Recapping the Fed Minutes and An Update on Oil

Cory
November 22, 2017

Chris Temple joined me after the Fed minutes were released to recap some of the points that he noted. We discuss the ongoing inflation debate within the Fed and the changing of the guard with a number of seat switching next year. We also look at the oil price which continues to move up ahead of the OPEC meeting next week.

My Bitcoin update, in 7 years Bitcoin has gone up from .06 to almost $8200.00 that’s 136,000 times. That is the king of all bubbles, yet still fools buy! I’m sure there aren’t any fools on this site, LOL! DT

Maybe it’s frustration at super-high prices in the US stock market, manipulation of gold and silver at super-low prices, interest rates held at below 5% and an inability to outrun inflation inherent in the US system.

I gave up on trying to educate some people on Cryptos.

The final story may not yet be in, but regardless, standing in front of a tidal wave, but ignoring it just does not make sense to me.
Riding the wave with care makes more sense.
But what do I know? I choose to live in California, which lots of people would consider crazy…..exposing myself to the hghest taxes.

Andy Hoffman fails to recognize the power of governments.

Governments can destroy fiat currencies by virtue of printing more and more.

Governments can also destroy cryptos by virtue of their power. They will do so when their governmental control is threatened.

I listened to Andy Hoffman. He is simply too focussed.

He has not thought about the power of governments fully.

Governments and politicians will NEVER give up power easily.

Yes. Blockchains are brilliant concepts and seem safe in their distributed ledger existence, distributed over the world, which would appear to give them immunity from attack of any one government.
But people, as individuals, are not so distributed and invulnerable to attack.
If a government can not attack any particular crypto, do you doubt it will not choose to attack individual citizens or investors in cryptos in general?

On the energy front, there are still interesting things developing all the time for Energy Storage and the metals and minerals needed to support these growing markets.

This news today on them cracking down on the child labor in the Democratic Republic of the Congo is overdue, but it will only underpin the desire from companies and refiners to continue to look for good sources outside of the DRC.

LME launches probe on cobalt suppliers over fears of child exploitation
Cecilia Jamasmie | about 8 hours ago

“The London Metal Exchange (LME), the world’s biggest market for industrial metals, has launched a probe into whether cobalt mined by child labour is trading on the exchange, following several reports indicating that minors are being exploited to extract the coveted mineral.”

“Members of the century-old trading platform first raised concerns about questionable cobalt this summer, Financial Times reports, as they feared some of it could have come from mines in the world’s leading producer — the Democratic Republic of Congo, largely accused of child exploitation.”

“The electric vehicles (EV) boom has impacted cobalt prices this year and the metal is trading at around $61,000 per tonne, the highest in more than five years. That makes of cobalt the most expensive of the minerals required for manufacturing EV batteries.”

“According to commodity researcher CRU Group, about 60% of the mined cobalt is used to make batteries and most of that supply (54% according to data from Bloomberg Intelligence) comes from the DRC, which also holds about 49% of the world’s known reserves.”

We had a Graphite chat on here recently, due to it’s importance in batteries and Energy Storage. I was just wondering what investors here thought of $LEM $LEMIF Leading Edge Materials?

    > They have a producing Woxna graphite project in #Sweden (good jurisdiction)

    http://leadingedgematerials.com/woxna-graphite/

      Nov 23, 2017 23:07 AM

In addition to the primary Graphite project for (LEM)…..

Dick Tracy – I wondered when you said Dines was a fan of this company, if they have some #SpecialtyMetals or #RareEarths component as well.

Sure enough they have the Norra Karr Rare Earth project, (also in Sweden), and I used to have a position in Tasman back in 2011 or 2012 because this deposit was considered one of the best “Heavy” #RareEarth projects on the planet.

      http://leadingedgematerials.com/norra-karr/

      * Just recently, in fact, I was wondering whatever happened to Tasman as the project was so well respected in the previous cycle, and Rare Earths and related Strategic Metals are rising in price again. It is very wild that Leading Edge Materials Corp acquired this massive REE project, which is still sitting unnoticed and I’ve seen no discussion about it from other investors about this.

        Nov 23, 2017 23:09 AM

Apparently Flinders Graphite & Tasman Metals merged back in the summer of 2016, when most were preoccupied by the surging Precious Metals, but I am impressed that technically they now how 2 flagship projects under 1 roof:

        http://leadingedgematerials.com/tasman-shareholders/

          Nov 23, 2017 23:34 AM

Flinders I was a fan of dating back to the original REE mania but yes I stopped following it when the mania died. Definitely need to go back and look at all my past REE favs.

            Nov 23, 2017 23:02 PM

I see after all these years they are no closer to a mine by the looks of it

            Nov 24, 2017 24:28 AM

Their Graphite project has already been in production and is on standby for when the prices start to move. It is their “flagship” project now.

My point on Norra Karr was that it was Tasman’s old flagship Rare Earth project and it is well-endowed with the Heavy REEs.

Graphite is what will drive the first wave of Leading Edge Materials (LEM). The Rare Earths will provide it the second wave.

Anyone looking for an update on Auryn

With all the back log at the labs from drilling this summer the results have taken longer then everyone has expected. That said we do have results starting to come in with some partials and mediocre holes so far. The best part of the drilling took place in the later half of the program which is understandable as this was our first time on the property.

As for Peru drilling, we ended up adjusting our final drill plan which has caused us a two week delay in the start of the drill program – as soon as we officially start drilling we will announce this news which I expect any day now.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.
