This week we “celebrated” the 30th anniversary of Black Monday with thankfully no repeat in the markets. In this weekend’s show we look back 30 years and see what has changed. We also have some expanded segments (ones that could not fit alone in the radio segments) on the metals. The consensus currently is that the precious metals complex could continue to be under pressure until year end but look to 2018 for the next chance of a significant move up.

There is a Canadian company operating in China with very low cost. Its name is SilverCorp, Symbol SVM. It is a very solid company. I have been having it for nearly 8 years.
Dragonite. It was after considering your points on the low cash costs and All In Sustaining Costs on Silvercorp (SVM) back in late 2015 that caused me to start an initial position in Dec of 2015 and go in big in Mid January 2016. I sold in tranches on the way up but had a 2 bagger on part, a 5 bagger on part, and final 1/3 I had an 8 bagger on by summer of 2016.
Even though we discussed this in the past, I just wanted to take a moment to say Thank You one more time.

Nice. I don’t hold any at present because I have 15 other Silver stocks, but I’ve considered swapping a few out and one of the pickups may be Silvercorp down the road.
My silver holding are mostly Sprott and Central Fund physical ETF. SVM is my largest silver miner, I also hold First Majestic, Wheaton and Endeavour Silver. I like FR a lot.

I believe in 1987 we still had a free market.
I believe in 2017 we no longer have a free market in anything.
Not sure that absolutely no free markets exists at all anymore.
I doubt the circuit breakers in place in the general markets now will ever allow for a such a large percentage move down in the markets over a short period of time as we we saw in 1987.

Call me a cynic, but I fervently believe many “mining” companies are little more than vehicles to provide salaries for management.

Management are cowards due to the socio-financial situation. In order to keep the prices suppressed, banks tell the companies how much to sell their product for. When a mining company asks for a loan, the bank shorts their stock beforehand to get more stock. Other tricks of the trade.
Well of course, that is part of the “deal” What is wrong with that?

CFS – Agreed. Many mining companies are a way for a pack of jackals to milk investors for money and do capital raises to provide them salaries for 5-10 years, and then they disband and do it again…. and again….

I must say that quality is very important to him. Hi reputation is starting to be excellent. Like myself, in the past, he realizes that only quality wins in the long run. WAY TO GO MR. FLECK!
There is nothing wrong with executives of a company getting a “reasonable” salary and some stock options to stay competitive in the marketplace and attract quality talent, if they are advancing a REAL project.
However, many companies know full well their projects are doomed years in advance, and slow walk drilling or metallurgical work, or distort data to make early economic studies look like they may have an outside chance of working.
The problem is that they know in advance they are sitting on a dead end that will never be an economic mine, and they do financing after financing, attend investor conferences pumping their story, and all the while they are on a sinking ship and just drawing an exorbitant salary despite all of this.
This is why there are still too many Jrs miners listed today, and bogus companies like these add unnecessary clutter to the thousands of miners populating the space, making it challenging for investors to separate the real companies from the majority of charlatans. That’s what makes a market though.

As we always recommend, that is why it is so important to get a range of different ideas and perspectives, spend the time to do the homework and due diligence, ask the tough questions during interviews, and look for measured improvement from milestone to milestone in a given company.

The problem now lies in the silence of conservative view points. There are enough of those in authority with left-wing viewpoints to kill the careers of conservatives and libertarians.

I am starting to agree with your assessment and that is why I have so much respect for Dr. Paul; Mr. McAdams; and Mr. Deist among others.
I also have a lot of time and respect for General Kelly and others including the President. I think that Trump’s heart is in the right place but that his huge liability centers around his communication skills.

If they but understood the level of un-abated corruption, they would believe the situation was never worse in history, except for third countries and tin-pot open dictatorships.
Time and again those in power in Washington turn a blind eye knowingly to illegal and often traiterous activities in the hope of leverage to gain some other corrupt rewards. Few enter national politics with a concept of being a servant of the people, but with an eye to high rewards. The jury is probably still out on President, who apart from ego-self gratification and publicity for his real estate empire has done little that appears intended to destroy or weaken the nation. Here is Chinese news on renewable energy:
To produce that much solar power, there is not enough silver using the current solar technology. Throughout the history， the total amount of silver mined is around 1.2 million tons. That took 6000 years. The easy to mine silver is gone. The grade halves every 10-12 years. Contrary to gold, the silver concentration decreases as we drill deeper, as I heard. China must find another technology to produce solar power or it has to go nuclear. China has recently announced that their nuclear reactor technology has matured to the state that there will not be nuclear disasters (who knows). This makes me feel that China will seek nuclear route to replace coal instead counting on solar. Nuclear is a base load energy and solar is not. China is planning to have 120 nuclear reactors in operation to the year 2030. It put it slightly above US has today. After Fukushima, China put its nuclear projects into slow gear to make sure it is in full control. It is now speeding up.
The reactor technology is such that it really should be possible to built a melt-down impossible design. Yes, there will be a trade off between maximum efficiency and safety, but is that not a reasonable price to pay?

I am not sure which energy will have the best future so I invest in oil for conventional, Silver for solar and in Uranium for nuclear Energy.

Thorium-based nuclear reactors are the design we need for all new nuclear reactors. But this would not aid the country in acquiring plutonium for nuclear weapons, which is the real reason behind building breeder reactors the way they do today.
agreed jhpace1. There still could be a future for Thorium-based reactors, but not much precedent for it for the reasons you outlined.
However, the area I rarely hear discussed are the different innovations for coating or plating the Uranium pellets with other specialty metals that reduce heat, improve efficiencies, and reduce meltdown concerns. There are a few different companies pursuing this at present, and it seems like the best answer, because the existing fleet of nuclear reactors can just have upgraded fuel added versus building entirely new reactor designs.

