things going on in the world, derails my best energy to invest into the present moment. Life’s too short.

So if I read, I’d rather focus on something enriching.

            May 28, 2017 28:04 PM

Excelsior, I fully understand how you feel and can relate to much of what you say about looking into rabbit holes of “conspiracy” and such (having devoted way too many hours on this as well).

My only thought is that the pursuit of truth makes it worth the effort to understand the world around us… and, to the extent that we can, understand the truth. And, in doing so, we become more prudent with our decisions (or at least we better the odds for doing so).

On this Memorial Day weekend, where we are encouraged to remember the sacrifice of the many who gave their all … do we also remember that the circumstances that led to many being sent were not as represented? (Does anyone remember George W. Bush making jokes about not finding the weapons of mass destruction that were used as a pretext for war?). There is great honor for those who make the sacrifice and they are eminently worthy of such … but, there is a balance that comes with the knowledge that they were also called to this by deception and falsehoods.

The twice decorated Medal of Honor recipient, Smedley Butler wrote a book about this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/War_Is_a_Racket

I think there is wisdom that comes from understanding … and a basis for this is to know the truth.

In the words of Solomon in Proverbs 23:23 “Buy the truth, and sell it not; also wisdom, and instruction, and understanding”.

And, of course, the promise of Jesus in John 8:32 “The truth shall make you free”.

Words to live by, I think.

+1 Mike. Very good thoughts indeed.

Yes, there is something that happens in the process of seeking “Truth” that is very transformative and does help us “become more prudent with our decisions.” There are many people, however, that tend to dwell there to excess, and not move forward in their daily lives as a result. All excess leads to decay.

As you mentioned, when recognizing the men & women that gave their lives serving their country, they did so at the call of duty. Unfortunately, some were sent on missions by the country and administrations that had less truth behind their motives, and I agree that “War is a Racket”. Regardless they paid the ultimate sacrifice, and should be honored for their service to others.

A wise friend of mine, is very focused on keeping one’s consciousness centered in the Present Moment, (because when else is there?). He reminds me, from time to time, that it’s fine to plan for the future to set your sails to the wind, or look back though history or reflect on lessons learned, but it’s not OK to “stare” at the past.

Some people spend so long “staring” into past events or dwelling on past emotions that they become transfixed there in their minds, and bring this reality in the present, robbing them of the authentic moment that was playing out in front of them.

            Ever Upward!

It’s synergistic that after tuning into this discussion, and switching to another investing blog that an article was posted discussing how Life is Short and we should live in the moment. 🙂

            ___________________________________________________________________

            Life is Short

It’s ironical that it often takes us a lifetime to learn to live in the moment.

We seem to think that we’ll live forever. We spend time and money as though we’ll always be here. We buy stuff as though it matters and is worth the debt and stress of attachment. We put off “living happily ever after” for another year, because we assume we have another year. We don’t tell the ones we love how much we love them often enough because we assume there’s always tomorrow.

But as Paul Graham writes in his beautiful article, life is short, and thus…

“The usual way to avoid being taken by surprise by something is to be consciously aware of it. Back when life was more precarious, people used to be aware of death to a degree that would now seem a bit morbid. I’m not sure why, but it doesn’t seem the right answer to be constantly reminding oneself of the grim reaper hovering at everyone’s shoulder. Perhaps a better solution is to look at the problem from the other end. Cultivate a habit of impatience about the things you most want to do. Don’t wait before climbing that mountain or writing that book or visiting your mother. You don’t need to be constantly reminding yourself why you shouldn’t wait. Just don’t wait.”

Ex, ever since The Russian Revolution in 1917, millions of reasonable American citizens have thought that a Red Revolution might begin in The United States the next month or next week and they were less concerned with making the world safe for democracy than with making America safe for themselves.

          May 27, 2017 27:31 AM

I doubt if your country will ever get rid of the notion that behind every unpopular movement there is a bearded rascal from Eastern Europe with a money bag in one hand and now a computer virus in the other.

            May 27, 2017 27:46 AM

The culprit behind the red scare is whoever needs a bogeyman to promote their position at any given moment, it could be the capitalist looking to discredit a union or a politician using the media to destroy their opposition. The American public must understand this fallacy that has undermined their country.

I think the history is darker and more convoluted than you may realize, DT.

