The Vancouver Metals Conference Circuit Has Gone Boutique
      David Erfle – Friday June 02, 2017

“Cambridge House International (CHI), founded in 1995, has become the leading producer of investment conferences located across North America. Top industry analysts, newsletter writers, hedge fund managers, trends forecasters and finance celebrities offer unsolicited opinion and education to the retail investor for little or no entrance fee.”

“This dilemma of the absence in mining focused conferences was recognized by resource based company Sprott Global Resources, who by early 2016, decided to organize a more intimate event strictly devoted to the mining sector. The conference organizers introduced an entrance fee to target the more serious and higher net-worth investor. I attended the Sprott Global Symposium last year and was taken by the quality of the companies in attendance, as well as the speaker list. The keynote speakers and the company management were easily accessible, and I was able to be more focused in an intimate atmosphere.”

“Due to the success of the Sprott event, a few of the mining sector newsletter writers decided to organize the recently launched Metals Investor Forum. Conducted at the Georgia hotel, this conference was also more boutique in nature, as each company in attendance needs a recommendation from a keynote newsletter writer if they wish to participate. All of the companies in attendance were carefully vetted exploration firms and the event featured the best in breed newsletter writers as keynote speakers. The program was well designed so that the attendees could see each key note speech, without worrying about missing another. The free of charge event was also a catered affair, which was an un-expected surprise.”

“The changes made to the miner conference experience by Sprott Global and the Metal Writers Forum have not gone unnoticed by the Cambridge House organizers. The just concluded International Metal Writers Conference, in which I was invited to speak, continued the boutique conference theme of a more focused and intimate atmosphere by cutting in half the amount of participating companies from the previous VRIC Vancouver event CHI held last January. The organizers introduced an on-line, interactive one-on-one company meeting system, where the registrant could schedule 10 minute consultations with management of each individual company he/she is interested in. All the over 50 expert speakers’ presentations will be available shortly on the Cambridge House website.”

New DOW high today. Although a Bitcoin proponent, Keiser’s guest makes some good points about it, the Dollar, and Gold (E 1076):

“It said the future of Indian-Russian cooperation holds great promise across a wide spectrum covering nuclear power, nuclear fuel cycle and nuclear science and technology.

Jordan Trimble: “We’re in the Early Days of a Uranium Market Recovery”
        InvestingNews – Jun 2, 2017

“Skyharbour Resources (TSXV:SYH) President and CEO Jordan Trimble gave a company presentation and participated in two panels at the recent International Metal Writers Conference in Vancouver. In the midst of a busy conference, Trimble took some time to talk to the Investing News Network about Skyharbour’s uranium and thorium exploration projects in Saskatchewan’s Athabasca Basin.”

“Skyharbour has interests in five projects covering over 250,000 hectares. In June last year, the firm secured an option to buy Denison Mines’ (TSX:DML, NYSEMKT:DNN) Moore Lake uranium project on the southeastern side of the Athabasca Basin. Trimble said results of the company’s winter drill program revealed 21 percent U308 over a meter and a half, plus “a high-grade pod” with 9 percent U308 over a meter and a half.”

“He also said Skyharbour is fully funded for its summer 2017 and January to March 2018 drill programs. In March, the company reached option agreements with Areva (EPA:AREVA) and Azincourt Uranium (TSXV:AAZ) to advance exploration at the Preston uranium project.”

“Trimble said he believes the uranium market has reached its bottom, and that most analysts predict the price will have to hit $55 to $65 a pound to incentivize new production to come online. He explained that new larger reactors are being built that require more uranium to operate, and nuclear utilities will need to renew their supply contracts in the next few years.”

“He added that nuclear energy is really the only source of electricity that provides 24/7 base load power with zero carbon emissions, and said it can be part of the solution to the air-quality issues various countries are facing.”

The global #EnergyStorage industry will expand rapidly in the next few years, as it moves to support #solar and other infrastructure that is growing more and more complex.

“Utility-scale storage will be a significant part of the energy storage market’s expansion, but, according to a March report by Navigant Research, recent market developments include an uptick in projects in the distributed sector, particularly for solar + storage microgrids and the commercial and industrial segment. Navigant expects global annual deployments of residential energy storage to increase by about 3.7 GW by 2025.

“With interest in #EnergyStorage growing within the commercial and residential segments, how are markets moving to assist customers as they look for financial options to install these next-generation energy systems?” ~EnergyStorage #Index

I know this sounds odd, but today was the breakout from the (weird, wonky, weekly) triangle pattern I have been closely monitoring. Back-tests and fake-breakouts (downwards) are possible, of course.

It is going to be an interesting summer.

I ma VERY happy that Doc is back. Another great interview, Cory !

Doc welcome back!!!!! – You think exactly like I do, I was mentioning pensions recently when talking to people about the next potential downturn in the stockmarket. Also insurance companies would be really stuffed ……..we may end up seeing massive bump up in premiums.

    Jun 03, 2017 03:03 AM

I would view $1160 gold as possible but about the maximum that you could go to the downside without ending the baby bull market.