What Jim Puplava failed to mention on index funds is the number of pension and funds insurance companies that invest in indices.

First of all, thank you for joining us.
I have a phone call set for this coming Wednesday evening with Bob Moriarty and George Grundy which I am definite look forward to.
My conclusion at this point regarding 9/11 is based on the facts that I am aware of and can verify.
I cannot verify any of Mr. Grundy’s comments regarding the U.S. govt being complacent in the destruction of the Towers and the resulting significant loss of life. Since I cannot verify the anti-govt accusations, I have chosen to not believe them.
I can verify many of the actual actions taken by the govt since 9/11 (the sale of uranium assets; the mistake of entering Iraq; the negative aspects of Obamacare; and many others.
These are things that are proven and I can believe and consequently I agree with Dr. Paul when he says “we will probably know the truth at some point in the future.”

I think the roots of 9/11 run very deep and no matter how one looks at the issue, I do not think anyone will deny that the event has impacted not only many lives but the future of our country and to some degree the entire world. As such, I think if we were to know or see the bigger picture of what really happened, many twists and turns exist that make mis-interpretation all to easy for most of us. I think you are bold to address the issue and hope more light than heat comes out of the ensuing discussions.
terra laser, I agree that the entire world has become affected by 9/11. I also agree with you comment about the “twists and turns” and that is why I personally only consider proven facts to be relevant to this very important discussion.

Big Al, I am a scientist/engineer and would point out that “proven facts” can sometimes be very difficult to realize in practice especially when the observer has an emotional involvement in what is being observed. In science – and I would argue most situations – nothing is ever known with absolute certainty (except possibly by the Sovereign – although I think scripture argues against that) and even when absolute certainty (“proven fact”) is approached many observations and observers will have weighed in. That is why I am grateful to you to go out and get different and opposing views on the 9/11 – since to get to the point of a “proven fact” will require that sort of an effort.
Dr. Paul’s comment about the Warren Report of the JFK assassination was to my understanding pointing out that to assume the NIST report on 9/11 is the last word or a fact is likely a bad assumption if history is to be our guide. As Dr. Paul mentioned, many people today think good evidence exists that elements of our own government at the time were at least aware and possibly involved. I would have to agree with Dr. Paul on that particular point.

They claim, without any evidence to back up one work, that they “believe” it will have a positive impact on the British economy. Gosh, Jerry, I didn’t follow his career in detail, but it seems he was one of the only voices for sanity and decency. What could he have changed by himself?
Possibly because he did not want to leave his life – as he saw – prematurely. I do not know what is (was) going on within Dr. Paul but I can not necessarily fault him for not choosing to be a martyr for the people against a corrupted system. Maybe he thinks he can have greater impact speaking as he does now vs. being remembered as one of many who have mysteriously died – I really do not know.

Hi Ex. Yeh I just thought I would mention Clive for entertainment purposes. Although, like I previously mentioned, his last couple of updates have been pretty sound. We shall see.
Looking at one of his gold charts (8 yr gold chart I believe) gold actually looks to be doing ok. Its uptrend since the end of 2015 is still in tact unless gold were to break the $1200 level. I guess thats why Clives mentioned this zone as support for the yellow metal if and when the dollar were to mount a sizeable rally. Short to mid term pain is still likely for gold and silver I believe.
Yes, the uptrend since the end of 2015 is still in tact, and there have been higher lows and higher highs. However, Gold needs to take out the 2016 high of $1377.50 to confirm things are still going to continue higher for the longer term pattern. So many traders are myopic and just noted that it failed to get over that peak earlier this year, but it is quite normal to fail at the first or even second attempt to make it through strong resistance. If it blast up through that peak in early 2018 then nothing has changed and the bull market that started in late 2015/early 2016 is still in tact.

If, however gold continues to drift around the mark where it is today after another failed attempt of that 1360-1380 region then that is where I will seriously question the PMs. I stated a few days ago that 2018 shapes as a make or break year for gold and silver and nothing will change my sentiment at this stage. The 2016 high not only has to be taken out but then serve as support.

I believe that no matter what we will see a build up of armaments by the growing tensions in the Pacific. China is the key here, they are looking to control the world through a commercial empire. China is challenging The US, they believe their commerce should have prior rights to those of other nations.

This could be wrong–I am certainly open to evaluating other sources of info on the matter, as figuring this all out is a work in progress.
As far as the Jewish faith goes, I’m far from an expert, but there seem to be dramatically different sects, with some of them actually being Luciferian imposters, even if most are genuinely good and religious in their faith.
Luciferian would be a difficult conclusion for me to come to without some facts which I am unaware of.
Knowing as many Jews as I do, I have to agree that there seem to be different ideologies Some being definitely secular (which I really do not respect) and the other being devoted to their religion. (Which I do highly respect.)

I left my best laptop up in Sonoma and just grabbed a suitcase of clothes, my IPad and a chrome book as I left the house hurriedly last week.
I don’t actually like my IPad much as my fingers are much too big, but it does make for easy internet connection.
So, I assume that the fire has, at the very least, damaged your home. If that is the case CFS, I hope that the damage was negligible and, it not, you have my very best wishes.
I don’t know the full extent yet. ( When ignorance is bliss….Life is short enough without worrying yourself to death.)

The number of patients leaving Britain and flying overseas for medical treatment has trebled as NHS waiting times reach a record high, a Telegraph investigation has revealed.
Government data shows the number of people going abroad for healthcare has increased from 48,000 in 2014 to almost 144,000 last year as the health service struggles to cope with demand.
Experts said lengthening waiting times for surgery – particularly hip, knee and cataract operations – and cutbacks to fertility treatment – were fuelling the rise.