It is said, and I believe it is true, that the Bolsheviks were aided by western finance. Why? This is speculation, but since Brzezinski is in the news, his Great Chessboard, and the need to keep a great power from arising in Eurasia. Also, the long game: thesis, antithesis, synthesis.

Yuri Bezmenov’s comments on the process of ‘ideological subversion’ and ‘demoralization’ are enlightening whether one buys it all or not:

            https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bX3EZCVj2XA

Not that I disagree with you completely. I do think the ‘red scare’ was used to keep the herd bewildered and afraid, so it could be pushed in the desired direction. Just like the ‘terrorism scare’. And I don’t necessarily agree with Bezmenov completely either, if his message was that the Soviets were/are the ones driving the process. The USSR, in my opinion, was just another tool/tactic of those at the top of the pyramid.

Tell me this great Bezmenov quote does not ring true:

“As I mentioned before, exposure to true information does not matter any more. A person who was demoralized is unable to assess true information. The facts tell nothing to him, even if I shower him with information, with authentic proof, with documents, with pictures, even if I take him by force to the Soviet Union and show him concentration camps, he will refuse to believe it, until he is going to receive a kick in his fat bottom, when a military boot crushes his balls, then he will understand, but not before that. Thats the tragic of the situation of demoralization.”
            – Yuri Bezmenov, KGB-Überläufer 1984

Looks to me like the process he spoke of is in full swing in the Western, so-called ‘Free’, World.

Dick Tracy, many of the “Walls” between Russian and the USA (that continued on longer than they needed to from WWII all the way into the late 70’s) had these Globalists behind the Charade or Play that they presented to the public. When they own most of the major news outlets and media then they “program” into people’s minds the reality they want to tune into. It’s very effective because the sheeple believe what they are told.

Brzezinski was one of the architects of the Russian/US conflict and he amped it up big time during Carter, but during the Regan years when he was saying “Tear down that wall” to the USSR, it was still part of the Global Play for the public, but it was the cue to make the Russians our “friends” and the new “Bad Guys” were the Middle East with the Iran/Contra affair, and all the CIA ops in the Middle East.

If you remember in the 80’s all these moves came about like 2010 (the follow up to 2001 ) where the Russians were are friends in space, or Ruskies, or Hunt for Red October, etc… This continued on in the 1990’s & early 200’s Sci Fi genre in series like Star Gate where the US & Russian were working together, or in military films where the US and Russia shared intelligence and were reluctantly working together, but healing old wounds.

When Obama came into the office and Brzezinski came back into the picture as one of his advisers, I got into some heated debates with friends and family where I mentioned, “give us a few years and the Russians will suddenly be bad guys” and btw “race relations will get far worse….not better.”

Everyone laughed and scoffed at these ideas in 2008. “Come on’ , the Cold War is over, and the Russians are our friends now.” or “This will heal the race relations in our country.”

Well……. As Obama’s first term turned into his second term….. Race relations are worse than I ever remember them in several decades, and once again the Russians are the bad guy.

Sorry, but I don’t buy into any garbage in the main stream or supposedly “Alternative” media. If people can’t figure out that these world events are scripted from a higher vantage point, and that it is a large distraction, designed to illicit the response from the masses, then the world deserves the governments it gets.

The world leaders like Carter, Reagan, both Bushes, the Clintons, the Obamas, Angela Merkel, Tony Blair, Theresa May, Marine Le Pen, Emmanuel Macron, and on and on… are part of these globalist clubs, but they are merely the PR mouthpieces for the deep state. It is their cabinets and all the worker bees that are entrenched in the globalist mindset (sometimes knowingly and often out of sheer programming and conditioning).

The vast majority of the narratives we’ve see in Global politics are nothing more than a farce, and yet people endlessly debate the figure head PR mouthpieces (as if they mattered) or actually think their “Vote” or “protest” or “lobbying” is going to make a damn bit of difference. Here’s a clue….. It won’t.

Like the great George Carlin said….

“It’s a Big F*ck!ng Club and You are NOT part of it….. and they don’t care about You.”

Then the sheeple see it over and over and start believing it and become activists for false flag narrative.

Most frustrating is that expressing an intelligent view that is the product of much study and consideration, like yours above Excelsior, makes one ‘persona non grata’ with the large majority of Americans.

“When the taste for physical gratifications among them has grown more rapidly than their education . . . the time will come when men are carried away and lose all self-restraint . . . . It is not necessary to do violence to such a people in order to strip them of the rights they enjoy; they themselves willingly loosen their hold. . . . they neglect their chief business which is to remain their own masters.”
~Alexis de Tocqueville, Democracy in America Volume 2

“Tyranny in democratic republics…ignores the body and goes straight for the soul. The master no longer says: You will think as I do or die. He says: You are free not to think as I do. You may keep your life, your property, and everything else. But from this day forth you shall be as a stranger among us. You will retain your civic privileges, but they will be of no use to you. For if you seek the votes of your fellow citizens, they will withhold them, and if you seek only their esteem, they will feign to refuse even that. You will remain among men, but you will forfeit your rights to humanity. When you approach your fellow creatures, they will shun you as one who is impure. And even those who believe in your innocence will abandon you, lest they, too, be shunned in turn. Go in peace, I will not take your life, but the life I leave you with is worse than death.”
            ~Alexis de Tocqueville

With Rockefeller dead, and Brzezinski now dead, and Soros on his last moments, we’ll need to see what their students and followers do with Globalism on a move forward basis. I’m glad that before they passed they got to see chinks in their armor and things starting to unravel with Brexit, Trump, a shakeup in France that gained strength, and the EU starting to wobble and come unhinged.

        Another one bites the dust……

Ex…MSNBC’s morning Joe crew lost a chink in their guest armor… his daughter stays busy bashing Trump and flying around southern France. The CFR is well reprensented on the show. Mika Brzezinski Quietly Divorced Jim Hoffer, Husband of 22 Years last year and is now engaged to Joe.

Fox News host Sean Hannity responded to a Friday morning attack from “Morning Joe” co-host Joe Scarborough, mocking the MSNBC rival’s ratings and relationship with his co-anchor and fiancee Mika Brzezinski.

“LOL, Joe and Mika are so cute together. Do they hold hands under the desk?” Hannity told Mediaite via email. “That would be the only reason to watch the low rated daily emotional breakdowns they have.”

Earlier on Friday, Scarborough bashed the Fox News host for continuing to trumpet conspiracy theories about former Democratic National Committee employee Seth Rich, who was murdered in Washington, D.C., last summer and has been the centerpiece of unsubstantiated reports tying him to WikiLeaks — which Rich’s family has repeatedly repudiated.

            Ray Dalio’s Decision Making Process

Ray Dalio is an American investor, hedge fund manager and philanthropist, and is the founder of investment firm Bridgewater Associates, one of the world’s largest hedge funds. He runs Bridgewater according to 210 principles that he’s collected in a manual for his employees, which you can download from here.

In his recent post, Tren Griffin of 25iq captures the essence of Dalio’s decision making process, and also draws similarity with the process used by Charlie Munger…

Dalio starts with a rational analysis of the information he has and from that he forms a hypothesis. He then exposes that hypothesis to thoughtful people with alternative points of view and methods of analysis who may disagree with him and then he wants a radically transparent “back and forth” discussion. As part of that process he wants to deeply understand the reasoning of any thoughtful opposing views.

Only after he has understood these alternative points of view does Dalio believe he is in a position to reject or accept the alternative ideas and make a decision. Dalio’s approach is quite similar to Charlie Munger’s approach: “I never allow myself to have an opinion on anything that I don’t know the other side’s argument better than they do. Rapid destruction of your ideas when the time is right is one of the most valuable qualities you can acquire. You must force yourself to consider arguments on the other side.”

So far, I haven’t been overly impressed with Trump draining the swamp, and if anything he just brought in a few different kind of inhabitants for the swamp.

Corruption and scheming has been part of humanity since we lived in small tribes that attacked their chiefs or took advantage of other tribes or had a coup. It was no different in Greece, or Rome, or Sumeria, or China, or with the Incas, or Aztecs, or Feudal Society.

The SWAMP will always be a part of the picture.

All we can do is learn to love one another with the hand we are dealt, and find the passion and innovation in life to try to make the lives of those around us a better place.

            May 27, 2017 27:30 AM

I believe the answer lies in an awakening amongst the masses, and that will be spread from person to person, as they experience the light within (to become en-light-ened), and this spreads through networks of individual neurons that eventually change the thought forms. Thoughts shape beliefs, that shape attitudes, that shape actions that shape results that become our lifestyle. “Life is what you live and style is how you life it.”

Expecting a person or an administration or any other group to save our rear-ends puts us in a position of weakness as victims waiting for some force to rescue us. We have to save ourselves and take personal accountability. As Gandhi advised we should strive to “be the change we want to see in the world.”

          Twain was a monster.

“Mark Twain’s Letters from the Earth was so virulently atheistic that it couldn’t be published until fifty years after his death. And in Huckleberry Finn, Twain blames Christianity and Christians for American slavery, when in fact the Bible, although it recognizes slavery as a universal institution of the ancient world, hedges it with restrictions and, in the end, provides no justification for it at all. Those who, like me, laughed heartily while reading Huckleberry Finn, might have done well to read with some awareness of its sub-text.”

There is a big difference between an assimilated Muslim living in “Western” society and one steeped in Islamic culture, where the accepted punishment for apostasy is death; where the punishment for theft is the severance of a hand.
Can Dr. Huber explain the war between Sunnis and Shiias by “conventional” logic?

The real error of a Government is to be more concerned about being “politically correct” than the safety of its citizens.
The real error is to think “Why can’t we just all get along”, when you “know” there is a clash of moral values and ethics; an asymmetry of acceptable beliefs. If Europe does not wake up, it will cease to exist as we know it, and will the U.S. suffer than same fate more than a couple of generations behind it?
I invite you to live for a few weeks in any of the English cities under Sharia law and see if you still believe Islam is a harmless religion.

Segment 8 – Big Al – you ask, “what gets them in the mindset that they think thats OK?” Well actually, it is very easy to understand, just ask yourself: If the tables were turned, and a middle east military power wipes out your family; and they shrug their shoulders and say, “gosh, were sorry, collateral damage”. What would YOU do if you were in your twenties or thirties? Would you be inclined to just say – “yea, you know I’m happy to turn the other cheek and I agree – collateral damage happens!” Or would you be inclined to take action?

Al – perhaps it is time more enlightened people ask if we (westerners) are exacerbating the situation and creating a more volitle climate for hatred to flourish. After 20 years of killing mid east families, are you really surprised that blowback is a real outcome of failed policies?

The totalitarian mass leaders based their propaganda on the correct psychological assumption that, under such conditions, one could make people believe the most fantastic statements one day, and trust that if the next day they were given irrefutable proof of their falsehood, they would take refuge in cynicism; instead of deserting the leaders who had lied to them, they would protest that they had known all along that the statement was a lie and would admire the leaders for their superior tactical cleverness…

The ideal subject of totalitarian rule is not the convinced Nazi or the dedicated communist, but people for whom the distinction between fact and fiction, true and false, no longer exists.

David. Under what moral value is it reasonable to kill INNOCENT people for revenge killing of other INNOCENT people? This is not reasonable under any Judeo-Christian moral value or ethical standard that I know. To me it is simply not acceptable OR excusable.

Going after a politician or military person that was involved in the deaths of innocent victims might be considered to have some logic, but killing young girls, for example, in Manchester, some of whom were not even of the same nationality of those involved with Libyan bombing is not even illogical revenge; it is pure hatred, religiously-inspired hatred.

        May 27, 2017 27:09 PM

You are very correct, It is not moral or reasonable – but is a typical human response; especially if ones anger cannot reasonably be directed at the responsible party. I am not condoning the actions on either side – I’m just an observer.

I would also ask you to consider the young Syrian, Iraqi, Libyan, girls, who are killed in the name of eliminating “terrorism”. How can that be justified – it cannot. And so the circle of violence shall continue till one day intellect overrides hatred, until both sides cultivate leaders who can see beyond blood letting as a way to solve problems and make fortunes. So long as the west listens and abides by the rational espoused by the likes of Cheney, Bush, Blair, etc., we will remain in a circle of violence. I am suggesting that people look beyond vested interests, step out of the current paradyne, and see the world from the other persons perspective; if you do, you may broaden your horizons. Remember – One mans terrorist, is another mans freedom fighter. That has been true for as long as we have been human; even if Ronald Reagan disagrees. Big Al, outwardly things are going well for Trump when he is away from The US. He is also personally popular with middle America. Middle America understands business and the conservative temperament of your country. The government bureaucracy doesn’t like Trump because he understands graft, waste, and mismanagement. Trump has the kind of mind that has a definite program about the complicated issues at stake. He is viewed as a bumpkin because they his adversaries can’t stand anything that isn’t the status quo.
